Liane Pelletier serves as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Alaska Communications Systems (“ACS”) (NASDAQ: ALSK). Since joining the Company in 2003, Ms. Pelletier has rebuilt the executive lead team, reconstructed the Board of Directors, and implemented a new business strategy, operating model and an organization structure to reflect the Company’s strategy, as well as overhauled the Company’s image with investors, customers, employees and the community. Key tenets of the ACS operating model and culture are customer centricity, performance management and continuous process improvement.Under her leadership, the company designed and constructed Alaska’s only statewide 3G CDMA wireless network and marketed mobile voice and data services that contributed to sector leading growth. ACS also introduced innovative wireless-wireline services that are industry-firsts, nationwide. Also under her leadership, the company built Alaska’s only submarine fiber optic cable to travel to the Lower 48 via a secure and different route from the 3 existing cables leaving the state. ACS also purchased one of the 3 existing cables so that ACS now owns and operates 2 cables, one of two carriers in the state with this infrastructure, with ACS’ assets providing material competitive advantage. These submarine assets complement the unique ACS in-state assets of Metro Ethernet, MPLS and fiber rings – all positioning ACS as the leader in end to end data networking capabilities for Enterprise customers.Prior to ACS, Pelletier’s career included 17 years at Sprint as a member of the Executive Management Committee.Pelletier earned her M.S. in Management at the Sloan School of Business at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Wellesley College.
