David P. Reed joined Ceradyne in November 1983, and has served as a Vice President since January 1988. In March 2005, Mr. Reed was appointed to the newly created position of President of North American Operations, with responsibility for all the Company's Advanced Ceramic Operations in Costa Mesa, Irvine and San Diego, California, as well as the new plant in Lexington, Kentucky; Ceradyne Thermo Materials, in Scottdale, Georgia; and Ceradyne Semicon Associates, in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Reed's focus has been and will continue to be on lightweight ceramic armor systems. Mr. Reed remains General Manager of Advanced Ceramic Operations, Costa Mesa and Irvine, California, responsible for the operations, finances and marketing of the facilities. Prior to joining Ceradyne, Mr. Reed served as Manager, Process Engineering for the Industrial Ceramic Division of Norton Co. from 1980 to 1983. Mr. Reed obtained a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University in 1976 and an M.S. in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1978.

Michael Kraft was appointed Vice President Nuclear and Semiconductor Business Units in June 2007. Mr. Kraft joined Ceradyne in February 2005 in the newly created position of Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Prior to joining us, from 2003 through 2005, Mr. Kraft was a Founding Principal of SunGlobal LLC, a business growth consulting group. From 2000 through 2002, Mr. Kraft was President, USA, for Rational AG and from 1993 through 2000, he held business development and marketing positions with Kulicke & Soffa Industries, Inc. Prior to 1993, Mr. Kraft held various management and marketing positions with General Electric Company. He holds degrees with honors from Michigan State University in electrical engineering and a Masters in Management degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Edelstein has served on our Board of Directors since 1984. Mr. Edelstein has been a Vice President of Stone Creek Capital, Inc., an investment banking firm, since November 1986. From 1979 to November 1986, he was Chairman of the Board of International Central Bank & Trust Company, which was acquired by Continental Insurance Co. in July 1983. Mr. Edelstein is currently a director of Arkansas Best Corp. and IHOP Corp. Mr. Edelstein obtained a B.A. degree in Mathematics from NYU in 1948.
