Its less-than-truckload (LTL) operations are conducted through ABF Freight System, which offers long haul, intrastate and regional transportation of general commodities. LTL carriers service shippers who are transporting shipments to geographically dispersed arreas. It's Clipper segment offers domestic intermodal freight services, utilizing road and rail. G. I. Trucking provides transcontinental services. In 2005, the company received approximately $20 million as proceeds from the sale of the terminal facilities to G.I. Trucking Company.

Alan J. Zakon has served as a Director of the Corporation since 1988, on the Compensation and Benefits Committee since 1997 and its Chairman since January 2005 and on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee since January 2004 and the Strategic Planning Committee since March 2006.
