Alaska Air Group and Alaska Airlines
Glenn Johnson is responsible for the Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Real Estate, Strategic Planning and Fuel Administration organizations at Alaska Air Group and Alaska Airlines.
Johnson previously served as executive vice president of airport services and maintenance and engineering, leading the airline’s maintenance, ground operations and airport customer service functions. Before that, he was senior vice president of customer service – airports.
Johnson joined Alaska Airlines in 1982 as a staff auditor and was promoted to director of revenue accounting. In 1991, he left Alaska to become vice president and treasurer of Horizon Air. Johnson later served as the carrier’s senior vice president of customer service, where he was responsible for station operations at 40 airports in the United States and Canada.
Johnson returned to Alaska Airlines and Alaska Air Group in 2003 as vice president of finance and treasurer, where he served until being promoted to his current position.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Johnson worked in public accounting, where he achieved his CPA designation, before entering the airline business.
He resides in Seattle.
Andy Schneider has been senior vice president of customer services since July 2003.. She is responsible for Horizon's largest division, consisting of more than 2,000 employees. She oversees station operations at more than 40 airports covering five states, British Columbia and Alberta. Her responsibilities include services training and customer relations, inflight services, facilities and network services, food and beverage services, airport affairs, and security.
Previously, she worked at Alaska Airlines for 14 years. As staff vice president of station operations and cargo services, Schneider was in charge of the administration and operation of more than 50 stations, cargo sales and cargo operations, and security.
Additionally, Schneider spent six years overseeing inflight services, first as an assistant vice president and later as staff vice president of inflight services and station operations. She began her career as Alaska's manager of financial accounting in 1989. She joined Alaska from the public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Company.
A native of Boise, Schneider holds a business administration degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane.
Tom Gerharter has been senior vice president of operations since August 1995. He is responsible for guiding the maintenance and flight operations divisions. These responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of more than 60 jet and turboprop aircraft.
Prior to this appointment, he served Horizon as vice president, Flight Operations. Gerharter joined Horizon Air in 1983 as a pilot and maintained his flight currency as a Fokker F-28 captain until that aircraft was retired in 2002.
Gerharter is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Art Thomas joined Horizon Air in July 1983 as legal counsel and was elected to the position of general counsel in May 1984. In August 1985 he was elected also to the position of secretary. He was elected vice president in June 1986. In February 1996, Thomas' title was changed to vice president, Legal and Administration, and corporate secretary.
Thomas oversees the legal, benefits, safety and health and support services departments. In addition, his department provides labor relations services to divisions with employees represented by unions.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Thomas is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and served on the legal staff of PACCAR, Inc., a manufacturer of transportation equipment and industrial products from 1972 to 1983.
Celia Sherbeck has been vice president of maintenance and engineering since July 2003. She is responsible for the safety, maintenance, inspection and reliability of Horizon's fleet of jet and turboprop aircraft, and she oversees Horizon's maintenance and engineering professionals based in Portland, Boise, Seattle, Spokane and Pasco.
Prior to that, she was the senior director at Air Canada responsible for leading an initiative to enhance the value of the airline's maintenance and engineering business. Previously, she held several other posts, including general manager of power plant maintenance and general manager of business services technical operations.
Before her assignment at Air Canada, Sherbeck was with Bombardier Aerospace, where she was the vice president responsible for a customer-focused methodology for process redesign and improvement. From 1988 to 1996, she was with General Electric's Aircraft Engines division, where she held several positions of increasing responsibility in engine services, business development and market planning. Previously, she served as vice president for civil aviation for Aerospace Industries of America, a trade association for aerospace manufacturers located in Washington, D.C.
Top airline industry executive and prominent Pacific Northwest community leader David L. Palmer has joined the E-City advisory board. Mr. Palmer currently serves as Assistant Vice President, Marketing, for Alaska Airlines. CEO Anis Jessa elaborated, "David Palmer has been with Alaska Airlines for over 30 years. Gene Hahn has been vice president of flight operations since June 2003. He is directly responsible for flight systems and procedures, dispatch, crew scheduling and training.
Hahn began with Horizon in 2000 as vice president, Maintenance and Engineering.
Before joining Horizon, Hahn worked for Middletown, Pa.-based Allegheny Airlines, a US Airways Express carrier, as vice president of maintenance and engineering.
Prior to that, he spent 14 years at American Eagle/Wings West Airlines, where he held various positions of increasing responsibility – including director and then vice president of flight operations, director of flight training/standards, and vice president of maintenance and engineering. He was also a captain-qualified Saab 340 pilot and check airman for Wings West.
A San Francisco native, Hahn holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, Calif.
Gary is the vice president of flight operations for Alaska Airlines and is a 34-year veteran of the airline industry with over 15,000 flight hours. Before joining Alaska Airlines in January 2008, Gary was senior vice president of flight operations and chief pilot responsible for 2,000 daily departures and 8,500 pilots at six pilot bases. He was also president and CEO of the Delta Connection Academy in Orlando, Fla., one of the largest pilot training facilities in the world. A captain on the Boeing 727, 757 and 767 aircraft, Beck also served as director of flight operations, general manager of flight operations, general manager of domestic operations and chief pilot of its Los Angeles pilot base during his 20-year tenure with Delta Air Lines.

Jennifer Miller is the Manager of the IT Help Desk at Alaska Airlines. She has been with Alaska for 6 years. Her team of 18 includes a Help Desk, an Account Administration Team and a 2nd level support team. She has a passion for customer service and process improvement. She is a trained LEAN workshop facilitator and has her ITIL foundations certification. Outside of work, Jennifer has a passion for travel and enjoys the outdoors.
Carter is a first year member of the U.S. Navy Tailhook Legacy Flight Demonstration Team. He holds an ATP with type ratings in DC9, CE500, F4F, F6F, and A6M. Carter has over 2000 hours in many WWII aircraft, both friend and foe, including the Navy training aircraft N2S "Kaydet", N3N "Yellow Peril", and SNJ "Texan". Additional WWII aircraft include the Polikarpov Po-2 and I-16, Fieseler "Storch", Mitsubishi A6M "Zero", F6F "Hellcat", and FM2/F4F "Wildcat". In addition to sponsoring and flying several CAF (Commemorative Air Force) aircraft, Carter is a demonstration pilot for Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection in Arlington, Washington. He is a formation check pilot for the JLFC (Joint Liaison Formation Committee) and the CAF's TRARON. Carter presently lives in the Seattle Washington area, with his wife Beverly, where he works as a Pilot Instructor for Alaska Airlines. Dan's early passion was photography. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Photography in 1989 and spent several years pursuing the art. His photography has been in galleries and in several publications. He's had a few careers including computer aided manufacturing in the printed circuit industry, systems administration and engineering, and also some sales as a tax consultant. A few of the companies Dan's worked for are HADCO, Alaska Airlines, and Wizards of the Coast. Dan loves to climb and it's something he's enjoyed for nearly 15 years. His absolute passion is ice climbing which he's pursued in places like New Hampshire, Washington State, Colorado, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Since returning to New Hampshire he's focused primarily on ice and mixed climbing and bouldering.
David S. Haddad, Jr. Mr. Haddad is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank. He currently works part time as a Customer Service Supervisor with Alaska Airlines. Prior to joining Alaska Airlines in 2004, Mr. Haddad was retired. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was an Operations Manager at Cutter and Buck, a golf apparel company; a former Senior Manager of Operations at Progressive International, a housewares wholesaler; and a warehouse manager for Associated Grocers.
Jack has long worked in establishing a body of portraits of American Poets and the magazine has featured several of the works along with wonderful examples of verse from selected poets. This a singular vision by one of America's great portraitists and The Loft Galeria is proud to be among those galleries to feature his pure approach to painting which often features the use of black oil on copper.
Janie is a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines. She is sad her baby is moving out, but can't wait for everyone to come to Alaska for the big day!

LESTER BABCOCK is a snow sculptor from Anchorage and an aircraft mechanic for Alaska Airlines. He received first place in the 2001 Alaska State Snow-Sculpting competition and second place in the 1998 National Snow Sculpting competition. He is a nine-time Alaska State champion snow sculptor.
Born in Portland, Oregon in 1968, Captain Maur-Windle is a graduate of Central Washington University. "Big Bend" started his career in 1987 and has 19 years of experience totaling 14,000 hours of flying time. Luke is currently a Captain for Alaska Airlines flying Boeing 737's full time. Luke enjoys outdoor recreation, skiing, barbecue, and travelling to Hawaii.

In 2005 Mark Boyle was commissioned to design the Alaska Airlines Salmon-Thirty-Salmon and is a co-designer of Alaska Airlines "Spirit of Make-a-Wish" and Alaska Airlines 75th Anniversary airplanes. He is a senior designer at Teague Associates Design firm based in Seattle. Additionally, Mark has earned many National Fine Art awards for his oil paintings and has been published in Art Collector, Gray's Sporting Journal, National Wildlife and Southwest Art Magazines. Mark Boyle's work is held in corporate and museum collections, including Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Yellowstone National Park's art collection, Bennington Center for the Arts, Evergreen Hospital, and West Coast Paper. The Contemporary Gallery will feature the works of Robert Motherwell and Robert Frank. Motherwell (1915-1991) is an American Abstract Expressionist and 1936 graduate of Stanford University. This selection of 11 works includes loans from the Marmor Collection in addition to works from the collection. After emigrating from Switzerland in 1947, Robert Frank (born 1924) documented his travels throughout the United States in Drive-by Shooting. With a camera and an old car, Frank began a solitary road trip shooting photos from coast to coast. His black and white photographs of ordinary objects and city scenes encapsulate a sense of loneliness and banality, reflecting Frank's personal experience with American life and landscape. This display of 14 works features examples from The Americans, Frank's most celebrated body of work.

Westside interior designer Lori Erenberg has crafted its modern supper club atmosphere, with banquettes and table seating, in rich, dark woods, mohair and iridescent silk fabrics. Mr. Madsen has been a director since 2003 and serves on the Compensation and Audit Committees. He was President and CEO of Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), a retailer and online merchant for outdoor gear and clothing through March 2005. He served as REI's Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer from 1987 to 2000, and held numerous positions throughout the Company. Mr. Madsen is currently the CEO of Seatab Software of Bellevue, WA. Mr. Thompson has been a member of our Board since April 30, 2007. Mr. Thompson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Star Energy, LLC, a private energy investment firm. He is also Managing Director for the Alaska Venture Capital Group, LLC, a private oil and gas exploration firm. Mr. Thompson previously worked at ARCO (BP), where he served in various technical and management capacities, most recently as Executive Vice President for the Asia-Pacific Region. Mr. Thompson also serves on the boards of the Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation and the Alaska Air Group.
Mr. Knight has been a director since 2002 and serves on the Compensation Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee. He is Executive Vice President of Sempra Energy. Before assuming his current position in 2006, Mr. Knight served from 1999 to 2006 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Regional Camber of Commerce, an organization whose primary focus is economic development. Mr. Knight served from 1993 through 1998 as a commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission, which is responsible for the regulatory oversight of all energy, telecommunications, shipping, railroad and investor-owned utilities in the state. Mr. Knight is also on the Board of Directors of Alaska Airlines, Environmental Power and the San Diego Padres Baseball Club. He is a standing member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Phyllis J. Campbell is lead independent director of Puget Energy and Puget Sound Energy. She has been president and chief executive officer of The Seattle Foundation since 2003. Prior to that she was chair of the Community Board of U.S. Bank, Washington from 2001 to 2003, and was the bank's president from 1993 to 2001. Campbell has been a director of Puget Energy since its incorporation in 1999 and of Puget Sound Energy since 1993. She also serves as a director of Nordstrom, Alaska Air Group, Inc., and Joshua Green Corporation. She is on the Board of Governors of the Washington State University Foundation.
