We all have dreams. Few of us ever realize them. Rarely are talent and tenacity equally present in an individual as they are in David Alexander Bullock. He is a scholar, a pastor, a teacher, community leader and visionary. Born on New England shores where memories of slave ships and leather whips were cut into America's collective consciousness, David Alexander Bullock has risen to prominence in spiritual and academic arenas against the odds. He was raised in the urban metropolis of Detroit, Michigan, but always sensed that despite his small stature and ethnic vulnerability that he would take giant steps! The defining moment of David's life came on a fated day in 1993. Three weeks after turning 16 his beloved mother died from breast cancer. In the wake of her absence, he assumed extra-ordinary responsibilities. David cared for his younger siblings, graduated from high school at the age of 16, entered Morehouse College the following year, started a mentoring group, a landscaping company, and was licensed to preach the Christian gospel. Rather than succumb to grief and bitterness, David learned that life is not promised to anyone. Humanity is now the great beneficiary of the clarity induced by death. The last lesson Joan taught her son was this -- live well, while you are still alive. David Alexander Bullock is the perfect model of a superstar. He understands that super living requires super life skills that are forged by the fire of circumstance and the anvil of disappointment. In 1998, David Alexander Bullock graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in History. He then entered the Doctoral program in philosophy at Wayne State University, where he is currently in the final stages of dissertation preparation. In addition to being a Ph.D. candidate at Wayne State University, he is also currently a graduate student at the University of Chicago, where he is receiving advanced training in theology. In 2005, David Alexander Bullock was elevated to the pastorate in the Baptist denomination. He serves as the senior pastor of the Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church in Highland Park, MI. He is also an adjunct professor at Wayne State University in Detroit and Saint Xavier University in Chicago. He is a highly sought-after lecturer and preacher.
