Karen Purdy-Reilly is the Director of Food Services for Brigham and Women's Hospital, which serves over 1500 patient meals and 4000 cafeteria transactions per day. A registered dietitian with 20 years experience in healthcare food services, Karen is responsible for food purchasing and food service operational decisions. For the past 4 years, Karen has been spearheading the renovation of the department's kitchens to implement full house Room Service. As part of the Room Service model, healthier menu options have been provided to patients, and have received positive patient feedback. Brigham and Women's is a founding member of the Partners Healthcare System. Karen is active in Partners Healthcare Food Service Advisory Committee, a joint effort by the other Partners Healthcare Food Service Departments to collaborate on projects. Karen is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the National Society for Healthcare Foodservice Management (HFM). She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State College.
Kathy McManus is Director of Nutrition at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Teaching Affiliate of Harvard Medical School in Boston and a Co-Investigator on an NIH funded obesity study, POUNDS Lost. Ms. McManus has participated in numerous research projects, a group leader for the Women's Health Initiative, a co-investigator on an obesity study examining the effects of a moderate fat vs. low fat diet, and her current position as Co-investigator on the POUNDS Lost Study. She has presented her research nationally and internationally, and has authored and co-authored numerous publications and book chapters. Ms McManus is the recipient of the many Distinguished Service Awards, has received the American Dietetic Association's Mary C. Zahasky Scholarship Award, and the Partner's In Excellence Individual and Team Award at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. She serves on a number of leadership committees including the Brigham and Women's Hospital Women's Health Center's Medical Leadership Committee, the Diabetes Advisory Committee, and the Obesity Research Committee. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Heart Association. She holds a B.S. in Nutrition from Simmons College, and an M.S. in Nutrition from Framingham State College.

Laura has a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Central Missouri. After graduation, Laura completed a 9 month internship in order to complete the needed requirements to become a registered dietitian. In addition to working with Pro Partners MD, Laura is a clinical dietitian at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Laura has worked in the hospital setting for 10 years and continues to enjoy working the patients on a one to one basis. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, as well as the local Kansas City Dietetic Association, and is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. Laura is very interested in preventative healthcare and helping people make lifestyle changes through diet modification.
Mr. Katz's professional experience spans consulting and investment banking. Prior to joining WaterHealth, Mr. Katz was a Senior Analyst at Ivory Capital, a $2 billion long/short hedge fund. Mr. Katz also has extensive experience in the technology market through his 5-year tenure as Vice President of the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Montgomery and Co. Previously he was a Senior Associate Consultant for Bain & Company before being appointed Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with Jostens Learning Corporation, a Bain Capital portfolio company focused on educational software development. There, he played an integral role in raising financing and positioning the company for sale. Mr. Katz received his MBA from The Anderson School of Business as a Carter Fellow in 2000 and his B.A. from Dartmouth College with Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa Honors. He serves on the Board of the Venice Boys and Girls Club.

Karen Lechowich, MS, MBA, RD is the Vice President, Diversity and External Relations at the American Dietetic Association. In her position, she works with a variety of international projects such as, the establishment of the ICDA newsletter, Dietetics Around the World, the 2004 XIV International Congress of Dietetics, and establishment of the American Overseas Dietetic Association. In building relationships with other international dietetic associations she fostered joint position papers, publications and professional education programs. She also worked on the development of the ADA's dietetic practice groups, research agenda, and external relations and diversity programs. Prior to working at ADA, Karen was the Dietetic Internship Director at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL and held several clinical and food service positions in the Chicago area. Karen holds a Masters of Business Administration from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois (U.S.) and a Master of Science from Colorado State University, Fort Collins. She served on the Board of Trustees of Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (U.S.) and the Alumni Advisory Council of the Brennan School of Business, Dominican University. She received ADA's Medallion Award and was recognized by the Chicago Dietetic Association as Outstanding Dietitian of the Year.

Brian Lehmann holds the position of Sports Nutritionist for the University of Tennessee Athletics. Lehmann has been affiliated with Tennessee Athletics since July 2001. He came to the UT from Kansas State University as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he earned certification through the College Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. In 2003, Lehmann was promoted to the position of Sports Nutritionist, and currently serves both the men's and women's Athletics in this capacity. He is a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and a Licensed Nutritionist in the State of Tennessee. In addition to his responsibilities in Athletics, he is an instructor in the Department of Nutrition, and takes a hands-on approach to teaching applied sports nutrition to student-athletes. Lehmann is fortunate to have a fine network of nationally recognized Dietitians and Nutritional Scientists available for referral through the Department of Nutrition and the Knoxville District Dietetic Association, including an experienced Eating Disorder Consultant in Karen Wetherall. He and his wife, Miranda live in Maryville and have a son, Eli. Brian Lehmann has achieved Board certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics and may now use the designation, RD, CSSD. To become board certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association (ADA), a registered dietitian must successfully meet rigorous specialty practice requirement and pass a nationally administered examination. Board Certified Specialists in Sports Dietetics work with athletes and active individuals in a variety of settings. With nearly 65,000 members, the American Dietetic Association is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. Catherine received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences (Dietetics) with a minor in Exercise Physiology, specializing in Sports Nutrition at Rutgers University. Framson has been a member of the division of pediatric gastroenterology since 1990. Her areas of interest include the nutritional support of critically ill children, children with gastrointestinal diseases, and the management of children with malnutrition. She recently completed her Doctoral degree in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Nutritionist David Meinz claims it's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year's that matters but what you eat between New Year's and Christmas! He speaks internationally to businesses, associations, churches and religious organizations and is a frequent guest on radio and television including FIT-TV, America's 24-hour health-and-fitness network and The 700 Club. Meinz specializes in consultations and workshops that enable people to improve their health. Diana Davis, MEd, LDN, RD is a holistic Registered Dietitian, licensed nutritionist nationally certified by the American Dietetic Association, and a neuro-linguistic practitioner. She is a wellness educator, health coach and nutrition expert specializing in up-to-minute nutrition therapy, pharmacognosy (i.e., the study of foods as medicine) and phytotherapy (i.e., the study of herbs as medicine). Diana's philosophy is that the "body will follow the mind" and for this reason, to combine cognitive behavioral science with nutrition therapy, Diana has her Master's degree in Counselor Education.
Dina Aburmishan is president and owner of DMA Nutrition Inc. a nutrition private practice company located in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Dina graduated with honors at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. Dina is a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Illinois. She is an active member of the American Dietetic Association, Illinois Dietetic Association, and is the Secretary of the executive board for Nutrition Entrepreneurs. Although new to the dietetic field she has had several years of experience working with weight loss. Dina is dedicated to providing care that will improve the quality of life of her clients. Greg Stephens is vice president of strategic consulting with The Natural Marketing Institute (NMI), Harleysville, PA. Ms. Marlette-Boras brings 20 years of expertise in public health, nutrition, and providing counseling and education services. She has extensive experience in state Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Programs. She also developed strategies for improving the effectiveness of those programs in changing health behavior. Moreover, she examined promotional and communication strategies used by health programs to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of community-based health intervention activities. She has developed Photo novellas for use at inner city schools and has developed numerous other communications and training materials. Ms. Marlette-Boras has hands-on experience in performing nutrition consultation and conducting nutrition-related seminars. She brings experience in using biostatistics and statistical software. She also brings experience in nutrition epidemiology, and studying psychosocial factors in health and illness. Jennifer Stokols, MS, RD graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a master's. Her thesis concerned trans fat use and revealed ways to lower and, in some cases, eliminate trans fats from currently manufactured food products without sacrificing taste. She also received her bachelor's in Nutritional Sciences at Penn State. Jennifer completed her dietetic internship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Jennifer has worked at the Food and Drug Administration as well as at the National Institutes of Health's Nutrition Department during the summers of her undergraduate studies. At Penn State, Jennifer gained research experience as an assistant in Dr. Barbara Rolls Ingestive Behavior Lab and as a metabolic cook at the General Clinical Research Center on campus. During her graduate studies, she worked as the consulting dietitian at her gym as well as the Center for Food Innovation, where she was the food sensory lab technician. An active member of the American Dietetic Association as well as the Northern Virginia Dietetic Association, Jennifer keeps abreast of current nutrition research and findings. A runner and cyclist, herself, she encourages patients and clients to enjoy an active lifestyle everyday while eating fresh, unprocessed foods to fuel their bodies and brains.
Julia Kelly is Vice President, Account Management and Marketing under the inVentiv Commercial Division located in Somerset, New Jersey. In her role, Ms. Kelly leads both the Account Management process for the Commercial business and the marketing effort for all the inVentiv Health companies and divisions. Ms. Kelly brings more than 18 years of progressive healthcare sales and marketing experience to inVentiv Health, including a 15-year career with Mead Johnson Nutritionals, a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb. Ms. Kelly's tenure with Mead Johnson included various progressive leadership roles in both the sales and marketing organizations. Her expertise is built on the promotion of over 55 products, including adult and pediatric medical nutritionals, pharmaceuticals, laboratory tests, medical devices, medical services and other OTC products, to a variety of audiences within the healthcare industry. Since joining inVentiv in 2003, Ms. Kelly is credited with the marketing and PR campaign that repositioned inVentiv Health as provider of a variety of integrated commercialization solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to her career in sales and marketing, Ms. Kelly was a healthcare professional in the field of dietetics, having earned a B.S. in Nutrition from Penn State University. Ms. Kelly remains an active member of the American Dietetic Association and is on the Board of Directors for the metro chapter of the Healthcare Business Women's Association.
Karlyn L. Grimes has a dual Master's degree in nutrition and exercise physiology from Boston University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Colgate University, and is a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. She currently teaches in the Math/Science department at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and is the dietetic internship coordinator for the Simmons College Nutrition Department. Additionally, Karlyn develops and presents sports nutrition and health promotion workshops for various organizations in and around the Boston area, including the John C. Keri Gans is a Registered Dietitian in private practice in Manhattan. She holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University, and is an ACE certified personal trainer. Before working solely in private practice Keri was a clinical staff dietitian at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan and North General Hospital in Harlem. Besides counseling patients, Keri spends a lot of time consulting and public speaking. Presently she can be seen Monday nights on Manhattan public access TV in a nutrition lifestyle program called "Diet Diva". Keri has also appeared on ABC Eyewitness News, Good Morning America, and Discovery Times and is frequently quoted in national publications. Keri is very active in her professional organizations. She currently is the President-Elect for the New York State Dietetic Association (NYSDA). Past volunteer positions include: NYSDA PR Chair, NYSDA 2006 Annual Meeting Chair, GNYDA PR Chair and Treasurer. She is an active member of The American Dietetic Association and several Dietary Practice Groups, such as, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, SCAN, Nutrition and Complementary Care and Weight Management. Linda McCann has over 26 years experience in renal dietetics and is an American Dietetic Association (ADA) Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition. In 2003, Ms. McCann received the prestigius Joel D. Kopple Nutrition Award, one of the most distinguished awards in the field of renal nutrition. Past chairperson of National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Council on Renal Nutrition, Ms. McCann was the dietitian representative for the NKF Dialysis Outcomes Quality Initiative (DOQI) Advisory Board from 1994 until 2000 and currently serves on the Kidney DOQI Bone Diseases Workgroup. Ms. McCann also co-developed Satellite Healthcare's NetNutrition, an interactive Web application for renal clinicians.
Liz Bonis is a registered dietitian, a certified personal trainer, and a diabetes educator with a Master of Science Degree in Public Communication & Radio-Television News. Liz received a Bachelor's Degree from the College of Applied Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and her Masters Degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. She first began working with LOCAL 12 in January 2002. Liz has been a health & medical reporter for nearly 10 years in both radio and television. She is the former host of the Mix 94.1 "Liz & Carson" morning show in Cincinnati, and the syndicated weekend health and fitness radio show on 55WKRC --"Lighten Up with Liz." Liz publishes a monthly health and wellness newsletter, has a personal fitness video called "The Lazy Way to Lighten Up (for women)", and writes weekly on-health articles at Lightenupwithliz.com. She currently hosts seminars nationwide on fighting fat, getting fit, stress management, diabetes breakthroughs, weight loss, women's health and nutrition. Liz is active in Cincinnati with the American Heart Association, the Greater Cincinnati YMCA, the Northern Kentucky Chapter of the American Dietetic Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the American Cancer Society and Crossroads Community Church in Oakley.

Margaret Tate currently serves as the Chief of the Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Nutrition Services at the Arizona Department of Health Services. In this capacity, she oversees the chronic disease prevention programs, as well as the public health nutrition programs. Margie has worked in public health, at both the local and state level, for 28 years. She has held a number of public health positions in Arizona, Virginia and Colorado progressing to higher leadership opportunities. Margie has served is a number of leadership positions within American Dietetic Association and its district and state affiliates. She has also served in leadership positions in several public health organizations such the Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors, the National WIC Association and Chronic Disease Directors, and most recently, the Director of Public Health Education Association.

Michael Angeletti holds a bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut, and a master's degree in Exercise Science, with emphasis on exercise physiology, from Southern Connecticut State University. Michael previously developed and implemented an adolescent weight management program including individualized nutrition counseling and an exercise program. Additionally, he developed an effective weight management program called "Healthy Option". He created sports nutrition programs for rowing, cycling, and running organizations, and has published research articles in the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and the Journal of Applied Biomechanics. Prior to joining CATZ, he gained 13 years of experience in nutrition and 7 years as an exercise physiologist at various facilities, including Temple Medical Center, Westchester Medical Center, and Glastonbury Wellness Center. Michael is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist; also, a member of the American Dietetic Association and a member of SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionist). For the past 5 years, he has been a coordinator for American Heart Association walks both in Connecticut and New York. For personal fitness, Michael enjoys participating in rowing, cycling and running.

Ms. Lubritz has been practicing dietetics in the long-term care industry for over 19 years. During her career she has held multiple progressive positions including a senior management post with one of the largest long-term care operations in the country. As Director of Dietary services she was responsible for the dietary programs and personnel covering over 140 facilities in 18 states across the nation. Her experience also encompasses multidisciplinary trainings for dietary managers, nurses, and operations managers covering a wide variety of topics including sanitation, dining programs, food cost, labor efficiency, weight and pressure sore management. Cost effective menu design, and policy/procedure development are specialties of Ms. Lubritz. Throughout her career, she has maintained her clinical skills by performing thousands of clinical assessments and providing Medical Nutritional Therapy to thousands of residents in a multitude of long term care facilities, often called in to help trouble shoot the most severe cases needing nutritional management. She has conducted hundreds of pre-surveys and through her hands-on approach to deficiency reports boasts a 100% success rate in re-surveys across the nation. She has earned a reputation as a top trouble-shooter for long-term care facilities requiring immediate assistance with survey issues. During the past four years at DNS Ms. Lubritz has provided consultative services to senior long-term care management teams regarding dietary strategy and departmental management. She also provides consultative services to legal practitioners regarding dietary issues involved in long-term health care related matters. Ms. Lubritz graduated top of her class from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Dietetics. She is a Registered Dietitian and member of the American Dietetic Association, Licensed Dietitian, member of the Texas Dietetic Association, and a member of Consultant Dietitians in Health Care Facilities.
Award-winning author, lecturer, and fitness authority Pat Baird is a specialist in the development and communication of information on nutrition, and health-related issues for consumers and health care professionals. She is noted for expertise in the areas of gastrointestinal disorders, osteoporosis, weight management, and cardiovascular health. Formerly the Administrative Dietitian at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, Pat is a Registered Dietitian, and a Fellow of The American Dietetic Association. She holds a Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University; and completed the Advanced Nutrition Counseling Program of the NY Heart Association. Pat served on the Board of Directors of Fresh Specialties, Inc. for six years. She is currently on the Board of The Dietetic Internship Program at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center; and an Advisory Board Member of the National Heartburn Alliance, the National Fiber Council, and the Gout & Uric Acid Education Society. Nutrition consultant to several global companies, Pat is a frequent guest lecturer and facilitator for corporate and consumer weight management and health education programs. Pat does satellite media tours averaging 22 interviews - and is frequently on radio and TV programs across the country. Appearances include CNN, FoxNews, The Health Network, and the CBS Morning Show. She has been a featured speaker at the American Dietetic Association, the NYS Dietetic Association; and UN World Health Day. The author of numerous articles for publications including BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS Diabetic Living, REDBOOK, and RESTAURANT BUSINESS, Pat wrote a weekly syndicated newspaper column for the NJ Star Ledger for several years. Shannan Carter is a Board Certified Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. In addition she is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist in New York State. She is the recipient of "The 1999 New York State Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the American Dietetic Association. Furthermore, Shannan is past president of the Greater New York Dietetic Association, which is the governing medical organization for all of New York and its five boroughs. She is founder of the first New York State Student comittee which is now part of the Coordinating cabinet. Currently, she maintains a position on the Board of Directors as Nominating Chair. Shannan Carter completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. She received the Samuel Eshborn Service Award in recognition of superlative and extraordinary service. In addition, she completed her Dietetic Internship through New York University hospitals for one year after completion of her Masters degree. Shannan was the Critical Care Dietitian/Nutritionist at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City responsible for Medical Nutrition Support in the Surgical, Medical and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. She was key note speaker at yearly Grand Rounds for both the Surgical and Medical residents and attendings on Total Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition in the Critical Care patient. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at New York University in the graduate program in the Department of Clinical Nutrition. Stephanie Green is a registered dietitian, culinary chef and professional speaker with over 10 years of experience in food and nutrition. She is the owner of Nutrition Studio, a nutritionally focused consulting firm specializing in nutrition and culinary education workshops, recipe development, food styling, photography and media events. Stephanie has appeared on local television stations promoting good health and nutrition and has also been a contributor to various articles in local newspapers, magazines and cookbooks. She has spent the last 3 years traveling the state of Arizona teaching hands on food demo workshops to community educators. She also spends her time in the community working with farmers, local markets and volunteering. Stephanie works with the farmers market providing cooking demoa s and coordinating market chefa s to prepare locally grown produce. Stephanie also served two years as the culinary chair for the American Diabetes Association Annual Diabetes Expo. For the past five years she has taught in-house and online culinary nutrition courses for nationally recognized culinary schools. In addition, Stephanie has worked in the clinical environment and as a Chief Research Nutritionist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania General Clinical Research Center.
Suzanne is currently involved with school wellness initiatives in Rhode Island and chairs the health & wellness committee at a Providence school. Her professional interests include weight gain prevention in adults and children, critical appraisal of behavioral medicine research and translation to practice; and systematic reviews of nutrition and physical activity topics that address prevention of chronic disease. Suzanne earned a doctorate degree in Epidemiology with minors in Biometry and Behavioral Science from the University of Texas-Houston School of Public Health and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the Division of Preventive and Behavioral Medicine. In addition, she is a registered dietitian and serves as an Evidence Analyst for the American Dietetic Association. She is also certified in adult weight management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
William J. Evans, Ph.D. is the director of the Nutrition, Metabolism, and Exercise Laboratory. He is a Professor of Geriatrics, Physiology, and Nutrition. From 1993 to 1997 he was the director of the Noll Physiological Research Center at the Pennsylvania State University and from 1982 to 1993 he served as the Chief of the Human Physiology Laboratory at the U.S.D.A. Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, The American College of Nutrition, and an honorary member of the American Dietetic Association. He is the author or co-author of more than 160 publications in scientific journals. Along with Irwin Rosenberg, M.D., he is the author of Biomarkers: The Ten Determinants of Aging You Can Control (Simon & Schuster) and has recently authored AstroFit (Simon & Schuster, 2002). The NMEL examines the relationship between exercise, nutrition and aging. His landmark studies have demonstrated the ability of older men and women to improve strength, fitness, and health through exercise, even into the 10th decade of life. He receives grant support from a variety of sources including the National Institutes of Health, the Veterans Administration, and NASA. He has served as an expert advisor to NASA in a number of committees, including the Science Working Group responsible for the design of the Human Research Facility aboard the International Space Station and The Life Sciences Advisory Subcommittee. He also served at the head of the Nutrition and Exercise research group for the National Space Biomedical Institute. Dr. Evans is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Allison is a Registered Dietitian in private practice on Long Island working in conjunction with Long Island Breast Care. She holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Syracuse University. In addition to Field to Plate, Amanda Archibald retains her seat at the table of food, restaurant and health trends. For more than a decade, she has been tracking who is doing in what in food throughout the U.S., and Europe. As a senior analyst for the Mintel Group (London/Chicago), Amanda was instrumental in the development of Mintel's Menu Insights product, tracking menu and forecasting ingredient and flavor trends for the U.S. marketplace. She has also authored many Mintel Reports, exploring the arenas of food and health. In addition to her work with Mintel, Archibald works with the acclaimed Product Innovation Xchange conference (produced by VerticalXchange), where she interacts with research and development executives across the food industry spectrum. She is a contributing editor for Prepared Foods, and quoted extensively in food industry, agricultural and professional publications. Amy Barr, co-founder of Marr Barr Communications, is a registered dietitian and veteran communications expert. She specializes in food and nutrition, consumer affairs, agriculture and the natural products industry. Previously, she was vice president of communications for Horizon Organic Dairy, Boulder, Colorado, and was the company's first female vice president and also served as the company's first director of communications. She was Good Housekeeping magazine's nutrition and fitness editor and, later, director of the Good Housekeeping Institute, New York City. She also served as the magazine's official spokesperson for national media and congressional testimony. Amy was executive editor-at-large for McCall's magazine and also worked at General Foods, White Plains, New York, and the Food Marketing Institute, Washington, D.C. Amy is a member of the American Dietetic Association, serving on the board of the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. She sits on the editorial advisory board of Nutrition Today journal and volunteers as a member spokesperson for Chefs Collaborative. Amy chairs the Marketing Communicators section of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. She is also a member of the Institute of Food Technologists and the Organic Trade Association. She served on the Board of Advisors of the Sarah W. Goodson received a bachelor's degree in speech communications from Texas Christian University in 2003 and earned master's degree in exercise and sports nutrition from Texas Woman's University in 2006 while also obtaining her registration and license to become a registered dietitian. She is also a board certified specialist in sports dietetics. Goodson's internship included clinical experience and work in sports nutrition with the dietitian of the Houston Texans. She then became a dietitian for Lifetime Fitness and a local Velocity Sports Performance Center. As a member of the Executive Health Program team, she provides individual nutrition counseling for executives in annual physicals and other nutrition packages. In addition, Goodson is the sports dietitian for our own Ben Hogan Sports Therapy Institute and TCU athletics. She serves as the nutrition media spokesperson for Texas Health Fort Worth and speaks to community groups and high school athletes. Eileen Behan, R.D., is a member of the American Dietetic Association and a registered dietitian. She is the author of eight books on family nutrition, including The Baby Food Bible; Eat Well, Lose Weight, While Breastfeeding; Fit Kids; The Pregnancy Diet; Meals That Heal for Infants and Toddlers; and Microwave Cooking for Your Baby and Child. MRA is a clinical service organization involved for over 10 years in phase II through post market trials for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. Amy Pieczarka has been in private practice since 2000 and the coordinator of the Nutrition Counseling Center at a large community hospital since 1992. She has since provided nutrition therapy to over 4500 patients and has given over 500 presentations to the public. Amy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Medical Dietetics from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983, completed the American Dietetic Association accredited internship at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1984 and has been an ADA registered dietitian since 1985. She has been a certified diabetes educator since 1993. Encouraged by the community's interest and motivation to prevent disease naturally and motivated by the importance of holistic healing, she successfully completed the coursework and exam required by the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists and became a certified clinical nutritionist in 2003. Amy counsels people of all ages and specializes in preventive nutrition, diabetes, weight management, disordered eating, cardiovascular, nutrition for digestive health, and holistic nutrition. In addition to her private practice, she created and continues to manage the hospital's nutrition counseling center and is responsible for all nutrition education provided through diabetes education, cardiac rehabilitation, and community education. She wrote the curriculum and is the coordinator of the following programs: Outsmarting Female Fat, Keep It Off for Life, New You (weight management), Debunking Diet Myths, Nutrition for You and Nutrition for You: 2 (weekly lecture series) CANDLES (Children and Nutrition; Developing Lifelong Eating and Exercise Skills), and Promoting Positive Eating for Children lecture series. She frequently appears on radio and talk shows such as "To Your Health" with Sheri Putinam and CBTV's "Health Matters" and "Parent Connections" as well as news interviews. In her newest programs, "Nutrition in Your Kitchen" and "Nutrition a la Cart", Amy effectively provides nutrition guidance to couples and families in the comfort of their own kitchen or grocery store, allowing for the most ideal customization of meal planning and dietary supplementation. Amy is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists as well as the dietetic practice groups, Sports and Cardiovascular Nutritionists, Nutritionists in Complementary Care, Diabetes Care and Education, Nutritionists in Education, and Entrepreneurial Nutritionists. She lives with her two sons in Warrington, Pennsylvania.
Brooke serves as the Healthy Weight Communications Specialist for the Physical Activity and Nutrition (PAN) Branch, N.C. Division of Public Health. In this role she conducts statewide media relations, health communications and marketing activities related to the prevention and reduction of obesity and related chronic diseases. Brooke also provides technical assistance to locals and other states regarding physical activity and nutrition health communication, media relations and marketing. Prior to joining the PAN Branch, Brooke provided nutrition counseling at the Wake County Human Services WIC Program. There she conducted one-on-one counseling and also served as bi-weekly class instructor teaching infant feeding to post-partum mothers as well as obesity prevention classes for children and families focusing on healthy eating and physical activity in both English and Spanish. Brooke earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, both in Food Science and Human Nutrition, from the University of Florida. She is a member of the North Carolina Dietetic association and American Dietetic Association. Brooke enjoys cooking and loves finding quick, simple, healthy (and tasty!) recipes. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, especially swimming and hiking.
Behavioral eating expert James Painter, Ph.D., R.D., is professor and chair of School of Family and Consumer Sciences at Eastern Illinois University . He received a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University, Master's degree from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Nutrition. Jim has been a Registered Dietitian since 1980. From 1982 - 1991 he worked for Marriott Corporation as a food service director and chief clinical dietitian. Jim is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Society for Nutrition Education.
Janet Seiber, RD, LDN, has been with the Healthy Living Kitchen program since its inception in 2006. As the registered dietitian on the Healthy Living Kitchen team, she demonstrates how to prepare food that is easy, delicious and good for your health. She has seen the Healthy Living Kitchen program blossom into cooking classes, grocery shopping tours and interactive community presentations. Whether it is at a grocery shopping tour in a local Kroger store, or a cooking class in the Heart Lung Vascular Institute, she loves teaching participants how to create their own tasty and healthy meals that can impact overall health and wellness. Seiber holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and completed a dietetic internship with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and is licensed in the state of Tennessee as a dietitian/nutritionist (LDN). Seiber has been with UT Medical Center providing inpatient and outpatient nutrition services with an emphasis on cardiac, diabetes, and weight management since September 2002. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association.
Anna attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she studied Psychology. During her time there, Anna took several nutrition classes and soon became very interested in the connection between food and health. After she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology, she felt that her real interest was in nutrition. Therefore, she decided to go back to school and pursue a career in Dietetics. Anna applied to the University of Illinois at Chicago and was accepted to their competitive Nutrition Coordinated Program. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. Anna's main interests include diabetes self-management education, weight management, and community nutrition. She currently works at the Center for Diabetes at Saint Anthony Hospital where she teaches patients diabetes self-management education. Anna is also certified to provide insulin pump training. She has also worked with overweight/obese adults and adolescents on weight loss and/or weight management. Anna has experience in working with people with various education levels, including low literacy. She speaks fluent Spanish and therefore is able to teach those patients who only speak Spanish. She is currently a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
