Richard C. Lappin has served as Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer of Clear Sky Power, an alternative energy company, since January 2007. He retired in 2004 as Chairman of the Board of Haynes International, Inc. Previously, Mr. Lappin served as Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group L.P., where he was a member of the Private Equity Group from 1998 to 2002. He also helped monitor the operations of Blackstone Capital Partners portfolio companies and evaluated business strategy options. From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Lappin served as President of Farley Industries, which included West Point-Pepperell, Inc., Acme Boot Company, Inc., Tool and Engineering, Inc., Magnus Metals, Inc. and Fruit of the Loom, Inc. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Doehler-Jarvis and Southern Fastening Systems, and he has held senior executive positions with Champion Spark Plug Company and RTE Corporation.

John J. Bellanti has worked at four of AAM's manufacturing facilities. He began his career at the Tonawanda Forge plant when it was part of General Motors, progressing through a series of manufacturing management positions until he was appointed area manager for Buffalo Gear & Axle in 1989. He was appointed general superintendent of Production at Detroit Gear & Axle in 1992, and transitioned to AAM as plant manager of Detroit Forge on March 1, 1994. Bellanti was named director, Manufacturing Engineering in 1996, and has served as executive director, Manufacturing Services and vice president, Engineering & Product Development and vice president, Engineering & CTO. Prior to assuming his current position, Bellanti served as group vice president, Manufacturing Services, Capital Planning & Cost Estimating. Bellanti holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the General Motors Institute (GMI) and a master of business administration degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

David Culton, age 43, has been Vice President Unibody Vehicle Business Unit since October 2008. Prior to that, he served as Controller (since April 2007); Executive Director, Sales (since July 2006); Director, Commercial Analysis (since August 2004); Director, Finance Operations (Since June 2003); Finance Manager (since August 1999); and Assistant Finance Manager (since joining our Company in September 1998). Prior to joining our Company, Mr. Culton served at Chrysler Corporation for 10 years in a variety of management, finance, engineering and manufacturing positions.

Kevin M. Smith, age 47, has been Vice President Mexico Operations since December 2007. Prior to that, he served as Plant Manager, Guanajuato Gear & Axle (since February 2007); Executive Director, Manufacturing Engineering (since July 2006); Executive Director, Axle Engineering (since January 2006); Director, GMT 900 Program (since October 2001); Director, Manufacturing Engineering (since June 2001); Plant Manager, Buffalo Gear, Axle & Linkage (since March 2000); Plant Manager, Three Rivers (since February 1998); Manufacturing Manager, Detroit Gear & Axle Plant (since February 1996) and Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Buffalo Gear, Axle & Linkage (since joining our Company in March 1994). Prior to joining our Company, Mr. Smith served at Chrysler Corporation for 10 years in a variety of manufacturing and engineering positions.

Mark S. Barrett joined AAM on March 1, 1994 as a Staff Project Engineer. Since then, he has served in various engineering positions with increasing responsibility including director, Mid Size Axle Programs; executive director, Released & Domestic Programs; executive director, Powertrain, Driveshaft & Halfshaft Engineering; executive director, Axle & Drivetrain; and executive director, Engineering & Global Prototype. Prior to assuming his current position, Barrett served as executive director, Engineering and Product Development. Barrett began his automotive career as a Co-Op student in 1984 for General Motors. Prior to joining AAM in 1994, he served in various Manufacturing and Engineering positions. He served as project engineer for GM's full size truck axles and passenger car axles, as well as senior liaison engineer - Axles at GM's Technical Center and staff project engineer - Driveshafts. Barrett received a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.

Dr. Henry T. Yang is the Chancellor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he also serves as professor of mechanical engineering. Formerly the Dean of Engineering and Neil Armstrong Distinguished Professor in Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University, Dr. Yang is a nationally recognized expert in automotive and aerospace engineering. He holds a Ph.D degree in engineering at Cornell University, as well as four honorary doctorates. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He is an active member of the Executive Committee of the American Association of Universities, the Steering Committee of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, and the Board of Trustees of University Research Association.

Ms. Chappell has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Detroit Economic Club since April 2002. From January 2001 until April 2002, Ms. Chappell served as a business consultant in private practice. Ms. Chappell served as Executive Vice President Corporate Communications and Investor Relations of Compuware Corporation from January 2000 to January 2001. Ms. Chappell was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of The Chappell Group Inc., a consulting firm she founded in 1995 that specialized in strategic planning, organizational development, sales and marketing strategies and the design of customer centered processes. Prior to forming The Chappell Group, Ms. Chappell was employed by AT&T where she held several positions of varying responsibility. Her last position with AT&T was Global Service Vice President. Ms. Chappell holds a BA degree in Marketing from Michigan State University. Ms. Chappell also attended the Executive Management Program at the University of California, Berkeley. Ms. Chappell is also a director of American Axle and Manufacturing.
