R. John Welsh, Jr. is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. John is responsible for leading the sales and marketing effort for Allen Interactions and expanding its penetration into Global 2000 and mid-market companies. Before joining Allen Interactions, John came from Zamba Solutions, a leading CRM integration firm, where he helped develop their Sales Optimization and CRM Practice with firms such as Microsoft, Unisys, Aspect, Siebel and Peoplesoft. Before that, he served as Vice President of Business Development for Meritide, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in providing software solutions to the infrastructure management marketplace. John has worked with over 500 organizations during his additional tenure at Portera Systems, Orion Consulting and Control Data. During his time at Portera, he developed the central U.S. delivering software and outsourcing services to manage professional services organizations and generated over $4 million in revenue performance in his first year. At Orion Consulting, he led this entrepreneurial firm that focused on eBusiness Integration and customer relationship management (CRM) to 50 percent sales and profit growth in his tenure. At Control Data, Welsh held various executive management positions in both sales marketing. He was recognized internationally for leading high impact sales and marketing teams and consistently meeting business development objectives. In addition to earning a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from St. John's University, John holds a master's degree in business administration and international management from the University of St. Thomas, as well as additional advanced studies through the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He is past president of the St. John's University Twin Cities Alumni Board and the St. Thomas Academy Alumni Board. He was also a varsity assistant football coach at St. Thomas Academy from 1992-2000, and is currently a high school and college football official.
