Charles G. “Chip” McClure is chairman of the Board, CEO and president of ArvinMeritor, Inc. McClure, who has more than 25 years of diverse leadership experience in the motor vehicle industry, most recently served as CEO, president and a member of the Board of Federal-Mogul Corp., a global supplier of automotive components. McClure joined Federal-Mogul in 2001 as president, COO and a member of the Board. He was promoted to CEO in July 2003. As the leader of Federal-Mogul’s $5.5 billion global business, McClure helped drive significant improvements in business results, strengthened customer relationships and developed strategic plans to enhance the company’s competitiveness. He was also instrumental in creating an aggressive plan to resolve challenging issues related to the company’s reorganization and planned emergence from Chapter 11. Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, McClure served as president, CEO and a member of the Board of Detroit Diesel, a major designer and manufacturer of diesel engines and related products. He joined Detroit Diesel in 1997, after 14 years in a variety of management positions with Johnson Controls, a Milwaukee-based global automotive supplier. In his last role with Johnson Controls, McClure served as president of the company’s Americas region, with management responsibility for a $3 billion group of 50 manufacturing plants. Before that, he was vice president and managing director of the Johnson Control’s $1 billion European operations. McClure also served as vice president and general manager of the company’s joint venture activities, as well as its business with Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp. From 1983 to 1985, McClure worked at Hoover Universal, which was acquired by Johnson Controls in 1985. He was operations director of material handling products for the newly formed business. Before that, McClure spent four years at Ford as a heavy-duty truck sales engineer and field service engineer. From 1975 until 1979, he served as a lieutenant (jg) on a U.S. Navy destroyer. McClure holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. He was named 2007 “Legend CEO” by Automation Alley – a business technology consortium in southeastern Michigan, and was ranked as one of Detroit’s Most Powerful People in 2006 by Crain’s Detroit Business, in addition to being listed in the publication’s “Who’s Who” among automotive suppliers. Lin Cummins, senior vice president of Communications, directs the global marketing, media relations and communications efforts of ArvinMeritor, Inc. In this position, she has overall responsibility for the corporation’s communications policy and strategy, executive and employee communications, corporate identity programs, public relations and governmental affairs. Cummins, who was elected a corporate officer in April 2000, also is responsible for advertising, product brand strategy, advanced marketing communications, community relations, contributions and the corporate Trust. Before being named vice president for Product Development in 1990, he held a number of technical assignments, ranging in fields from hydrodynamics and fluid dynamics to ballistic missile re-entry discrimination research. Grace’s last operations assignment at Calspan was as head of the Physical Sciences department. This department, with more than 100 engineers and scientists, was focused on research and development in the areas of analytical and experimental hypersonic aerodynamics, rocket plume research, gas turbine testing and analysis, and motor vehicle transportation research. Transportation research included a large crash-testing program for NHTSA and the development of crash-worthiness tests for automotive vehicles, as well as the development of dynamic tire testing for light- and medium-duty vehicles. Grace holds a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Remanufactured brake shoe applications include over-the-road (linehaul) tractors and trailers, as well as vocational vehicles such as buses and refuse vehicles. Remanufactured axle differential carriers can be found on a wide range of vehicles from over-the-road trucks to emergency vehicles.

Bill Taylor is director of Product Engineering, North America, for the Commercial Vehicle Exhaust group within the Commercial Vehicle Systems business group of ArvinMeritor, Inc. In this position, he directs the technical development of emission control systems for heavy vehicles. This activity includes product requirement definition; resource planning and purchasing; test operations management; technical design and development; and supplier development. Taylor also plays a key role in project strategy and system scope definition. Prior to his current role, Taylor was engineering manager of the Plasma Products Group at ArvinMeritor, where he managed a technical team on the development of advanced plasma-initiated on-board hydrogen generators. This team developed several key advancements in the technology, including the first installation of the plasma system on-board a vehicle, and the first compact, on-board plasma power supply. In 2001, Taylor was a fellow in ArvinMeritor’s System Design and Management program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Before entering the MIT program, Taylor was a project engineer in the company’s Advanced Technologies Group. In this role, his primary focus was in computational prediction of heat transfer, fluid flow, chemical reaction and thermal fatigue. Taylor holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University, a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and a master of science degree in engineering management from MIT.
