Daniel L. Smith is a Raytheon Company vice president and president of Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business. He was appointed to this position in September 2003. As president of IDS, Smith is responsible for the operational excellence, citizenship and growth of the business. Major locations are Massachusetts, Rhode Island, California, Colorado, Louisiana,Mississippi,Washington, New Mexico, Alabama, Hawaii, Germany, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Japan. Smith is also a member of the Northeastern University Board of Overseers and the Massachusetts Business Roundtable. He co-chaired the Blue Ribbon commission for math and science education with the governor of Rhode Island. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Chapman University in Orange, Calif.
