Mr. Walton is the Chairman of the Board and an executive officer of Allied Capital. From 1997 until March 2009, Mr. Walton served as Allied Capital’s Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. He has been a director since 1986. Mr. Walton's previous experience includes serving as a Managing Director of Butler Capital Corporation, a mezzanine/buyout firm; the personal investment advisor to William S. Paley, founder of CBS; and a Senior Vice President in Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb's Merger and Acquisition Group. He also founded two education service companies – Language Odyssey and SuccessLab. Mr. Walton currently serves on the boards of directors of The American Enterprise Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Financial Services Roundtable. He is also a member of the Trustees’ Council of the National Gallery of Art. After serving in the U.S. Army as an enlisted specialist at the Pentagon, Mr. Walton completed his B.S. from Indiana University and his M.B.A. from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business.

John M. Fruehwirth is a Managing Director of Allied Capital with over ten years of private equity and merchant banking experience. Mr. Fruehwirth joined Allied Capital in its private finance investment group in 2003. His primary focus is on identifying proprietary opportunities in specialty financial and insurance services companies. In addition, Mr. Fruehwirth has completed numerous investments in value-added distribution and business services firms, as well as in the restaurant and retail industries. He currently serves as a director or observer on a number of Allied Capital portfolio company boards. Prior to joining Allied Capital, Mr. Fruehwirth worked at Wachovia (formerly First Union) in several merchant banking groups including Wachovia Capital Partners, leveraged capital and middle market capital. Before joining Wachovia, Mr. Fruehwirth worked in First Union's leveraged finance group. Prior to business school, he worked for Conoco, Inc. in a variety of operating and financial management positions. Mr. Fruehwirth graduated with a BBA from the University of Wisconsin and holds an MBA from the Colgate Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Prior to joining BB&T Capital Partners, Tom was a Managing Director of Allied Capital Corporation (NYSE: ALD), a publicly traded $4.5 billion business development company. During his 14 year tenure at Allied, Tom directly invested over $500 million in over forty mezzanine and buy-out transactions. He served on ALD's Investment and due diligence committees and was responsible for all aspects of the investment process. Tom served on numerous portfolio company Boards of Directors and assisted with strategic decisions including evaluating acquisitions, financing alternatives and exit opportunities.
