Active International

Alan S. Elkin, Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, began his career in the media industry at Kaiser Broadcast, which, under his direction as Senior Vice President of Sales, later became Field Communications and then Katz Media Group, the largest media representation firm in the United States. He served as President of the Corporate Barter Council for the International Reciprocal Trade Association, and has been on their board of directors for the past ten years. In 1999, Alan was inducted into the Barter Hall of Fame. He has been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young, and last year received the Averell Harriman International Trade Award and the British American Business Inc. (BABi) Award in recognition of Active's global accomplishments. Alan has made community involvement a priority. Active Cares, a charitable he founded, has provided contributions to over 400 charities. In 2005, he received the Medal of Honor from Good Samaritan Hospital for this work.

Alan Brown is Executive Vice President of Worldwide Media for Active and is responsible for a global team of media specialists who place electronic media for the company's worldwide client base. With more than 28 years of media experience at Active, as well as at Admerex (Advertising Merchandise Exchange), Alan's leadership has been instrumental in creating the long-term relationships with the media community that have enabled Active to deliver integrated media solutions to clients.

Al is Senior VP of Innovation and Strategy at Active International and a part of the ideation and strategy team tasked with developing integrated marketing and media solutions for a wide range of clients and brands. His focus is to provide recommendations that extend a brand's reach beyond traditional media and into digital and emerging media channels. Active International is the global leader in corporate trade and allows companies to use their assets to partially pay for a wide range of media, marketing and business solutions. Prior to Active, Al was at Atmosphere BBDO, where he provided strategic leadership in new and emerging media for clients including Target, Dial, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, AOL and HBO. Previously, he was with OgilvyOne, where he led accounts for IBM, LG and AT&T wireless. Prior to OgilvyOne, he held a variety of leadership positions at USWeb/CKS and Gap Inc. Al has 15 years of digital marketing experience.

Sharon Marshall is General Counsel of Active International, managing and overseeing legal operations worldwide. Sharon's corporate counsel experience with leading companies in the insurance, health and managed care industries, combined with her extensive corporate trade experience, has enabled her to streamline the negotiation process to ensure that Active's clients can focus on achieving their business goals.

Adrie Reinders began his entrepreneurial career in the I.T. field in 1975 when he founded Microlife B.V. Adrie sold the business once it was 500 employees large, with an annual revenue of 22.5 millon euro. Next he founded Rijnhaave, an I.T. firm specializing in systems integration. During the 1989-1991 period he negotiated and executed 6 successful acquisition transactions in the Netherlands and the United States leading to the rapid growth and development of the business. On selling the company in 1996 to British Telecom's Syntegra, he continued as a Syntegra Board member till 2001. Following the sale of Rijnhaave, Adrie founded another IT Business Plus Integration Supply Chain Solutions B.V. in 1997. Customers consisted of major pharmaceutical manufacturers based in the U.S. as well as many of the largest retailers in Europe. Throughout his professional career Adrie has served as an advisor and board member for numerous successful private and public companies including Residex Ventures, as Chairman. As one of the founders of OHM Inc., Adrie is fiercely committed to assisting technology companies achieve quicker and more effective sales results by offering his considerable expertise, experience and access to his global network of high level business contacts. Adrie is Chairman of the Board for Blue Blood (Fashion) and member of the board of Active International and Triton Distribution Systems. Furthermore, he is co-founder of the E.Factor (www.e-factor.biz) and Cranevision (www.cranevision.biz). Next to all other activities, Adrie has co-authored the book "The N Factor - how Networking can change the dynamics of your business", published in May 2007.
