Scanner invents, develops and markets vision inspection products that are used in the semiconductor industry for the inspection of integrated circuits. Specifically, integrated circuits are divided into two general categories: leaded devices, integrated circuits with fragile leads extending from the perimeter of the package that provide the electrical interconnects between the integrated circuit and the other components that constitute an electronic product; and ball array devices, integrated circuits that have an array of small conductive spheres, or balls, mounted to the bottom of the integrated circuit package. These balls serve the same function as the leads in the first category.
