James H. Stith is the Vice President, Physics Resources Center for the American Institute of Physics. He has oversight responsibilities for AIP's Magazine Division, the Media and Government Relations Division, the Education Division, the Center for the History of Physics, the Statistical Research Division and the Careers Division. His Doctorate in physics was earned from The Pennsylvania State University, and his Masters and Bachelors in physics were received from Virginia State University. A physics education researcher, his primary interests are in Program Evaluation, and Teacher Preparation and Enhancement. He was formerly a Professor of Physics at The Ohio State University and spent 21 years on the faculty of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has also been a Visiting Associate Professor at the United Air Force Academy, a Visiting Scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a Visiting Scientist at the University of Washington, and an Associate Engineer at the Radio Cooperation of America. He is a past president of the American Association of Physics Teachers, past president of the National Society of Black Physicists, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Fellow of the American Physical Society, a Chartered Fellow of the National Society of Black Physicists, and a member of the Ohio Academy of Science. Additionally, he serves on a number of national and international Advisory Boards and has been awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters by his alma mater, Virginia State University.

K.C. Lim has more than 20 years of industrial research, development and technology transfer in the diverse fields of liquid crystal display, millimeter wave antenna and lithium-ion battery technologies. Prior to joining Valence, Dr. Lim co-founded and served in executive management roles with Pleiades Battery Manufacturer (Suzhou, China), Energy Sciences International (Suzhou, China) LLC, and Macro Energy-Tech Inc (USA, China). Additionally, Dr. Lim held positions with Hughes Research Laboratory and The Institute of Conducting Polymer and Organic Solids. He was a post doctoral fellow of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. Lim holds a Ph.D. in Physics from SUNY-Buffalo, a Master of Education degree from the University of Malaya, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Malaya. He is a member of the American Institute of Physics and the Electrochemical Society.

Khoon Cheng Lim, Ph.D. In November 2008 we announced the appointment of Dr. Lim as our Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Lim provided consulting services to us in 2007 and 2008 prior to his appointment as our Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Lim also serves as the president and co-founder of Pleiades Battery Manufacturing, a lithium-ion battery development and manufacturing company. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Lim served as the general manager and co-founder of Energy Sciences International, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in lithium-ion battery manufacturing technologies and advanced production machine designs. From 1998 to 2005, Dr. Lim served as the chief technology officer, general manager and co-founder of Macro Energy-Tech, Inc., a consumer electronics lithium-ion battery producer. Additionally, Dr. Lim held positions with Hughes Research Laboratory and The Institute of Conducting Polymer and Organic Solids. He was a post doctoral fellow of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. Lim holds a Ph.D. in Physics from SUNY-Buffalo and both a Masters of Education and a Bachelors of Science in Physics from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lampur. He is a member of the American Institute of Physics and the Electrochemical Society.

Dr. Lecon ( Lee ) Woo was trained in chemical physics from the University of Chicago. To date, he has been named inventor or co-inventor in 51 patents on medical devices, materials, and processes while contributing more than 150 technical articles and 12 book chapters to his professional societies. He is a fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers, member of American Chemical Society, American Institute of Physics, AAAS, and Sigma Xi. Lee Woo started his professional career with E. I. Dupont working on polymer characterization techniques with an R&D-100 Award winning Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) to his credit. Prior to joining Baxter Healthcare, he conducted research on polyolefins, thermoplastic elastomers, and adhesives at the ARCO Chemical Company. In 1984, he was appointed technical director at Baxter's corporate Material and Membrane Technology Center, and in 24 years of service at Baxter, he and his teams resolved numerous important issues, and invented new materials, processes and devices. In the mid-80's, he discovered that many rigid plastics devices become brittle due to a phenomenon called physical aging, and found ways to prevent it. The spider diagram he used to graphically analyze product performance is now the standard practice for major companies. In 1992, he became the first person appointed to the position of Baxter Distinguished Scientist, and currently holds the position of Distinguished Scientist Emeritus.

Dr. Bateman earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering physics, as well as his doctorate in physics, from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He is author of several technical publications on atmospheric research and is a member of the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Society and the American Institute of Physics.

Thom is BRC's senior consultant in Multi-media, Audiovisual Systems, and Sound Reinforcement System Design, having come to BRC in 2003 with over 30 years' experience in the design, installation, and operation of sound reinforcement, audiovisual presentation systems, and associated control systems. At BRC he has broadened his expertise to include architectural acoustics design, working closely with Dan Bruck on several projects. Thom's project design experience includes distance learning environments, corporate training and boardroom facilities, video teleconferencing suites, auditoriums, churches, gymnasiums, casinos, and critical listening environments such as recording studios and broadcast facility control rooms.

has extensive experience developing quality- and performance-based initiatives in high-tech manufacturing companies, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma to create a culture of Continuous Improvement. Previously, he was Vice President of Operational Excellence and Business Development at Thermo Electron Corp. Wil has served in top positions in operations, engineering and research and development at Bell & Howell Co. and Philips Electronics. He is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Institute of Physics (AIP), an examiner for the Wisconsin Forward Award and a judge for the Governor's Business Plan Contest. A Six Sigma Green Belt, he also has an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Wil is based in Verona.

Dr. Paul Johnson is Chief of Project for Nonlinear Elasticity Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory and is a pioneer on nonlinear ultrasonic NDI methods, and a co-inventor of NEWS. His primary interests are Nonlinear and disordered systems, Seismic strong ground motion, and General Acoustics. Dr. Johnson is a member of American Institute of Physics, the American Geophysical Union, and the Acoustical Society of America. His recent honors include member of the steering committee of the International Symposium on Nonlinear Acoustics (10/2000), 1999-2000 Fullbright Scholar to France. (Paris 6): Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics form the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris (France), and a MS. In Geophysics form the University of Arizona.
