American Stevedoring Incorporated (ASI), and its related operating subsidiaries, is a multi-service port operator and transportation service provider. With over $60 million in annual revenues, ASI offers port development services,direct stevedoring and lashing for container, bulk and neo-bulk products, state of the art warehouse operations, and related truck, chassis and container support services. ASI was founded by Sabato Catucci in 1965 as a small trucking concern servicing the Port of New York. From this initial start, ASI has grown to be one of the most dynamic stevedoring companies operating in the region. Today, it remains a family run organization providing a personal level of service and commitment throughout its many transportation services. ASI operates two container facilities in the Port of New York and New Jersey. Working with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, ASI leases the Red Hook Marine Terminal (RHMT) in Brooklyn. RHMT is a 100 acre facility with four active container cranes, over a million square feet of warehouse space and two major bulk handling yards. Operating the Terminal since 1993, ASI has taken Red Hook's container volume to an all time high of over 65,000 containers and 45,000 tons of breakbulk cargo, as well as 422,000 tons of bulk cargo.
