The company owns or manages almost 4,000 properties in 140 countries, under the flagship brands Mercure, Novotel, and Sofitel, and the lower-priced brands Ibis, Formule 1, Motel 6 and Red Roof Inns. It has stakes in companies that provide resort operations, casinos, hospitality, and food services. The company has annual revenue of about A7.6 billion and employs about 169,000 people. In March 2006 Accor sold its stake in in Compass Group PLC for A96 million. .
