United States Steel is a steel producer with production operations in North America and Central Europe. Co. uses iron ore and coke as primary raw materials for steel production. Co. is also engaged in several other business activities, most of which are related to steel manufacturing. These include the production of coke in both North America and Central Europe; and the production of iron ore pellets from taconite, transportation services (railroad and barge operations), real estate operations, and engineering and consulting services in North America.
