Dean Kappel, Mid-America Transplant Services (Chairman of the Board), Mr. Kappel has been the President/CEO of Mid-American Transplant Services since 1986 and is a Board Member of Isto Technologies. Formerly, he was the President of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO). Mr. Kappel is a social worker by training and resides in Missouri.

Mark J. Simon, UNYTS (Vice Chairman of the Board), Mark Simon is currently the President and CEO of Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS). He has been involved with UNYTS since April 1997 when he started as the Director of Finance. In September 1998 he was promoted to CEO. Mr. Simon holds a B.S. in Accounting from SUNY at Buffalo School of Management and resides in Tonawanda, New York.

Mary Lou March, Mid-America Transplant Services, Ms. March is the CFO of Mid-America Transplant Services and resides in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of the Executive Committee of AOPO and held a variety of positions on other councils and committees of AOPO as well. Ms. March was also on the Finance Committee of UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing). She earned her MBA from Pace University in New York and has been with MTS for 18 years.

Ms. Thompson currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for AlloSource, a non-profit medical device company. Prior to AlloSource, Ms Thompson served as Vice President, Corporate Excellence and Corporate Controller for Molson-Coors. Her experience includes financial and general operating aspects of business operations with expertise in strategic planning, business process improvements and governance. She holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology, a M.S. in Public Administration, and a M.B.A. in Accounting/Finance. She is currently Board Chairwoman elect for the Board of Trustees for 9 News Health Fair and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council.

Mary Rosenberg, Gift of Hope (Secretary / Treasurer of the Board), Ms. Rosenberg is the Vice President of Administration at Gift of Hope. She was formerly with the Illinois Hospital Association.

Valerie Reymann, Vice President, Human Resources, Ms. Reymann has over 15 years experience in Human Resources working in various positions that encompassed a wide range of responsibilities for several major oil and gas firms in Denver. At AlloSource, she is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of policies and programs covering employment, wage and salary management, incentive compensation, training, succession planning, safety, employee relations, benefits, governmental compliance and performance management.

Professor Steven Gitelis, M.D. is the Director of Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center for Limb Preservation; Associate Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Rush Medical College; Past President Musculoskeletal Tumor Society; among other things. Also, he is the Director of the Bone and Tissue Bank of Regional Organ Bank of Illinois and the Director of Orthopaedic Oncology at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center. He has been an invited scholar or visiting professor on more than 150 occasions and delivered more than 90 presentations in no less than 10 countries. Also, he has authored or co-authored more than 60 papers, more than 20 chapters in textbooks, more than 10 manuscripts and more than 45 manuscripts. Dr. Gitelis has conducted research in the field of Life Science and holds several issued patents. Dr. Gitelis is internationally recognized as one of the premiere experts in the field of bone oncology. He has developed pioneering and breakthrough surgical techniques that have advanced the treatment of bone oncology especially with children. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and an M.D. from Rush Medical College.
