Don Joseph is the chief operating officer of the Institute for OneWorld Health (iOWH), the first non-profit pharmaceutical company in the United States. OneWorld Health was created to develop safe, affordable and effective medicines for neglected diseases afflicting the poorest parts of the world, and its portfolio currently includes programs to address Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL), malaria and diarrheal disease. Its business model combines an entrepreneurial approach with collaborative scientific and public health partnerships. In a major milestone for the organization, OneWorld Health's first drug, Paromomycin Intramuscular (IM) Injection, was approved by Indian regulatory authorities on Aug. 31, 2006. Paromomycin IM Injection will be an important new public health tool for the government of India in their efforts to safely and affordably control VL. Don Joseph, is responsible for all professional support services of OneWorld Health and has direct responsibility for all operational functions of the organization, including the major functional areas of: Corporate Partnerships/Portfolio Development, Human Resources, Legal, Facilities, Communications and Fund Development, Business Development, Finance & Accounting, Strategic Planning and Information Technology. Don brings over twelve years of biopharmaceutical leadership experience to the Institute for OneWorld Health following fifteen years of practicing business law. His most recent senior executive positions include Renovis, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, Abgenix, Inc., a biotechnology company dedicated, and Amarin Corp., a pharmaceutical company based in London, with Amarin Pharmaceuticals, its U.S. subsidiary. Don also co-founded Alekta Group, a biopharmaceutical consulting group, and was a partner in the San Francisco office of Baker & McKenzie. Don has served as a member of the board of directors of Legal Community Against Violence, a gun violence prevention group formed to promote reasonable gun laws, since 2000. He holds a J.D. degree from the University of Texas Law School, with honors, and received an undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, with highest honors.

Raju Kucherlapati is a Professor of Medicine and the Paul C. Cabot Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and the first Scientific Director of the Harvard-Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics. Dr. Kucherlapati came to the United States in 1967 after completing undergraduate and graduate degrees in India. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana and did his post-doctoral work in the lab of Frank Ruddle at Yale University. He was assistant professor in the Department of Biochemical Sciences at Princeton University, and then became professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. In 1989 Dr. Kucherlapati went to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was the Lola and Saul Kramer Professor of Molecular Genetics and Chairman of the Department of Molecular Genetics, a position he held for eleven years.
