Robert L. Fornaro is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AirTran Holdings, Inc., and its subsidiary, AirTran Airways, Inc. In addition, he serves on the company’s board of directors. Fornaro joined AirTran Airways in March 1999 as president and CFO. He was named chief operating officer and elected to the board of directors in 2001. Fornaro became chief executive officer on Nov. 1, 2007. Fornaro has 30 years of marketing, planning and management consulting experience. Prior to joining AirTran Airways, he operated a successful aviation consulting practice. From 1992 to 1997, Fornaro served as senior vice president - planning for US Airways where he directed the company's route planning, pricing and revenue management and overall corporate strategy. Before joining US Airways, Fornaro held the position of senior vice president - marketing planning at Northwest Airlines. His responsibilities included managing Northwest's international alliances and regional airline partner relationships. Prior to Northwest, Fornaro was senior vice president - marketing and planning at Braniff, Inc. Fornaro also served as vice president - research for Jesup & Lamont Securities, Inc. and director of future schedule planning for Trans World Airlines. A native of Long Island, N.Y., Fornaro attended Rutgers College in New Brunswick, N.J., on a lacrosse scholarship and earned a bachelors degree in economics. He also received a masters degree in city and regional planning from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. He is a director of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Georgia Aquarium. Fornaro and his wife, Karen, reside in Orlando and have three adult children.

Arne Haak, senior vice president of finance, treasurer and chief financial officer of AirTran Airways, joined AirTran in 1999 and has worked over the last nine years in a variety of roles in finance and Investor Relations. Arne became vice president of finance and treasurer in January 2006. In his position, based in Orlando, he oversees financial planning, financial analysis, treasury, purchasing and investor relations. Arne previously served in management positions with US Airways' Pricing, Yield Management and Revenue Analysis departments, and he has over 15 years experience in the airline industry. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Pennsylvania State University, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Arne is a member of the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP), and he has earned the designation of Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and AFP Honors in 2007. Arne is a resident of Winter Springs, Florida where he lives with his wife and three children. Haak is fluent in both English and Swedish.

Mr. Osterberg has more than 20 years of financial and accounting experience, much of that time spent in the airline industry, having worked in public accounting and serving as the chief accounting officer for several public companies. He has a broad background and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and financial reporting. Prior to joining AirTran Airways, Mr. Osterberg served as chief accounting officer for La Quinta Corporation. In addition, Mr. Osterberg has extensive airline experience, having served as chief accounting officer for Northwest Airlines and chief financial officer for Sun Country Airlines. Mr. Osterberg also has public accounting experience, including nine years with the accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche USA LLP) and served on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council, a senior advisory group to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Mr. Osterberg received a BBA in Economics from Southern Methodist University, an MA in Economics from Rice University and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Florida. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant.

Rocky Wiggins, senior vice president and chief information officer, joined AirTran Airways in September 2000. In this position, Wiggins oversees the airline’s IS department as well as the internal and external computer and telephone systems. In addition, the airline’s reservations department and its three Georgia-based call centers report to Wiggins. With more than 30 years of experience in the airline industry, Wiggins previously served as vice president of delivery management at Sabre, where he was responsible for the implementation of Sabre’s Airline Support Systems, including the scheduling, pricing, yield management, frequent traveler and crew planning systems. Wiggins began his airline career in 1975 at Air Kentucky Airlines. After joining US Airways in 1979, he served in several management roles including senior director of market planning information systems. A native of Owensboro, Ky., Wiggins studied engineering at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., and physics at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. He earned a master of business administration from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Wiggins currently lives in Douglasville, Ga., with his wife and four children.

Steven A. Rossum joined AirTran Airways in September 2008 as executive vice president of corporate development. In this position, Rossum will be focused primarily on corporate strategy, corporate finance, fleet planning, aircraft financing and other strategic transactions. This is Rossum’s second stint at AirTran Airways as he previously served as the airline’s vice president and treasurer from 1999 to 2001 where he oversaw corporate finance and treasury activities including the airline’s 2001 leveraged recapitalization. With over 20 years of experience, Rossum has negotiated transactions with all major airframe and engine manufacturers and most leading aircraft lessors and financiers. Rossum returns to AirTran Airways from ASTAR Air Cargo, where he served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel of the cargo airline. Rossum’s prior work experience includes serving as senior vice president and general counsel of Reno Air and assistant general counsel at US Airways and World Airways. Rossum has participated as a finance executive or lawyer in several airline turnarounds, mergers, divestitures, and a wide variety of aviation finance activities. He previously practiced aviation and finance law at major law firms in Atlanta and has been a lecturer to industry groups on a variety of aviation and finance topics. A native of New York City, Rossum earned his B.A. (Romance Languages) and B.S. (Accounting) degrees from Binghamton University of the State University of New York and his J.D. degree from the Emory University School of Law. Rossum has also been an adjunct professor at Emory University. He currently lives in Orlando, Florida, with his wife, Adina Fleeger, and their three children.

Alfred J. "Jack" Smith III, senior vice president of customer service, joined AirTran Airways in April 2002. He is responsible for customer service, security, airport operations, baggage service, inflight service, catering and cargo. With more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry, Jack Smith served as vice president - global operations for Northwest Airlines where he oversaw the execution of multiple cargo and postal product lines at 165 locations throughout the world. He began his tenure at Northwest Airlines in 1992 as vice president - customer service. In the mid-1980s, Smith served as director of customer service, prior to serving as director of inflight service for Midway Airlines. Smith began his airline career at Eastern Air Lines in 1974 where he held various positions before joining Altair Airlines as director of inflight service. Smith earned a bachelor of science degree at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y., and a master of business administration degree from Manhattan’s New York Institute of Technology. He resides in Atlanta with his wife and two sons.

Richard Magurno, senior vice president – general counsel and corporate secretary, joined AirTran Airways in August 2000. He oversees the airline’s legal affairs and serves as corporate secretary for the board of directors. Magurno has an extensive aviation legal background, most recently operating a private aviation consulting practice. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and general counsel of Trans World Airlines. From 1989 to 1994, he was a partner in the law firm of Lord, Day & Lord, Barrett Smith in New York. Magurno began his airline career in 1970 as a staff attorney at Eastern Air Lines. In 1980, Magurno was appointed vice president - legal, and was named assistant secretary for Eastern. In 1984, he was promoted to senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Eastern Air Lines. Magurno, a native of Suffern, New York, earned a bachelor of science from Georgetown University in Washington D.C, a master of arts from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., and a juris doctorate from Bronx, New York’s Fordham University School of Law. Magurno is a member of the bar of the states of New York and Florida, and he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and several federal appellate and district courts. He currently lives in Miami, Fla.

Jim Tabor, Vice President, Operations, joined AirTran Airways in 2001. He is responsible for system operations control (SOC), dispatch, charter operations, crew planning and scheduling, operations analysis, and ATC/Airfield operations. Tabor previously served as Senior Director – SOC for America West Airlines. He started his aviation career in 1981 as a station agent for Piedmont Airlines in Roanoke, Va. By the mid-1990’s, Tabor was leading planning, operational, and crew resources functions for US Airways as Senior Director of Operations. Tabor earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College in Wollaston, Mass. He also possesses an Aircraft Dispatcher certificate. Tabor has two daughters: one resides in Columbus, Ohio, and the other and her family reside in Algonquin, Illinois. He and his wife currently live in Orlando, Fla.

Peggy Sauer-Clark, vice president of Inflight service, joined AirTran Airways in 2003. Sauer-Clark oversees the Inflight department and catering operations at AirTran Airways. Sauer-Clark possesses 25 years of aviation experience, including 19 years with Northwest Airlines, Inc. During her tenure there, Sauer-Clark held several positions, most recently, director of labor relations-flight. In 2006, Sauer-Clark was the recipient of the AirTran Airways Chairman’s Award for her demonstration of outstanding leadership within the company. Sauer-Clark earned a bachelor of science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. A native of Darlington, Wisconsin, Sauer-Clark currently lives in Marietta, GA with her husband, Dan and their three daughters.

Tad Hutcheson, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, joined AirTran Airways in 1997. Hutcheson oversees marketing, sales, partnerships, public relations, charitable giving, community relations, the loyalty program, and the company’s Web site, airtran.com. Prior to AirTran Airways, Hutcheson served as director of strategic planning and later vice president of marketing for KIWI International Air Lines. Hutcheson also worked in both the planning and marketing departments at Delta Air Lines where he served on Leadership 7.5. A native of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., Hutcheson graduated from The McCallie School in Chattanooga. He received a bachelor of arts from King College where he majored in both French literature and business administration. In addition, Hutcheson completed international marketing studies at St. Peter's College, Oxford University, and the International Business Institute in Europe. Hutcheson also earned an MBA from Wake Forest University. As a public speaker, Hutcheson has delivered key addresses at the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, the Public Relations Society of America Conference, the American Marketing Association, and the American Association of Advertising Agencies. In addition, Hutcheson frequently lectures on business related issues at schools such as Emory University, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest University and The Wharton School of Business. Hutcheson is a graduate of Bristol Leadership Tomorrow and Leadership Atlanta. In 2008, Hutcheson will serve as Chairman of the Board of Leadership Atlanta. Hutcheson belongs to several professional organizations such as ASTA, AASMA, NAAPRA, NBTA, and SKAL and serves on several marketing advisory boards such as the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau marketing committee. A resident of Atlanta, Ga., Hutcheson is involved in the community and serves on the Boards of the Atlanta Business League, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, King College, Leadership Atlanta, the Metro Atlanta Arts and Culture Commission, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and Oglethorpe University. Hutcheson is a member of The Church of the Apostles. The Atlanta Airport Rotary Club named Hutcheson a Paul Harris Fellow.

Jeff Miller, General Manager, Flight Operations, joined AirTran Airways in May of 1996. He oversees Flight Operations. Jeff has more than 30 years experience in aviation both in management and flying positions. Jeff's prior position at AirTran Airways was Director of Flight Standards. He is a Captain on the B-717 aircraft and prior to joining AirTran Airways, Jeff served in the Air Force for 20 years. Jeff received a bachelor of science degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and a master of science degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Jeff, his wife, Felicity, and children reside in Orlando, Florida.

Loral Blinde, senior vice president – human resources and administration, oversees the airline’s employee relations, recruiting, compensation and benefits, payroll, leadership development, total quality, safety and insurance. He also oversees properties and facilities. He joined AirTran Airways in June 1999. Blinde previously served as vice president of human resources for CUNA Mutual Group. Prior to CUNA, he held several positions at Northwest Airlines, Inc., including director, education & safety; director, education & labor relations; and director, human resources. Additionally, he has experience as regional manager of human resources at Frito-Lay and director of human resources, manufacturing services and legal counsel at Sinclair & Valentine, L.P. Blinde began his career with the State of Iowa as assistant director of employee relations. Blinde, a native of Iowa, earned a bachelor of arts in political science, a jurist doctorate and a master of arts in industrial relations and human resources from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He is a member of the Central Florida Junior Achievement Board of Directors. He and his wife live in Orlando, Fla.

Mr. Michas is a co-founder of Stonington Partners and has served as its Managing Partner since inception. He has been engaged in private equity investing since 1984, having served as an investment professional with Merrill Lynch Capital Partners from 1984 to 1994. Previously, he had been an investment banker with Merrill Lynch & Co. He is currently a director of the following Stonington portfolio companies: Goss International Corporation, HK Systems, Inc., Global Motorsport Group, Inc., and Lincoln Educational Services Corporation. Mr. Michas received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.A. from Harvard College.

Don L. Chapman has served on our board of directors since 1994. Mr. Chapman has served as chairman of ChapCo Investments, LLC, an investment company, since March 2005. From March 2000 until January 2001, Mr. Chapman also served as president and chief executive officer of Legacy Capital Investments, an investment advisory company. From March 1999 until April 2000, Mr. Chapman served as president of S&S Tug Manufacturing Company, a ground support equipment manufacturer which acquired that business from Tug Manufacturing Corporation. For more than five years prior to March 1999, Mr. Chapman was chief executive officer and principal of Tug Manufacturing Corporation. He served as chief executive officer of Opti World, Inc., an optical superstore chain, from 1983 (when he founded that company) until 1995. G. Peter D’Aloia has served on our board since 2004. Since February of 2000, Mr. D’Aloia has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of American Standard Companies, a global, diversified manufacturer of air conditioning systems and services, bath and kitchen products and vehicle control systems. Prior to joining American Standard Companies, Mr. D’Aloia served over a 27-year period in various executive capacities at AlliedSignal, Inc. and its successor company Honeywell International, Inc., most recently serving as vice president-business development. Among the positions he held were vice president-taxes, vice president and treasurer, vice president and controller, and vice president and chief financial officer for the engineered materials sector of AlliedSignal. Geoffrey T. Crowley was elected to our board in June 2008. Mr. Crowley is president of Northshore Leasing. Crowley was a founder of Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation (AWAC).Prior to his current position, Crowley served as chairman, president and CEO of AWAC, leading the company during its growth from 12 aircraft and revenues of $100 million to more than 80 aircraft and over $700 million in revenue at its peak. In addition, Crowley served as vice president of marketing alliances at Northwest Airlines. Crowley has a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., with a focus on Transportation. He received his M.B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Crowley was appointed by President Clinton and confirmed by the Senate to serve on the FAA's first Management Advisory Council. He was also appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to serve on a committee to examine the state's transportation infrastructure.

J. Veronica Biggins has served on our board of directors since 2001. She is a partner with Hodge / Niederer / Cariani / Lindsay. Based in Atlanta, Veronica is an active member of the Board of Directors functional practice, the Financial Services industry practice, and the Not-for-Profit practice. She also leads the Diversity Practice. Prior to joining Hodge / Niederer / Cariani / Lindsay, Veronica served as managing partner of Heidrick & Struggles International, an executive search firm, since 1995. Her background includes 20 years of experience with NationsBank (now Bank of America) and its predecessor, The Citizens and Southern National Bank. Ms. Biggins also serves as a director (since 1997) of Avnet Corporation, a distributor of semiconductors, components and computer products. Committees Compensation Committee

Lewis H. Jordan has served on our board of directors since 1993. Mr. Jordan is the owner and principal officer of Wingspread Enterprises, an investment and consulting firm which he founded in August 1997 and is also involved in other passive investment activities. Mr. Jordan served as our president and chief operating officer from June 1993 until November 1997. Until November 1996, Mr. Jordan also served as president and chief operating officer of our operating subsidiary. He served as president and chief operating officer and as a director of Continental Airlines from 1991 to 1993 and served as executive vice president of that company from 1986 to 1991. Michael P. Jackson was elected to our board in February 2009. Mr. Jackson is President and founder of Firebreak Partners, LLC. Mr. Jackson has extensive experience in executive positions in both the private sector and the federal government. From early 2005 through October 2007, he was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, Mr. Jackson was the Department’s chief operating officer, with responsibility for managing day-to-day operations at DHS. Formed in 2003, DHS has some 210,000 employees, with an annual budget in FY 2006 of $48.5 billion. Its seven operating components and over twenty supporting organizations span the range of homeland security missions, including counter-terrorism, emergency management, law enforcement, research and development and intelligence analysis. Mr. Jackson served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) from May 2001 to August 2003. His tenure there was particularly focused on DOT’s response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including creation of the new Transportation Security Administration and management of recovery efforts for the nation’s aviation industry. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for Amtrak and was chairman of its Audit Committee. At both departments, Mr. Jackson’s duties as Deputy Secretary focused on executive recruitment, strategic planning, technology and systems acquisition, budget and program oversight, substantial policy coordination within the Administration, frequent Congressional testimony, and interface with key partners, including foreign governments, state and local officials, infrastructure operators, industry groups and the media. Mr. Jackson also held positions working for two earlier Presidents. In the Administration of President George H. W. Bush, he served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Liaison, and later as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Transportation. From late 2003 to January 2005, Mr. Jackson served as Senior Vice President of AECOM Technology Corporation, a global family of design and engineering firms, where he was responsible for strategic government relations and served as Chief Operating Officer of AECOM’s Government Services Group. In 2004, he was a member of the President's Commission on Implementation of United States Space Exploration Policy, which provided a management roadmap for undertaking NASA’s future missions. Before joining DOT in 2001, Mr. Jackson worked as Chief Operating Officer at Lockheed Martin IMS’s Transportation Systems and Services. IMS’s transportation group provided technology services to toll authorities, freight transportation companies and 35 state governments. From 1993 until 1997, Mr. Jackson was Senior Vice President at the American Trucking Associations, where he managed intermodal, international and technology policy matters. He has been a researcher at the American Enterprise Institute and taught political science at the University of Georgia and at Georgetown University. Mr. Jackson graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. and received a Ph.D. with distinction from the Government Department at Georgetown University in 1985.
