DaVita provides dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, also known as end stage renal disease (ESRD). As of Dec 31 2007, Co. operated or provided administrative services to about 1,359 outpatient dialysis centers in 43 states and the District of Columbia, serving about 107,000 patients on top of its acute inpatient dialysis services in about 700 hospitals.
