For Jeff Montsma, teamwork is the key to offering our members value-added service. Jeff is the Area Field Supervisor at Alto Dairy. He works with the staff in Alto Dairy's labs, communications department, patron department, and other field staff to offer members the best service. Jeff creates and implements member services to improve the profitability of member producers in the areas of price risk management, milk component production and quality. He supervises several field representatives as well as haulers in the Southwest area. Jeff enjoys working as a team with Alto Dairy member-owners. Jeff informs his members about all the different programs and services offered by Alto Dairy. Jeff is a leading industry resource on Forward Milk Contracting. He says, "forward contracting offers members advantages in securing a milk price. Many members have taken advantage of this program to level out their cash flows and lock in their profits." He started with Alto Dairy Cooperative in 1995 as a field representative then served as Alto's Member Service Specialist before his promotion to Supervisor. Jeff holds a BS degree in dairy science from UW-River Falls.
