Robert Bradway became executive vice president and chief financial officer for Amgen in April 2007. He joined the company in 2006 as vice president, Operations Strategy. Prior to joining Amgen, Bradway spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley in New York and London, where he was a managing director in investment banking. Dr. Perlmutter is Executive Vice President for Research and Development at Amgen. A graduate of Reed College (Portland, Oregon), Dr. Perlmutter received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Washington University (St. Louis) in 1979. Thereafter he pursued clinical training in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and at the University of California at San Francisco. From 1981 to 1984 he was a Lecturer in the Division of Biology at the California Institute of Technology. He joined the Departments of Medicine and Biochemistry and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Washington (Seattle) in 1984, and in 1989 became Professor and founding Chairman of the Department of Immunology there. During this period, Dr. Perlmutter focused his scientific efforts on the elucidation of signaling pathways governing lymphocyte development and activation. In 1997 he left the University of Washington to join Merck and Co., ultimately rising to the rank of Executive Vice President, Worldwide Basic and Preclinical Research. He left Merck in 2001 to join Amgen in California. Dr. Perlmutter is also a director of Stem Cells, Inc., a Trustee of Reed College, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Systems Biology, a not-for-profit research institute based in Seattle, Washington. He was previously President of the American Association of Immunologists, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
As senior vice president and chief compliance officer, Anna Richo oversees Amgen’s compliance program, which promotes ethical business conduct throughout the organization and touches on all company activities related to product development, manufacturing, marketing and reporting. Richo joined Amgen in 2003 as vice president, Law. Previously, she spent 12 years at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in roles of increasing responsibility in law and compliance, including vice president, Law, for their Bioscience Division. Additionally, for more than five years she served on the Board of Directors of Cytyc Corporation and was a member of the Audit and Finance Committees. Richo received her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She co-chairs the Straus Institute Council of Distinguished Advisors at Pepperdine University’s School of Law.

Dr. Fabrizio Bonanni is Amgen's executive vice president, Operations, overseeing the company's global production activities as well as site and facilities management. Since joining Amgen in April 1999, Bonanni has served as senior vice president, Manufacturing; senior vice president, Quality and Compliance; and corporate compliance officer. Previously, he was corporate vice president, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs and corporate vice president, Quality System for Baxter International Inc., a company he joined in 1974. At Baxter, Bonanni spent half of his career in international operations, including an eight-year assignment as vice president, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, at the company's European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. His responsibilities at Baxter included quality and regulatory affairs, manufacturing, microbiology and sterilization engineering, and total quality management, for (bio)pharmaceuticals, blood derivatives, medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. Bonanni earned his doctorate in chemistry, magna cum laude, from the University of Florence and has done postdoctoral work in physiological chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a state-certified chemist and a member of the Ordine dei Chimici of Tuscany. He is an alumnus of the Institute for International Management, Northwestern University, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and of the Executive Program in Manufacturing, Harvard University, Graduate School of Business Administration. Bonanni is fluent in French and English, in addition to his native Florentine Italian. Bonanni serves on the Board of Trustees for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. He also serves as a Trustee of the Science Technology and Research Trust of Puerto Rico.

Since May 2005, Cynthia Schwalm has been Amgen's vice president and general manager of the Oncology Business Unit. She oversees sales, marketing, access and reimbursement, advocacy and new product launch teams for Amgen's oncology business in the United States. From May of 2003 to May of 2005, Schwalm served as senior director of Marketing in Oncology. Helen Torley has been vice president, and general manager of the Nephrology Business Unit since October of 2003. Torley joined Amgen in June of 2002 in the role of therapeutic area head, Inflammation Global Marketing. She began her industry career at Sandoz/Novartis in 1990, heading up the clinical development program for Sandimmune in rheumatoid arthritis. During her 7 years at Novartis, Torley held positions of increasing responsibility in medical marketing and marketing, ultimately serving as vice president of Medical Affairs, with responsibility for medical marketing and phase IIIB/IV trials across all therapeutic areas. In 1997, Torley joined Bristol Myers Squibb and held various positions, including RVP cardiovascular and metabolic sales, heading up the 150 sales representatives from the California sales team. Prior to coming to the United States, she was senior registrar in rheumatology at the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, Scotland. Torley received her MBChB in 1984 from the University of Glasgow and her MRCP in 1987.

Mr. Franklin Pitcher ("Pitch") Johnson was co-founder in 1962 of Draper and Johnson Investment Company, venture capital company, and became an independent venture capitalist in 1965 as the founder of Asset Management Company, with which he is still associated. Asset Management Company has made over 200 venture investments during its more than 43 years of operation. These have included Amgen, Applied Bio Systems, Applied Micro Circuits, Conductus, Hybritech, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, Octel, Qume, Red Brick Systems, Remedy, Sierra Semiconductor, Tandem Computers, Teradyne and Verity. He is was a director of many of those companies and is presently a director of three private companies, and a public investment fund operating in eastern Europe. He is also a past director of the National Venture Capital Association, a past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists, and was a trustee of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District for 12 years. He also taught a class in entrepreneurship and venture capital at Stanford Business School for 12 years and is still active on the faculty there. He has served as an advisor to several eastern European countries since 1990 in the area of entrepreneurship and privatization, and has helped form venture funds in several countries. He is active in educational and cultural affairs and served as chairman of the board of San Francisco Opera from 1999-2008. Pitch has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
