Dr. Alam joined Akorn in 1997. * Dr. Alam has a strong technical background with respect to Chemistry Manufacturing and Control, Preclinical and Clinical research on drug development including putting deals with global and domestic partners. * Prior to Akorn, Dr. Alam held many Senior Management positions in the pharmaceutical industry and venture businesses such as: EJ Financial, Lyphomed, Fujisawa, American Critical Care, Adria Laboratories, Rohm & Haas and Warren-Teed. * Dr. Alam served as management consultant to NeoPharm, Carbomed, Criticare and Unimed. * Credentials include presentations to the FDA Advisory Committees, 40 published papers, abstracts and presentations; 14 US patents and an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois. * Dr. Alam is on the Editorial Board of American Pharmaceutical Outsourcing. * Holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science, M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Iowa.

- Holding variety of progressively responsible leadership positions in the healthcare industry, Mr. Stern brings to Akorn a proven, successful track record of over 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device areas.

* An accomplished multi-disciplinary executive with 34 years experience, Mr. Silverberg joined Akorn in April 2005. * Mr. Silverberg directs Akorn's manufacturing operations, global Quality Assurance and Research and Development programming. He is responsible for the company's drug product formulation, filling and packaging facilities, warehousing and distribution, Quality / Microbiological / R&D laboratories, as well as Regulatory Compliance / Regulatory Affairs and relationship management with FDA and other domestic and international regulatory authorities. * Mr. Silverberg joined Akorn after a successful, thirty-year career at Abbott Laboratories, where he served at the Director level in several division and corporate level positions – including the Hospital Product Divisions (HPD), Pharmaceutical Products Division (PPD), Abbott Diagnostics Division (ADD) and Corporate Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs. * He directed divisional and corporate support activities for large volume, small volume injectable products and oral dosage drugs, as well as medical device product lines. * He holds a B.S. Biology from Marquette University.

* With over 20 years of broad-based experience in employee relations, training, compensation/benefits design and administration, Mr. Shanahan joined Akorn in 2000 as the company’s first Human Resources executive. * Mr. Shanahan has supported substantial business units, including both headquarters and operating groups and he has led plant start-up teams. * Prior to joining Akorn, he has held progressively responsible management positions in the Human Resources field including: o Manager, Human Resources at Qualex Inc, a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak, where he supported 25 high-volume, technology-based photo-finishing plants, 4000 employees and $600 million in sales. o Additionally, Mr. Shanahan held several positions with Emery Worldwide, Inc, a subsidiary of CNF Inc., where he supported US and Canadian operations with 1500 employees and $400 million in sales. At Emery, Mr. Shanahan developed and implemented manpower planning and management training programs on a corporate level.

* In this position, he provides overall management and leadership to the Manufacturing, Engineering and Contract Services departments and is responsible for strategic and operational planning. * Prior to joining Akorn in 1990, Mr. Stehn served as director of quality assurance and regulatory compliance with Carlisle Laboratories, a division of Rugby Darby. Mr. Stehn spent 11 years in various quality and regulatory positions with Carlisle Laboratories and has over 25 years of combined experience within the sterile pharmaceutical industry including SVP's, ointments, gels and medical devices. * Mr. Stehn holds a bachelor's degree in science with an emphasis on Microbiology and Clinical Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He serves as a member of the Parenteral Drug Association.

John N. Kapoor is a co-founder of Insys and has served as the Chairman of our board of directors since our inception. Dr. Kapoor has served as the President and Chairman of the board of directors of EJ Financial Enterprises, since forming the company in 1990. Dr. Kapoor is also the Managing Partner of Kapoor-Pharma Investments, an investment company that he founded in 2000. Dr. Kapoor serves as the chairman of the board of directors of Akorn, a publicly traded specialty pharmaceutical company, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from March 2001 to December 2002 and from May 1996 to November 1998. Dr. Kapoor also serves as the chairman of the board of directors of Option Care, a specialty pharmaceutical services company, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from August 1993 to April 1996. In addition, Dr. Kapoor serves as chairman of the board of directors of NeoPharm and serves as a member of the board of directors of Introgen Therapeutics, both publicly traded biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Kapoor received his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.S. in pharmacy from Bombay University in India.
