APCOM was founded in 1969. Originally a manufacturer of parts for water heaters, APCOM started in a 10,000 square foot building and now has locations in Franklin and Cookeville, TN. In Franklin, we have expanded five times and currently operate in a 125,000 square foot building with 325 employees. APCOM purchased Volunteer Tool & Die, Inc., located in Cookeville, TN in 1982. At that time, Volunteer had about 20 employees and occupied a 16,000 square foot building. Our Cookeville facility was expanded to 54,000 square feet in September 1984 and added approximately 60 new jobs. Also, Cookeville began manufacturing products such as spuds, flanges, and main burners.
