Dow Jones Description

In 1962, a group of golf enthusiasts in Detroit, Michigan opened the first Pro Golf Discount Store a store dedicated to offering the best golf equipment and accessories at a low price. Business was slow at first, but as golf's popularity rose with newcomers Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, Pro Golf's sales began to rise. By mid-1975, Pro Golf decided to try its hand at franchising. Today, Pro Golf has stores in over 25 states and several countries. With over 40 years of experience, Pro Golf is the oldest, as well as the largest golf retailer in the world. Pro Golf also manufactures its own private label merchandise and works with other manufacturers to design products exclusively for Pro Golf. Pro Golf has been named the #1 Franchisor in the Golf Stores category by Entrepreneur magazine 13 times in the last 16 years. We have also been named the Top Golf Retailer by Franchise Times Magazine for the past 12 years.
