Delta Natural Gas is engaged in selling and distributing or transporting natural gas. Co.'s distribution and transportation systems are located in central and southeastern Kentucky and it owns and operates an underground storage field in southeastern Kentucky. Co. transport natural gas to its industrial customers who purchase their gas in the open market. Co. also transports natural gas on behalf of local producers and customers not on our distribution system. Co. produces a relatively small amount of natural gas from its southeastern Kentucky wells. As of June 30 2008, Co. sold and distributed or transported natural gas to approx. 38,000 customers.
