Occidental Petroleum businesses consist of two industry segments operated by its subsidiaries. Co.'s oil and gas segment explores for, develops, produces and markets crude oil and natural gas. Co.'s chemical segment manufactures and markets basic chemicals, vinyls and performance chemicals. Co.'s domestic oil and gas operations are located in west Texas, New Mexico, California, Kansas, Oklahoma, Utah and western Colorado, while its international operations are located in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Libya, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. At Dec 31 2007, Co.'s total oil and natural gas proved reserves were 2.23 billion barrels and 3.84 trillion cubic feet, respectively.
