Rocky Wiggins, senior vice president and chief information officer, joined AirTran Airways in September 2000. In this position, Wiggins oversees the airline’s IS department as well as the internal and external computer and telephone systems. In addition, the airline’s reservations department and its three Georgia-based call centers report to Wiggins. With more than 30 years of experience in the airline industry, Wiggins previously served as vice president of delivery management at Sabre, where he was responsible for the implementation of Sabre’s Airline Support Systems, including the scheduling, pricing, yield management, frequent traveler and crew planning systems. Wiggins began his airline career in 1975 at Air Kentucky Airlines. After joining US Airways in 1979, he served in several management roles including senior director of market planning information systems. A native of Owensboro, Ky., Wiggins studied engineering at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., and physics at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. With more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry, Jack Smith served as vice president - global operations for Northwest Airlines where he oversaw the execution of multiple cargo and postal product lines at 165 locations throughout the world. He began his tenure at Northwest Airlines in 1992 as vice president - customer service. In addition, Hutcheson completed international marketing studies at St. Peter's College, Oxford University, and the International Business Institute in Europe. Hutcheson also earned an MBA from Wake Forest University. As a public speaker, Hutcheson has delivered key addresses at the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, the Public Relations Society of America Conference, the American Marketing Association, and the American Association of Advertising Agencies. In addition, Hutcheson frequently lectures on business related issues at schools such as Emory University, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest University and The Wharton School of Business. Hutcheson is a graduate of Bristol Leadership Tomorrow and Leadership Atlanta. In 2008, Hutcheson will serve as Chairman of the Board of Leadership Atlanta. Hutcheson belongs to several professional organizations such as ASTA, AASMA, NAAPRA, NBTA, and SKAL and serves on several marketing advisory boards such as the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau marketing committee. Geoffrey T. Crowley was elected to our board in June 2008. Mr. Crowley is president of Northshore Leasing. Crowley was a founder of Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation (AWAC).Prior to his current position, Crowley served as chairman, president and CEO of AWAC, leading the company during its growth from 12 aircraft and revenues of $100 million to more than 80 aircraft and over $700 million in revenue at its peak. In addition, Crowley served as vice president of marketing alliances at Northwest Airlines. Crowley has a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., with a focus on Transportation. He received his M.B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Crowley was appointed by President Clinton and confirmed by the Senate to serve on the FAA's first Management Advisory Council. He was also appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to serve on a committee to examine the state's transportation infrastructure.
