Mr. White joined Abbott in 1984, was named chief executive officer in 1998 and became chairman of the board in 1999.
In addition to his responsibilities at Abbott, Mr. White serves on the board of directors of Motorola, Inc. He is chairman of the board of trustees of The Field Museum, and sits on the boards of The Museum of Science and Industry, The Joffrey Ballet, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
He serves as a trustee on the boards of Northwestern University, and the Culver Educational Foundation. In addition he is a member of the International Advisory Council of the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, The Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council, and vice chairman of the Chicago 2016 board of directors.
Mr. White earned both a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.
Thomas Freyman is executive vice president, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed to his current role in February 2004 and has served as Abbott's Chief Financial Officer since 2001.
Freyman joined Abbott in 1979, and has served in a number of financial planning and analysis positions. In 1984, Freyman was appointed finance director for Abbott's European distribution center in the Netherlands. He also served as division controller, Corporate Materials Management, vice president and treasurer, and vice president and controller, Hospital Products Division.
Prior to joining Abbott, Freyman was a certified public accountant with Ernst & Whinney, Chicago.

Edward L. Michael
Executive Vice President, Diagnostics
Edward Michael is executive vice president, diagnostics leading Abbott's diagnostics, molecular and point-of-care businesses. He was appointed to this position in July 2007. Previously, he served as senior vice president, medical products, leading Abbott's molecular, spine and animal health business units.
Michael joined Abbott in 1985 as an attorney in the Legal Division. Since 1990, he has held various management positions in Abbott's global diagnostics operations, including vice president for Europe, Africa and Middle East, and vice president, Diagnostic Commercial Operations. He also served as vice president, Immunoassay/Clinical Chemistry, Abbott Diagnostics Division and as vice president, Abbott Molecular, leading Abbott's global molecular diagnostic business.
He earned a bachelor's degree in politics and government and a juris doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Holger Liepmann is executive vice president, Global Nutrition. He was appointed to this position in October of 2006. Previously, he was executive vice president, Pharmaceutical Products Group.

Donald Patton is senior vice president, U.S. Nutrition, where he oversees Abbott’s domestic nutrition business. He was appointed to his current role in April 2007. Previously, he served as vice president, Diagnostic Global Commercial Operations, Abbott Diagnostics Division.
Patton has held several management positions, including president and general manager, Abbott Canada and vice president, International Marketing, in Abbott's international pharmaceutical business. Patton also served at TAP Pharmaceuticals, a joint venture between Abbott and Takeda Chemical Industries of Japan, for 10 years.
Patton began his career in teaching and prior to joining Abbott held various sales positions with Johnson & Johnson Ortho Pharmaceutical group and Becton-Dickinson. Patton also spent time as a newspaper editor and at an advertising agency.

Prior to re-joining Abbott in 1997, Tyree was president of Sugen Inc., a biotechnology start-up company and held various leadership positions at other pharmaceutical companies.
He serves on the board of directors for TAP Pharmaceuticals, a joint venture between Abbott and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. Mary Szela is senior vice president, Pharmaceutical Operations, leading Abbott’s commercial pharmaceutical business in the United States. She was appointed to this position in August 2007.
Previously, she served as vice president, Commercial Pharmaceutical Operations, where she was responsible for sales and marketing of many of Abbott's pharmaceutical brands, including HUMIRA.
Szela joined Abbott in 1987 and has held several leadership positions at Abbott, including vice president, Primary Care Commercial Operations; and Vice President of Hospital Business sector, responsible for anesthesia, acute care cardiovascular and pain management pharmaceuticals in Abbott's Hospital Products business (now Hospira).
Prior to joining Abbott, Szela worked for the University of Illinois Hospital.

Leonard joined Abbott in 1992 as head of antiviral drug development where he was responsible for the clinical development of Abbott's protease inhibitors. He held several positions of increasing responsibility in the pharmaceutical R&D organization.

Project Coordinator Heather Gramp has a broad background in project coordination and management, assisting organizations with designing and implementing new programs, strategic planning, feasibility studies, and project evaluations. John Ahern is the President and Chief Executive Officer of NMT Medical, a leading developer of cardiac septal repair implant technologies, brings to Corindus deep experience in the life science industry, with particular expertise in the Cath Lab field. Previously, he served as vice president of emerging technologies for C.R. Bard, Inc., where he was responsible for identifying and integrating emerging technologies into Bard's product portfolio. Ahern's medical device background also includes senior level positions at Abbott Laboratories and Becton Dickinson in both the U.S. and overseas. Additionally, Mr. Florence had matrix management responsibility for the company's nurse clinical applications team, during which time the team grew from 15 to 25 members. Mr. Florence holds a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Northeastern University and an MBA from the Northeastern University Graduate School of Business in Boston.
Matthew Stone brings clients more than 24 years of healthcare and traditional business to business and consumer marketing expertise. He has designed, developed, and executed innovative online and traditional integrated direct marketing campaigns. He has also worked on strategic database product creations that were custom developed for his clients and targeted towards the health care industries, as well as general business and consumer marketplaces. Matt oversees and develops direct marketing campaigns for clients such as Abbott Laboratories, Dey LP (a division of Merck), Medicis Pharmaceuticals, Baxter HealthCare and Centrix Pharmaceuticals. Nick Manusos serves as Vice President of Business Development at Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America (TPNA), Inc. Manusos joined TPNA in July of 2006. His responsibilities include directing Takeda's efforts in partnerships, licensing and alliance management in North America as well as for global Takeda business. Prior to joining TPNA, Manusos worked at TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc. for six years. TAP is a joint venture of Japan-based Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TPC) and Abbott Laboratories. He joined TAP as licensing director in 2000. In that role, Manusos oversaw or personally executed domestic and international research collaborations, technology and device licensing and co-promotion and pharmaceutical compound licensing. Manusos was promoted to vice president of licensing and business development in April of 2004 and was responsible for leading the licensing and business development team and the alliance management team in building TAP's portfolio of products. Manusos joined the Ross Products division of Abbott in 1983. He held various business and operations management positions at Abbott, including business director of Global Generics and Custom Pharma within Abbott's Specialty Products division, and general manager of Abbott Animal Health. He currently sits on the executive board of the Opera Theatre North. Manusos earned a bachelor of business administration degree in operations management from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and a master's degree in business administration at the Kellogg School of Management.

At Rubbermaid, he reduced the carrier base from ~1400 to 23 and implemented $100 million in productivity savings in the last four years. Previous to this, Richardson was Director, North American Distribution for Black & Decker, Inc., with responsibility for distribution strategic planning, customer service, and transportation. His distribution center experience also includes leadership assignments at Phillips-Van Heusen, Adidas, Converse, and Abbott Laboratories. Richardson is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience and an impressive history of warehousing, distribution, and logistical successes. A well known and documented leader in his field, he is recognized for his ability to optimize network and facility designs which result in operations providing superior cost effective service and quality to the customer. Richardson earned his BBA in Marketing from Eastern Michigan University and his MBA from Campbell University.
