Robert J. Henkel is the President, Healthcare Operations and Chief Operating Officer at Ascension Health. Prior to his appointment, he served as President of the Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic States Operating Group at Ascension Health. Mr. Henkel has held executive positions with numerous other healthcare organizations, including the Daughters of Charity National Health System, St. Louis, Missouri; Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida; SSM Health Care in St. Louis, Missouri; and Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Marian Middle School in St. Louis, Missouri; Board member of the CHAN Healthcare Auditors; member of the University of Rochester Graduate School of Business Health Sciences Board; fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives; and member of the Healthcare Executives Network. He has also served as the Chairman of the Columbia St. Mary's Board of Trustees, Milwaukee. Mr. Henkel received a bachelor's degree in economics from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., and a master's degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Darrell obtained a football scholarship to Rice University in Houston, Texas, and lettered in football all four years (1984-88) as a wide receiver for the "Owls", and was voted "Most Valuable Receiver" for the season by the coaching staff. He obtained his B.A. degree in accounting from Rice, and is currently working for Ascension Health in Warren, Michigan as an Information Systems Audit Manager. He has a son, Darrell Jr., attending De La Salle and a daughter, Ashley, attending Regina. He is actively involved with various De La Salle functions, committees and programs. He enjoys working with and assisting youth development and/or growth by inspiring young men and women to achieve their academic and athletic dreams through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Agnieszka Winkler is a member of the Ascension Health Board of Trustees. She is the founder and Chairman of The Winkler Group, a management consultancy specializing in branding and marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Ms. Winkler received a bachelor?s degree from Holy Names University, Oakland, Calif., a master?s degree from San Jose State University, San Jose, Calif., and a MBA from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Cheesecake Factory (NASDAQ), the Board of Trustees of Santa Clara University, and is Vice Chair of the Board of IPLocks. She also has served on the Boards of RenoAir, SuperCuts and Inter-Tel. Ms. Winkler is the author of Warp Speed Branding: The Impact of Technology on Marketing. Andre L. Delbecq is the McCarthy University Professor at Santa Clara University, where he served as Dean of the Leavey School of Business from 1979 to 1989. His research and scholarship have focused on executive decision-making processes, organization design, managing innovation in rapid-change environments, and leadership spirituality. He is the Eighth Dean of Fellows of the Academy of Management, prior President of the Western Academy of Management and former Executive Director of the Organization Behavior Teaching Society. He is recognized internationally for executive programs delivered to high technology industries as well as health, human services and government organizations. He has served as member of three corporate Boards of Directors, and twice as Board Chair. Presently he serves on the Board of Trustees of Ascension Health. He directs the Institute for Spirituality of Organizational Leadership conducting dialog between theologians, executives and management scholars.

Ciro V. Sumaya, MD, M.P.H.T.M., a native of Brownsville, Texas, is the Dean of the new School of Rural Public Health and holder of the Cox endowed Chair in Medicine at Texas A&M University Health Science Center in College Station. During the prior 4 years Dr. Sumaya was a Presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He first served as Administrator of Health Resources and Services Administration, a federal focal point for innovation in health care delivery and health professions education, and subsequently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, spearheading the federal Initiative on the Future of Academic Health Centers. Before federal service, Dr. Sumaya was Associate Medical Dean at the University Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and has also held academic positions at the UCLA School of Medicine. As Associate Dean he established the South Texas Health Research, Area Health education Center of South Texas, and a Medical Treatment Effectiveness Research Center. Dr. Sumaya has published more than 110 professional journal articles and book chapters on pediatric viral infections, emerging as a leading physician-scientist in childhood infectious mononucleosis. His more recent publications are targeting national health policy issues. Dr. Sumaya was one of the six Founding Scholars in Academic Administration and Health Policy of the Association of Academic Health Centers and Executive Committee Member of the Surgeon General's National Hispanic Health Initiative. In 1993 he was selected as a group leader of the Health Care Workforce workgroup of the Presidential Task Force on Health Care Reform. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree (1963) with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was also selected to Phi Beta Kappa. His Doctor of Medicine degree (1966) was obtained from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston along with selection into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following a pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he completed a postgraduate fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Tulane University School of Medicine. He also earned a Master in Public Health and Tropical Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Public Health.
