The G.I Joe of trucks! Arkansas Best Corporation. (NASDAQ: ABFS), based in Fort Smith, AR, deals in motor carrier and intermodal transportation operations. Its less-than-truckload (LTL) operations are conducted through ABF Freight System, which offers long haul, intrastate and regional transportation of general commodities. LTL carriers service shippers who are transporting shipments to geographically dispersed arreas. It's Clipper segment offers domestic intermodal freight services, utilizing road and rail. G. I. Trucking provides transcontinental services. In 2005, the company received approximately $20 million as proceeds from the sale of the terminal facilities to G.I. Trucking Company.

Alan J.
