Ray is originally from Manitoba, where he attended the University of Manitoba. Ray's academic background included study in the Faculties of: Commerce (Management Information Systems), Science (Zoology/Botany), Agriculture (Soil Science), and a MSc. in Soil Chemistry and Fertility from the department of Soil Science. Ray's graduate work included the development of copper recommendations for Manitoba Agriculture. Ray started work in the fertilizer industry with Sherritt Fertilizers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and later included a move to Edmonton, Alberta, with Sherritt Fertilizers. Sherritt evolved into the fertilizer/supplier/manufacturer, Viridian, which later merged with Agrium. Ray currently resides in Calgary, Alberta, where he continues work in the areas of fertilizer research and development, education and extension. Ray practises in the broad area of soil and crop fertility, and specifically in field scouting and crop diagnostics.

The Honourable A. Anne McLellan is a former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and has held several senior cabinet positions, including federal Minister of Natural Resources, Minister of Health, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and federal interlocutor of Métis and non-status Indians. Prior to entering politics in 1993, Ms. McLellan was a law professor and administrator at the University of Alberta. Since leaving politics, she has been appointed distinguished scholar in residence at the University of Alberta in the Institute for United States Policy Studies and counsel in the national law firm of Bennett Jones, LLP. Ms. McLellan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Law degree from Dalhousie University, and a Master of Laws degree from King's College, University of London. In 2007, Ms. McLellan completed the Directors' Education Program through the Corporate Governance College. Ms. McLellan also serves on the boards of the Royal Alexandra Charitable Foundation and the Edmonton Airport Authority.

"Russ Girling is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TC PipeLines GP, Inc. (general partner of TC PipeLines, LP). He is also President, Pipelines of TransCanada Corporation, where he has overall responsibility for TransCanada Corporation’s regulated businesses, including gas and oil pipelines in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Girling was Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer of TransCanada. He had overall responsibility for finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, risk management, corporate strategy, corporate development, investor relations and project evaluation.
Mr. Girling was responsible for TransCanada’s $4 billion debt reduction and balance sheet restructuring during 2000. Through 2001, he was also President of TransCanada Gas Services and was responsible for its ultimate disposition. Mr. Girling was Executive Vice-President, Power where he had overall responsibility for the creation and management of the TransCanada subsidiary, TransCanada Power, including the creation of TransCanada Power, L.P. Prior to joining TransCanada in 1994, Mr. Girling held several marketing and management positions at Suncor Inc., Northridge Petroleum Marketing and Dome Petroleum.
He is currently a Director of Agrium Inc. He is the former Chairman of TransCanada Power, L.P and a former Director of Bruce Power Inc. Mr. Girling is a Director of the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic and was a member of the United Way Campaign from 2002-2004. He is also a former Director of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Fund, the Power Pool of Alberta and Junior Achievement.
Mr. Girling holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Calgary."
Mr. Horner, 58, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Catalyst Paper Corporation. He joined Agrium’s Board in 2004.
