Alaska Air Group is engaged in providing passenger air service through its two principal subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines, Inc. (Alaska) and Horizon Air Industries, Inc. (Horizon). In addition, Co. provides freight and mail services, primarily to and within the state of Alaska and on the West Coast. Through Alaska, Co. provides north/south service within the western U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as passenger and cargo services to and within the state of Alaska. Through Horizon, Co. provides regional airline services in the Pacific Northwest, and serves a number of cities in six states and six cities in Canada. As of Dec 31 2007, Co.'s operating fleet consisted of 115 jet aircraft.
