Dr. Kahane, an industry veteran with a track record of driving companies' growth and market leadership, is the chief executive officer and chairman of AMICAS. Under Dr. Kahane's leadership and direction, AMICAS has become one of the largest and most influential providers of IT solutions in the radiology market. Previously, Dr. Kahane was chief strategy officer and vice chairman of the board of directors for VitalWorks Inc., a leading provider of healthcare image and information management technology for physician office practices, imaging centers, hospitals, and other healthcare provider organizations. Prior to VitalWorks, he was CEO of Datamedic, a healthcare technology firm specializing in electronic medical records and practice management software and services. Dr. Kahane holds an M.S. in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University and an M.D. from Emory University. After completing his residency at Johns Hopkins, he became their medical director of information systems and served on their faculty.
As Senior VP, R&D / CTO, Dr. Wang is responsible for the R&D department at AMICAS. Under his leadership, AMICAS has streamlined its software engineering processes and has developed its industry-acclaimed PACS, RIS, billing, and decision support products. Prior to AMICAS, Dr. Wang was the chief technology officer of W3Health Corp. As a founding member of this Web-based healthcare software system vendor, he actively participated in the planning and launching of the company, built the development team, and developed the systema s architecture. Prior to joining W3Health, he was an instructor at Harvard Medical School, where his team implemented the world's first Web-based real-time intensive care unit patient monitoring system in 1995. He also participated in the development of a secure system for sharing electronic medical records across multiple healthcare facilities. Dr. Wang received his PhD in computer science from Bremen University in Bremen, Germany, and his BA and MS degrees in computer science from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in Beijing, China. Dr. Wang has been a frequent speaker at various industry conferences including a JavaOne conference in the U.S., the Korea Oracle Healthcare Conference, and the Sun Microsystem Internet Technology Conference in Germany. His professional achievements have been noted in more than 20 professional journals or conference proceedings.

Kevin C. Burns , age 38, has served as our senior vice president, Chief Financial Officer since April 2008. Mr. Burns joined AMICAS in November 2004 as our director of finance and business development, and in February 2007 was promoted to vice president of finance and corporate development. Prior to joining AMICAS, Mr. Burns was responsible for corporate planning at NMS Communications, a public telecom equipment company in the wireless applications and infrastructure market, from November 2003 to November 2004. Previously, Mr. Burns was the director of corporate development at Demantra, Inc. and has also held senior management positions in finance, accounting and corporate development at MAPICS, Inc. and Marcam Corporation, both public software companies.

Allen Scales, who has extensive experience in strategy, product management, business development, and operations, is responsible for strategy at AMICAS. Frank E. Stearns Jr. , age 49, joined AMICAS in February 2009 as our senior vice president of client solutions. Prior to joining AMICAS, Mr. Stearns was employed at Eclipsys, a public company providing healthcare information technology solutions, where he served as executive vice president of client operations from January 2007 to July 2008, as Senior Vice President of Professional Services From November 2005 to December 2006, and as the leader of Eclipsys consulting group from January 2003 to November 2005. Prior to Eclipsys, from August 1999 to January 2003, Mr. Stearns served as a Vice President and Partner for Cerner Corporation, a provider of enterprise healthcare software and services. From October 1993 to August 1999, Mr. Stearns held several leadership roles at Computer Sciences Corporation, a worldwide provider of technology products and services focusing in the healthcare sector, including Vice President of Decision Technologies from 1997 to 1999.

In his role as senior vice president of client services, Glen Lefeber, who has been with AMICAS for 27 years, leads client support at AMICAS. Mr. Lefeber began his career at AMICAS as a software engineer, where he focused on developing and deploying revenue cycle management solutions. In addition to his initial role at AMICAS, he has also served as director of implementation and vice president of the Financial Products Group. Keith Stahlhut, who has extensive experience in sales and operations management, is responsible for all new business and inside sales activity at AMICAS. Prior to joining AMICAS, Mr. Stahlhut was chief operating officer and senior vice president of sales at Emageon, where he was responsible for all sales, service, and product-related activities. During his time at Emageon, he also served as vice president of national account sales and support. Prior to joining Emageon in 2000, Mr. Stahlhut was general manager of U.S. healthcare sales for EMC. Prior to that, Mr. Stahlhut held sales management positions with Data General Corporation and Unisys Corporation. In his role as vice president of marketing, Paul Merrild is responsible for all marketing and commercialization efforts for the entire suite of AMICAS product and services. Prior to joining AMICAS in May 2006, Mr. Merrild served as director of strategic partnerships for imaging IT solutions at GE Healthcare, where he was responsible for general management and marketing for all large commercial opportunities on a global basis. Additionally, while at GE, he served on the global product management team for core PACS product development. Mr. Merrild started his career in healthcare with Solucient, where he played a critical role in the development and marketing of software and information products and he also spent several years managing large scale IT consulting engagements. Mr. Merrild holds a BA in economics and psychology from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

In her role as vice president of human resources, Denise Mitchell oversees the development, operation, and strategy regarding all human resources-related services at AMICAS. With over 15 years of human resource management experience, Ms. Mitchell brings a breadth and depth of knowledge working in the IT sector throughout her career. Prior to joining AMICAS, Ms. Mitchell held the position of senior director of human resources for Affinity, a Web hosting company headquartered in southern California, where she was responsible for all human resources functions for the company. Prior to Affinity, Denise was senior human resources director and director of integration for FutureLink, a publicly-traded international Application Service Provider headquartered in southern California. Denise holds a BS in biology from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA, and is based in AMICASa Boston corporate headquarters.

John Esposito is vice president of sales, East, with 20 years of healthcare/information technology experience in public and private company environments. Mr. Esposito is responsible for sales and systems engineering in the eastern half of the United States, and also acts as AMICAS' liaison to MEDITECH, whose client base is a major focal point for AMICAS' selling efforts. Prior to joining AMICAS, he was vice president of sales and then president and CEO of Mediware Information Systems, a publicly-held clinical information systems company specializing in information systems for hospital blood banks, pharmacies, and surgery departments. Prior to Mediware, John was one of the original members of Data General's "MASH" (Marketing and Sales for Healthcare) team, where he achieved awards including multiple "Million Dollar Clubs," was "Regional Rookie of the Year," and was awarded the healthcare "Outstanding Sales Rep, Eastern Operations" award in 1990. Prior to joining Data General, John was a programmer/analyst at the New York Public Library. John graduated cum laude from Syracuse University in 1982, with a BS degree from the School of Management.
In his role as vice president of sales, Kurt Hammond leads the South, West, and Midwest sales regions for AMICAS. He brings over 15 years of healthcare sales, marketing, and business development experience in both software and medical devices. Prior to joining AMICAS in August 2003, Mr. Hammond served as director of sales and business development for Acuo Technologies, a venture-backed image management software company. Previously, as vice president of sales and business development for Provation Medical, which markets clinical documentation software, Mr. Hammond built up the sales organization from the ground level. Mr. Hammond received a BA from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and an MBA in strategic management and marketing from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Scott Areglado, who has been with AMICAS since 2005, is responsible for financial reporting and financial operations at AMICAS. Prior to joining AMICAS, Mr. Areglado consulted in various Sarbanes Oxley engagements with several large international companies. Previously, he was vice president of finance for a privately held transportation company, where he was responsible for all financial functions. Prior to that, Mr. Areglado served in various roles including as controller, as manager of internal audit for a publicly traded company, and in various roles within public accounting.

Stephen J. DeNelsky, age 41, has served as a director since March 2001. Mr. DeNelsky is currently Senior Research Analyst at 11:11 Capital Management, Inc., an investment firm, where he has served since November 2008. From October 2004 to December 2007, Mr. DeNelsky served as general partner of Sapphire Capital Management LP, a New York based investment fund. From March 2003 until October 2004, Mr. DeNelsky worked as a senior research analyst at Copper Arch Capital, LLC, an investment fund. From November 2001 through March 2003, he served as the portfolio manager of Forstmann-Leff Associates, LLC. In December 2000, Mr. DeNelsky founded Sapphire Capital Management LLC, a New York-based investment fund, and he served as its managing partner until November 2001. From June 1999 until December 2000, he was a senior research analyst in Credit Suisse First Boston s Health Care Equity Research Group, covering primarily the healthcare information technology and e-health sectors. David B. Shepherd, age 57, has served as a director since June 2001. Since 1990, Mr. Shepherd has been employed by Louis Dreyfus Property Group LLC, an international commercial property company owned by Louis Dreyfus S.A.S., and currently is its Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and holds equivalent positions at various affiliated joint ventures. Joseph Hill has been our Chief Financial Officer since April 2008. Mr. Hill has more than twenty years of professional experience in finance, including more than fifteen years of experience at the executive level. Prior to joining Metabolix, Mr. Hill served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Amicas, Inc., the leading independent provider of radiology image and information management solutions. At Amicas, Mr. Hill was responsible for all finance, accounting, investor relations, treasury, tax, administration, IT and infrastructure. Prior to that, he was vice president and CFO at Dirig Software, a privately held provider of application performance management software systems. And Mr. Hill previously served as vice president, CFO and Director of Maconomy, a publicly traded provider of web-based business management solutions with more than 70,000 users worldwide. In this role, Hill was responsible for all finance, accounting, treasury, tax, administration, and infrastructure of this public company with offices in eight countries. Mr. Hill has a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant College and a M.S.F. from Bentley College.

Ms. Zappala, currently an independent consultant, was, from 1995 to 2003, Senior Vice President, Treasurer and, from 1998 to 2003, Chief Financial Officer of Aspen Technology, Inc., then a $300 million publicly traded software and services company. While at Aspen Technology, Ms. Zappala helped complete successful public and private equity fundraising rounds totaling over $400 million, as well as more than a dozen acquisitions. Ms. Zappala also serves on the board of Amicas, Inc., a publicly traded software company, as well as another privately held company. Prior to Aspen Technology, from 1981 to 1993, she practiced public accounting as a CPA at Arthur Andersen & Co. Ms. Zappala's term of office expires in 2008. There are no family relationships among any of our directors or executive officers. Messrs. Adik, Smith, Socha and Fox and Ms. Zappala, representing a majority of our directors, are determined to be independent under the rules of the National Association for Securities Dealers. Our board holds regularly scheduled meetings at which only these independent directors are present.
