Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Andy Reddick has been director of Acura since August 2004 and President and Chief Executive Officer since August, 2003. From April 2000 to September, 2002 Mr. Reddick was Chief Operating Officer and Sr. Vice President of Commercial Operations for Adolor Corporation. Adolor is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on opioid receptor technology and related product development and commercialization. From June, 1999 to March, 2000 Mr. Reddick was President of Faulding Laboratories, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical division focused on commercializing branded opioid analgesics and related products. From August, 1996 to June, 1999, he was Executive Vice President Marketing, Sales and Business Development with Purepac Pharmaceuticals, a major developer, manufacturer and distributor of generic pharmaceuticals, including a broad range of controlled substances. In addition, Mr. Reddick served for more than 20 years on the management team and in senior level roles at Burroughs Wellcome Co., an international pharmaceutical company based in the United Kingdom. Mr. Reddick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of California and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

Peter Clemens has been Senior Vice President Investor and Media Relations, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary since April 2004. Mr. Clemens was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of the Company from February 1998 to March 2004. From February, 1988 until joining the Company, Mr. Clemens was employed by TC Manufacturing Co., Inc. ("TC") which, through its various subsidiaries and divisions, manufactures generic pharmaceuticals, industrial coatings and flexible packaging. Mr. Clemens was TC's President from February 1996 through February 1998. Prior to that time, he held the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Clemens is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a B.B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Indiana University.

Bob Jones has been Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since April 7, 2008. From May 2003 to March 2008, Mr. Jones served first as Vice President, Finance and then as Vice President, Strategy and Business Analysis of Adolor Corporation , a biopharmaceuticals company. From November 2000 to May 2003, he served as Vice President, Finance and then as Chief Operating Officer of Opt-e-scrip, Inc., a privately held personalized medicine company where he was responsible for all commercialization activities. Prior to that Mr. Jones was Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Purepac Pharmaceutical Company. Prior to his experience with Purepac, Mr. Jones was Vice President, Marketing and Business Development for Endeavor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and during the course of nine years with Burroughs Wellcome Company, he held several roles of increasing responsibility in the finance and marketing departments. Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.

Ron Spivey has been Senior Scientific Advisor since January 1, 2009. He previously was Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer since April, 2004. From June, 2003 to March, 2004 Dr. Spivey was President of Gibraltar Associates, a private company providing consulting services to the pharmaceutical industry relating to product research and development. From March, 1998 to May, 2002 he served as Vice President, Scientific Affairs for Alpharma / Purepac Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, Dr Spivey has served in a number of senior level scientific and leadership positions at Zenith Goldline Pharmaceuticals, Cima Labs Inc., Marion Merrell Dow, Burroughs Wellcome Company and Warner Chilcott Division of Warner Lambert. Dr. Spivey holds a BA degree from Indiana University and a Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics from the University of Iowa.

Albert W. Brzeczko, Ph.D., has been Vice President, Technical Affairs since February 2009. From 1999 through 2009, Dr. Brzeczko was Vice President, Global Pharma New Product Development and Pharma Technologies for International Specialty Products, Inc., a contract services group specializing in the development of technologies for the bioenhancement of poorly soluble drugs. Prior to 1999, Dr. Brzeczko held various positions of increasing responsibility in pharmaceutical product development with UPM Pharmaceuticals, Banner Pharmacaps, Mylan Laboratories, and DuPont Merck. Dr. Brzeczko received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Maryland.

Garth Boehm, Ph.D., is our Vice President of Modified Release Dosage Form Development commencing May 11, 2009. From 2005 to April 2008, Dr. Boehm was Vice President of Product Development at Actavis Pharmaceuticals. From May 2004 to 2005 he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for Able Laboratories, Inc., a pharmaceutical company and from October 1996 until April 2004 Dr. Boehm was Vice President, Product Development for Purepac Pharmaceutical Company. Dr. Boehm received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical and inorganic chemistry and a Ph.D. in physical and inorganic chemistry from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Age 59.

Jim Emigh has been Vice President of Marketing and Administration since April 2004. Mr. Emigh joined the Company in May 1998, and has served in various Sr. management positions including Executive Director of Customer Relations, Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. From 1991 until joining the Company, Mr. Emigh was employed by Organon, Inc., a pharmaceutical company, in various management positions including Director of Managed Care and Trade Relations. Jim is a Registered Pharmacist and holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Washington State University and a MBA from George Mason University.

Bob Seiser has been Vice President, Treasurer and Corporate Controller since April 2004. Prior to that time, Mr. Seiser was the Company's Treasurer and Corporate Controller. From 1992 until joining the Company in March 1998, Mr. Seiser served as Treasurer and Corporate Controller of TC Manufacturing Co., Inc., a privately held company based in Evanston, Illinois, which through its various subsidiaries and divisions, manufactured generic pharmaceuticals, industrial coatings and flexible packaging. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant, was employed at KPMG Peat Marwick - Chicago, and earned a B.B.A. degree from Loyola University of Chicago.

Immanuel Thangaraj has been a director of Acura since December, 2002. Mr. Thangaraj has been a Managing Director of Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, a venture capital firm specializes in the healthcare industry, since 1997. He serves as a director of private companies. Prior to joining Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, he helped establish a telecommunication services company, for which he served as its CEO. Mr. Thangaraj holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

John Gilkay has been the Director of EHS & Engineering since April 2004. Prior to that time Mr. Gilkay was Director Environmental Affairs, Health and Safety at the Culver, Indiana facility. From September 1993 until joining the Company in April 2000 Mr. Gilkay was employed by Laidlaw Environmental Services/Safety-Kleen managing environmental multimedia, health and safety, and transportation compliance for several facilities in Southern California. Mr. Gilkay has also held positions with Johnson & Johnson, Merck CPC, W.R. Grace and Angus Biotech in a variety of production, engineering and EHS compliance roles. John is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Ron Leech has been the Senior Director Quality & Analytical Chemistry since May 2004. Prior to that time Mr. Leech was Director of Analytical Chemistry. Mr. Leech's current responsibilities include leadership of the Company’s programs for analytical method development and validation, quality control, quality assurance and product stability testing. Prior to joining the company in April 2002 Mr. Leech held positions at ILEX Oncology, DPT Laboratories and PPD/Pharmaco. Mr. Leech's background includes biopharmaceutical oncology, development of novel dermatological products for use in the field of burn management, contract manufacturing, contract analytical services, and medical devices. Ron holds a BS degree in Biochemistry from Edgewood College in Madison, WI.

Bill Skelly has been a director of Acura since May, 1996 and was Chairman of Acura from October, 1996 through June, 2000. Since 1990, Mr. Skelly has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Central Biomedia, Inc. and its subsidiary Sera, Inc. These companies are involved in the animal health industry including veterinary biologicals and custom manufacturing of animal sera products. From 1985 to 1990, Mr. Skelly served as President of Martec Pharmaceutical, Inc., a distributor and manufacturer of human generic prescription pharmaceuticals. Mr. Skelly holds a B.A. degree from Michigan State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mr. Skelly serves on Acura's Audit Committee.

Bill Sumner has been a director of Acura since August, 1997. From 1974 until his retirement in 1995, Mr. Sumner held various positions at Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of pharmaceutical products, including Vice President and General Manager, Dermatology Division from 1991 through 1995, Vice President, Strategic Business Development, from 1989 to 1991 and Vice President, Marketing from 1985 to 1989. Since his retirement from Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Mr. Sumner has been a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Sumner holds a B.A. degree from Montclair State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Virginia.
