As chief executive officer of Aon Benfield, Andrew M. Appel is responsible for building and executing our strategic growth priorities and continuing to define and strengthen our leadership position in the market. A member of Aon’s executive committee, Appel serves as executive sponsor for several global and regional clients, working closely with Aon business leaders around the globe to ensure our priority initiatives have client and stakeholder impact.
Appel joined Aon in 2005 as chief executive officer of Aon Consulting, Aon’s human capital and management consulting operation. In this role, he successfully aligned the team’s global consulting operations and expertise with the single goal of helping clients shape the workforce of the future through benefits, talent and rewards strategies and solutions. Under Appel's leadership, Aon Consulting grew revenues by 7.7 percent and improved margins by 5.9 percent to industry-leading levels, while being named the most client-focused organization in the industry two years in a row. He continues to serve as chairman of Aon Consulting.
Prior to joining Aon, Appel spent 15 years at McKinsey, most recently as a senior partner in McKinsey’s Financial Services and Technology Practices, manager of the firm’s Chicago, Atlanta and Canadian Business Technology Offices and member of the firm’s Global Technology Operating and Practice Committees. In these roles, Appel served senior executives with the world’s leading insurance, investment banking and financial services companies, focusing on product- and distribution-related strategies, trading and capital markets strategies, operations, technology, post-merger and performance improvement.
Born in Los Angeles, Appel holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, where he was the Henry Ford II scholar. Prior to business school, he was Chief Operating Officer of a regional brokerage firm. Appel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Baljit “Bal” Dail is CEO of Aon Consulting’s international businesses and global practices. He is also Chief Operating Officer for Aon Benfield. Aon Consulting Worldwide, and leads its Global Strategy Team and Global Program Management Office. Aon Consulting Worldwide provides benefits, talent and rewards strategies and solutions to clients in more than 100 countries.
Dail joined Aon in 2005 from McKinsey and Company, where he was a partner working across a wide variety of industries, including finance, retail, insurance, telecom and high– tech. Prior to McKinsey, he was vice president, strategic planning, at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and before that served in leadership roles at JP Morgan, Marks & Spencer and Ford Motor Company.
Dail received his Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Warwick, U.K.

Bernard Fung
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Aon Asia Pacific
Bernie Fung serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Asia Pacific, a position to which he was appointed in 1997. He is responsible for Aon’s Asia Pacific operations and also serves as a member of the firm’s executive committee.
From 1994 to 1997, Fung served as chief executive officer of Inchcape Insurance Brokers in Asia, which joined Aon in 1997. Previously he was in charge of Aon’s Canadian retail brokering operations, and also served as global managing director of Aon’s risk management operations.
Fung has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Canadain 1996. He attained his Associate in Risk Management degree through the Insurance Institute of America, and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Greg Case is President and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Corporation, the leading global risk, reinsurance and human capital services firm. He is also a member of the company's Board of Directors.
Under Case's leadership, Aon has strengthened its position as a global organization offering integrated business solutions for clients. Leading the efforts of more than 37,000 colleagues in over 120 countries, Case continues to execute a three-part strategy focused on delivering distinctive value for clients, attracting the best talent and achieving operational excellence. Since joining Aon in April 2005, he has met with an average of 100 clients per month and more than 30,000 colleagues in many of Aon's 500-plus locations around the world.
Before joining Aon, Case served on the Governing Shareholder Council and headed the Global Insurance and Financial Services Practice at McKinsey & Company, a leading international management consultant. Prior to McKinsey, he worked for the investment banking firm of Piper, Jaffray and Hopwood as well as the Federal Reserve Bank.
Case holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated summa cum laude from Kansas State University. He serves on the boards of the International Insurance Society, Inc., Children's Memorial Hospital, the Financial Services Roundtable, the Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and St. John's University School of Risk Management, where he was named the 2008 Insurance Executive of the Year.

Peter Harmer serves as chief executive officer of Aon UK, a position to which he was appointed in January 2007 after running Aon's Australian operations since 2000.
Peter joined the Aon Group 20 years ago and has spent that time building businesses, innovating products and services and developing high-performing teams. He has held various roles in Australiaincluding managing director of John C. Lloyd Reinsurance Brokers in 1992, driving the merger of John C. Lloyd and Alexander Howden in 1996, being appointed chairman of Aon Re in 1998, and serving on the board of Aon Re International over the same period. He has worked in the insurance industry for over 28 years, having started as a claims officer in 1979. His career has spanned underwriting, reinsurance broking and retail insurance broking.

Steve is chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Services, the largest risk management and insurance brokerage firm in the world+. Steve is also a member of Aon Corporation’s Group Executive Committee.
Since joining Aon in 2005, Steve has been focused on client and broking leadership bringing talent and resources together to deliver high impact risk solutions to clients. He has represented many of the worlds largest corporations in helping them manage and mitigate risk. Steve has excellent long standing relationships with many of the senior leaders in the worldwide insurance and reinsurance industry.
Steve’s career began in insurance broking in 1977 at Bland Payne International (a predecessor company of Marsh). In 1989, he joined Lloyd Thompson where he developed their international non-marine business, and in 1996 joined the Lloyd Thompson Group board. In 2001, Steve was appointed deputy chief executive officer of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLTG) Plc, formed by a merger between Lloyd Thompson and Jardine Insurance Brokers, and in 2002 was appointed chief executive officer of JLTG Plc. He joined Aon in May 2005 as chief executive officer of Aon Global based initially in London. Steve was additionally appointed chief executive officer of Aon Risk Services Americas in January 2006 and transferred to Aon’s Corporate HQ in Chicago. Steve was then appointed to his current role as chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Services in February 2008.
Steve is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is also a past president of the Insurance Institute of London and a director of the International Insurance Society Inc.

Greg Besio serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. He joined Aon in April 2007 as Senior Vice President, Global Strategy, and became Chief Administrative Officer in March 2008. He is responsible for corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, governance and human resources.
Before joining Aon, Besio worked for Motorola and held a series of positions with increasing responsibility from 2003 to 2007, including Corporate Vice President, Mobile Devices Software where he led a 4,500 person global development group that created a new software platform for cellular telephones. Prior to that, he led corporate strategy.
Besio is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and earned a doctoral degree in the same discipline from Princeton University. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance and marketing.

Philip B. Clement is the global chief marketing and communications officer for Aon Corporation. He has responsibility for all Aon’s marketing, which includes branding; market analysis, external and public; and demand creation. He is also responsible for driving many of Aon’s programs in the area of sales, sales systems and innovation. Aon Corporation is a $10 billion dollar company with 500 offices in 120 countries.
Previously, Clement was a managing partner of The Clement Group, a management consulting firm that he founded in Chicago. In that role, Clement served a wide variety of clients from the Fortune 50 to venture-backed start-ups as an expert in revenue-oriented growth strategies, particularly in marketing, sales processes, go-to-market channels and new product launches.
Clement is an advocate of “value marketing” and has an impressive track record in leading rapid-growth initiatives at professional services firms – ranging from a number of “Inc. Fast 50” companies to the largest global consulting companies. Prior to starting the Clement Group, he served as the senior vice president of global market development for Inforte Corporation.
Clement has served as an instructor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and the Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy. He also served as an adjunct professor at the Kelstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University.
Clement received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and a Master of Public Policy Analysis from the University of Chicago, Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy Analysis with a concentration in statistics. His undergraduate studies were at the University of Southern California, where he received a multidisciplinary certificate in journalism, documentary filmmaking and anthropology.
He is a past president of Chicago’s Business Marketing Association; board member of the Better Government Association, the nation’s oldest government watch-dog organization; a board member of St. Chrysostom’s Day School of Chicago; a board member of the Goodman Theatre in Chicago; and a member of the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Public Policy.

J. Michael Losh was the interim CFO of Cardinal Health from 2004 to 2005, Chairman of Metaldyne Corporation from 2000 to 2002. He served at General Motors from 1964 to 2000, most recently as CFO and Executive Vice President for GM, and received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He serves on the Boards of AMB Property Corporation, AON, Cardinal Health, H.B. Fuller, MASCO and TRW Automotive, as a trustee for the Detroit Institute of Arts and previously served on the Boards of Delphi, EDS, Hughes Electronics, Metaldyne, Quaker Oats, GMAC and the Economic Alliance for Michigan.
A graduate of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a degree in economics and commerce, in 1969 he joined the Mobil Group, where he held a number of executive positions in Italy and abroad and in 1989-90 was in charge of finance for Europe. The head of the accounting, finance, and control department of Montecatini from 1991 to 1993, he subsequently was in charge of finance at Montedison-Compart (between 1993 and 1996), overseeing the financial restructuring of such Group. The general manager and chief financial officer of the Italian National Railways between 1996 and 1998, he also held important positions in other companies of such Group (including Metropolis and Grandi Stazioni). Vice-chairman of Eurofima in 1997, in 1998-99 he was general manager and chief financial officer of Telecom Italia, holding also in this case important positions in other companies of such Group (including Finsiel, TIM, Sirti, Italtel, Meie and STET International). From 1999 to June 2005 he was Enel’s chief financial officer. He has been chief executive officer and general manager of Enel since May 2005. He is currently also director of Barclays plc and AON Corporation as well as deputy chairman of Eurelectric and director of National Academy of Santa Cecilia.
Mr. Knight has over 23 years of operating experience, principally in senior management roles at Baxter International, Allegiance and Cardinal Health. Most recently, he served as Vice Chairman of Cardinal Health following the merger of Allegiance with Cardinal Health. Prior to the merger, Mr. Knight was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allegiance.
Martin J. Gillen Dean and Ray and Milann Siegfried Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana. Dr. Woo also is a director of AON Corporation and Circuit City, Inc. She has been a Director since 1997.
