Michael Kranda joined Anesiva as President and Chief Executive Officer in June of 2008. Prior to Anesiva, Mr. Kranda led life sciences venture investments as Managing Director for Vulcan Capital through 2006 and continues to consult for Vulcan. From July 1996 to July 2002, Mr. Kranda served as chief executive officer at Oxford GlycoSciences, establishing the biotechnology company as the leading proteomics platform-based drug discovery company. Prior to joining Oxford GlycoSciences, Mr. Kranda was President and Chief Operating Officer at Immunex Corporation (now Amgen), where he served as president and chief operating officer and was responsible for sales and marketing, manufacturing and operations. Mr. Kranda serves on the boards of PTC Therapeutics, Cumbre Pharmaceuticals, BiPar Sciences, Nura, Inc., Raven Biotechnologies and the Washington State Biotechnology Business Association. Mr. Kranda received his B.A. and M.B.A from University of Washington School of Business.

John H. Tran joined Anesiva in May 2008 and is the vice president, finance and chief accounting officer. Prior to joining Anesiva, from September 2004 to April 2008, Mr. Tran served in various roles in finance and was most recently the director of finance at Kyphon Inc., a medical device company. Nancy Donahue joined Anesiva in January 2004 and is vice president of marketing. Prior to joining Anesiva, Ms. Donahue had a 15-year career with GlaxoSmithKline, working in several product marketing positions, as well as strategic alliances and sales. Most recently, she served as executive director of Avandia franchise marketing, which at the time included one pre-launch and two marketed products within the diabetes area. She led the marketing team responsible for developing and implementing the strategic business plan, which resulted in a successful product introduction and franchise sales growth. Previously, she served as product director and senior product manager for Coreg, a treatment for hypertension, recent heart attack and heart failure. Her work on the product included leading the brand team, developing and implementing a strategic business plan and chairing a joint marketing committee with co-marketer, Roche. Her efforts on Coreg helped achieve 56% and 42% sales growth during two recent years leading the product team. Prior to that, Ms. Donahue served as associate product manager for Relafen, an antiarthritic, for which she attained record sales with a mature brand in a flat market. Also with GSK, she held positions in strategic alliances and new product development, hospital products and sales. She holds a B.S. in marketing from Saint Joseph's University, located in Philadelphia, Penn.

Spencer Chen joined Anesiva in May 2008 and is Vice President, Legal, serving as the Company?s legal counsel and is responsible for all aspects of the legal affairs. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Chen was Associate Director, Legal at Novacea, Inc., from 2006 to 2008, where he was solely responsible for all legal activities and represented the company in its initial public offering in 2006 and license with Schering Plough Corporation in 2007. From 2004 to 2006, he had his own law practice representing small companies and inventors in intellectual property matters. Mr. Chen was the sole in-house counsel from 2003 to 2004 for Gryphon Therapeutics, Inc., a privately held biopharmaceutical company, where he was primarily responsible for the intellectual property portfolio. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Chen was the Intellectual Property Counsel at ORATEC Interventions, Inc., a medical device company, where he was the sole in-house counsel directing intellectual property development strategies, support of commercialized products and represented the company in its initial public offering in 2000 and acquisition by Smith & Nephew plc. in 2002. Mr. Chen holds a J.D. from the Golden Gate University School of Law and a B.S. in zoology from Texas A&M University and he is licensed to practice in California and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Susan Kramer, Dr.P.H. joined Anesiva and was appointed vice president, preclinical development in April 2006 and vice president, development in January 2009.
She was instrumental in the initiation of the company’s preclinical and clinical programs and participated in the raising of Series A and B funds. Prior to BAS Medical, Dr. Kramer worked at Genentech for 18 years in a number of roles of increasing management responsibility, including director of product development, senior director of bioanalytical technology and ultimately as senior director of development sciences operations and strategic planning. She served as project team leader for products Actimmune® and Raptiva®. She led numerous pharmacology subteams and served on several key committees, including the Product Development Committee.
Prior to Genentech, Dr. Kramer served as the director of Medical Laboratories in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brazil as a Peace Corps Volunteer, followed by a stint as head of the clinical virology laboratory at the UCSF Medical Center at the onset of the AIDS epidemic.
Dr. Kramer holds Dr.P.H. and M.P.H. degrees in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Ferguson is a co-founder of Panorama and focuses primarily on life sciences investments. He joined the firm in 2001. From 1999 to 2001, Dr. Ferguson was a partner at InterWest Partners focusing on life sciences investments. Prior to InterWest, he held a variety of management positions over an 11-year career at Genentech, Inc., most recently as Senior Director of Business and Corporate Development responsible for worldwide licensing transactions for both technology and pharmaceutical products. Prior to joining Genentech, Inc. in 1988, Dr. Ferguson was an associate with the law firm McCutchen, Doyle, Brown, & Enersen (currently known as Bingham McCutchen llp). Dr. Oronsky has been a member of our Board of Directors since November 1996 and was elected Chairman in February 2006. Dr. Oronsky is a general partner with InterWest Partners, a venture capital firm. Prior to joining InterWest Partners in 1994, Dr. Oronsky was vice president of discovery research for the Lederle Laboratories division of American Cyanamid, a pharmaceutical company. From 1973 until 1976, Dr. Oronsky was head of the inflammation, allergy and immunology research program at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company. Dr. Oronsky also serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medical School. Dr. Oronsky has won numerous grants and awards and has published over 125 scientific articles. Dr. Oronsky serves on the boards of directors of Aspreva Pharmaceuticals Corporation; Anesiva, Inc.; and Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and his AB from New York University.

Mr. Janney is a Managing Director of Alta Partners focused on life sciences investments. In addition to his position as CEO at Arcion, he serves as Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Blaustein Pain Treatment Center at the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, as well as Executive-in-Residence for InterWest Partners LLC. In the past, Dr. Campbell served as Director of the Residency Training Program for the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins. He has served as consultant/advisor for several biopharmaceutical companies and holds many patents in the life sciences. Dr. Campbell owns the founding intellectual property for Anesiva, an InterWest portfolio company. Dr. Campbell has received many national awards for research and public service, including the Jacob Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award from the National Institutes of Health, and the Grass Award from the Society of Neurological Surgery. He also has received the Kerr Award for Research from the American Pain Society. Dr. Campbell has authored several books, published well over 100 peer-reviewed research papers and has served on the editorial board of several academic journals. Dr. Campbell received his B.A. from the University of Michigan with High Honors and High Distinction, and his M.D. degree from Yale University. He completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University, and also pursued post-doctoral training in Neurophysiology in the Department of Physiology at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Campbell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Thomas J. Colligan is 63 years old and joined the Board of Directors in July 2004. He retired as a Vice Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, having served in that role from 2001 to 2004. During his 35 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he provided financial and managerial expertise to companies in a number of industries including pharmaceutical, technology, telecommunications and consumer products. Early in his career with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, he was the managing partner of the Philadelphia office (the founding office of the firm) and the Pennsylvania region including, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Valley Forge. Mr. Colligan is a licensed CPA in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is a member of these State Societies of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He is currently Vice Dean at the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University. In addition, he serves on the Board of Schering Plough Corp. He received a B.A. in Accounting and a B.S. from the Fairleigh Dickinson University.
