Ashland Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James J. O'Brien, 54, knows Ashland and knows the chemical business. Since 2002, he has presided over the transformation of Ashland from a multi-industry petroleum refiner and marketer with holdings in chemicals and transportation construction into a global specialty chemicals company. O'Brien guides a company of 16,000 employees working to develop products, services and solutions that, through chemistry, meet customers' needs and contribute to improved quality of life. As chairman and chief executive officer, O'Brien leads Ashland's Executive Committee, whose members set Ashland's global strategy, manage its capital, and uphold Ashland's operating principles.

Ashland vice president and chief growth officer since August 2005, Walter H. Solomon, 48, is responsible for leading the company's corporate strategy and long-term innovation process. Solomon and his team are charged with mapping Ashland's transformation into a global specialty chemicals company and leader in sustainable chemistry, analyzing Ashland's businesses and anticipating changes in the marketplace to create sustainable, long-term success. Solomon joined Ashland in 2002 as senior vice president and general manager of Ashland Consumer Markets' (Valvoline) Do-It-Yourself business unit. While in that role, he grew profitability and premium lubricant volume each year. He also had global responsibility for brand management for Valvoline. Prior to joining Ashland, Solomon spent 20 years growing both large and small companies. His first 10 years were in a series of brand management roles with Procter & Gamble, ultimately directing marketing in P&G's hair care and juice drink businesses. Most notably, he grew Pantene* from a small, $4 million boutique brand into a $100+ million business en route to its becoming one of P&G's $1 billion global brands. He spent the next 10 years leading five privately funded startup companies in the healthcare and software industries, including an Inc. 500* company and an internet technology incubator. A native of Charleston, S.C., Solomon has served as president of the board of trustees of three not-for-profit organizations and as a board member for five others. He received his bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Virginia.

"As senior vice president and general counsel, Mr. Hausrath, 57, is responsible for managing all legal and corporate governance matters pertaining to Ashland. In addition, he directs the company's government relations, security, facilities management, and real estate functions and is chairman of Ashland's Ethics and Compliance Committee. Since 1999, he has also shared overall responsibility for setting global strategy, managing capital, and upholding Ashland's operating principles as a member of the company's Executive Committee. Hausrath joined Ashland's Law Department in 1980 as an attorney. He assumed positions of steadily increasing responsibility, becoming associate general counsel in 1997. He was promoted to vice president in 1998 and general counsel in 1999. In 2004, he was elected senior vice president. The Virginia native earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, and from 1974 to 1976, he was employed by DuPont in Richmond, Va., as a design engineer. He subsequently earned his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. Before joining Ashland, he served as a law clerk for the Virginia Supreme Court. Hausrath is a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association, American Bar Association, Ethics Officer Association, Kentucky Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. "Mr. Heitman, 55, joined Ashland in 2008 with more than 30 years of financial experience in the automotive, chemical, plumbing, oil-supply and consumer-electronics industries. As vice president and controller, he is responsible for Ashland's global financial accounting and reporting processes, including oversight of accounting policies and practices, external and internal financial reporting, new accounting standards and developments, and managerial accounting. Previously, Heitman served as controller for the $9 billion North American Tire operations of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. While there, he was responsible for all accounting and shared services covering eight subsidiaries, 21 manufacturing sites and 900 retail operations. He joined Goodyear in 2004 after three years of experience in the chemical industry at Ferro Corp., where he served as vice president of finance and interim chief financial officer. At Ferro, he successfully led the financial integration of a sizeable global acquisition, achieving targeted synergies, and was a key contributor to a $500 million debt-reduction effort. Heitman was also vice president and controller for Moen Inc., where he spent six years. Earlier in his career, he held numerous financial positions during a 16-year tenure with TRW. Heitman earned a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting and an M.B.A. in finance from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Financial Executives Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of CPAs. "

As president of Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients, Mr. Panichella, 50, leads a commercial unit with a primary market position in rheology modifiers – additives that alter the physical properties of water-based systems and are used to make everything from adhesives and paints to foods, pharmaceuticals and personal care products. Panichella joined Ashland in November 2008 following Ashland's acquisition of Hercules, where he had held a similar position since 2006. Under his leadership, the business enhanced core technologies with new product investments, added adjacent technologies to support the core, developed infrastructure to support growth in emerging markets and reduced costs in manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Hercules in 2006, Panichella enjoyed a 25-year career with General Electric and BetzDearborn, where he served in numerous management positions, including business development, operations management, sales and marketing, and strategic development. His last position at General Electric Water and Process Technologies was vice president and general manager of the Americas business. Before joining General Electric, he served as vice president of the Global Hydrocarbon Processing unit of BetzDearborn. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Panichella holds an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a volunteer and active supporter of Urban Promise, an organization serving children and youth living in the inner-city neighborhoods of Wilmington, Del.

"Mr. Chambers, 54, possesses extensive experience managing financial, administrative and operational functions broadly within Ashland. Elected senior vice president and chief financial officer in 2008, he oversees Ashland's worldwide financial functions and processes, including financial accounting and reporting, treasury and finance, insurance, business development, planning and analysis, investor relations, tax and internal audit activities. A member of Ashland's Executive Committee, he shares overall responsibility for setting Ashland's global strategy, managing capital, and upholding Ashland's operating principles. Chambers joined Ashland in 1976 as a staff auditor in internal auditing. During the following years, he moved through various analyst positions with then-subsidiaries Ashland Coal and Ashland Paving And Construction, Inc. (APAC). He was appointed controller for APAC in 1987. He returned to the corporate sector of Ashland as assistant controller in 1991 and, in 1994, was selected to serve as executive assistant to the chairman and CEO. In 1996, Chambers returned to Ashland's operations when he was named administrative vice president for Ashland Petroleum Company and, in 1998, vice president, finance, and controller for Marathon Ashland Petroleum LLC, which was divested in 2005. Later in 1998, Chambers was designated to the position of auditor for Ashland. In 2001, he returned to APAC where he served as senior vice president, finance and administration, until 2003, when he was named vice president of regional operations. Chambers was elected vice president and controller of Ashland in 2004 and to his present role in 2008. A native of Marietta, Ga., Chambers earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of West Georgia. He is also a graduate of the Executive Development Program at Indiana University's Kelly School of Business and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. "

"Ashland Inc. Vice President and President, Ashland Performance Materials Peter Rijneveldshoek, 56, oversees the sales, marketing and technology teams for the Casting Solutions, Composite Polymers and Specialty Polymers and Adhesives businesses. Maintaining his role from Barendrecht, the Netherlands, he will serve as the chair of the European Business Council and has responsibility for the coordination and leadership of business initiatives that are aligned to the specific needs and requirements of European markets. Peter will continue to directly manage Ashland's shared services center in Rotterdam. Rijneveldshoek joined Ashland in 1975, working in sales for Ashland's Drew Industrial business in Rotterdam. He has served as general manager for Drew Industrial's Dutch operations and marketing manager for Drew Industrial Europe. In 1990, he was promoted to Drew Industrial vice president for Europe and the Middle East; and in 2002, he was assigned additional responsibilities as director of Ashland's European Shared Business Services. In 2004, his area of responsibility was again expanded to include the Asia Pacific and African regions for Drew Industrial. Rijneveldshoek was named senior vice president of Performance Materials in 2005 and was appointed to vice president of Ashland and president of Ashland Europe in 2007. He was named to the present role of vice president and president of Ashland Performance Materials in 2008. A native of The Netherlands, Rijneveldshoek earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Delft. "

Mr. Craycraft, 39, heads one of North America's leading distributors of chemicals, plastics, composite materials and environmental services. Ashland Distribution is also a leading source of plastics in Europe and participates in the plastics distribution market in China, as well. Craycraft joined Ashland's Valvoline division in 1992 as a distributor-group sales representative in branded sales. During the next 10 years, he held several sales, management and business development positions within the Valvoline organization. In 2002, Craycraft was named vice president and general manager of Valvoline's Eagle One business unit, and a year later, he became vice president and general manager of the Valvoline distributor sales group. In 2004, Craycraft was promoted to vice president of business transformation, a position that gave him an expanded role in business development, as well as leadership responsibility for Valvoline's information technology, accounting and business effectiveness teams. In 2005, he was again promoted, becoming senior vice president and general manager of the Valvoline Do-It-Yourself (DIY) retail business group, and in early 2007, he was tapped to lead Valvoline's U.S. installer-channels group. In late 2007, Craycraft was asked to join Ashland Distribution as vice president of its chemicals business. He was named president of Ashland Distribution in 2008. A native of Ashland, Ky., Craycraft earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.

"Ms. Esler is vice president, human resources and communications, a position she has held since the fall of 2006. She reports to Jim O'Brien. Ms. Esler joined Ashland in 1999 as manager, executive compensation. She was promoted in 2001 to director, corporate human resources and in 2002 to vice president, human resources programs and services. In 2004, she was promoted to vice president, human resources. Jon has been with RPM Graphics for 5 years. As the general manager, Jon is responsible for production and operation of our Ashland and Mechanicsville locations. His sign experience is diverse having been in production and design capacities. Jon is based in our Ashland location.

Elliott Reinert has been active in educational sales and professional development for almost two decades serving school districts, colleges, correctional facilities and other community organizations nationwide. He brings particular expertise in the application of technology to meet the needs of students who struggle to read. As a consultant to school districts, Mr. Reinert is frequently sought by administrators and teachers seeking strategic and tactical advice as they integrate technology into the classroom. Mr. Reinert's experience in educational technology is coupled with an extensive background in media production. This blend of education and production experience brings a unique perspective on the capacity of multi-media learning to advance academic achievement. He has produced video, music and broadcasts for such organizations as The Christian Science Monitor, Videorecord Corporation of America and the American Management Association. Additionally, Mr. Reinert was the Producer and host of an internationally broadcast radio program for the CS Publishing Society. Mr. Reinert has held the position of Director of Professional Development for Lexia Learning Systems where he has designed and implemented professional development programs to improve the teaching of reading. His business experience includes having served as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Ashland, Oregon and numerous successful sales ventures. As a former teacher of math, music and drama in New York, Mr. Reinert is compelled to represent only those products which are proven to advance academic performance. He holds a bachelor's in fine arts from the State University College of New York at Buffalo.

Carol is married to Norman and has two sons and one daughter. Carol attended Philadelphia College of Performing Arts for five years and earned a double degree program in education and performance. As music director here at Ashland, Carol is the organist, is director of the Chancel and Chapel Choirs, is part of the worship team, leads the youth worship team and arranges special music and programs.

Christine Furlong, Midwest Territory Sales Manager, brings to POLARIS over 19 years of sales experience, most recently as both an OEM Corporate Account Manager and a heavy duty Commercial and Industrial Product Sales Manager for Valvoline, a division of Ashland, Inc. While at Valvoline, Furlong managed national and international OEM private label and Valvoline branded lubricants, antifreeze and chemical programs. She was also responsible for sales territory management for both Castrol Oil (now BP Lubricants) and Steuart Petroleum. Furlong is based in Chicago.

Amanda graduated from Ashland University in 1999 with a BA in History. In 2003 she was part of the first graduating class of 3 students to earn their associate's degree in veterinary technology from the Cedar Valley College/AAHA Distance Education Veterinary Technician Program. It was also in 2003 that she attended the DOGS! Course. Currently Amanda is employed at Daisy Hill Animal Hospital, Ltd. in Ashland, Ohio where she is medical/surgical manager and has worked for the past 8 years. In her "spare time" at the hospital she also runs puppy classes, coordinates puppy parenting appointments, training appointments, and behavior consultations. An SVBT member for the past 3 years, Amanda serves as the editor of The Behavior Perspective and is the current corresponding secretary. She is a member of NAVTA and also the AAHA Annual Conference Development Committee.

Jim is a lifelong naturalist, longtime environmental and human right activist, designer of Zen gardens and a former Buddhist monastic monk. He currently works as a tax consultant and accountant in Ashland and helps KS Wild on financial matters. Jim has lived in southern Oregon for 15 years and brings a wealth of experience to KS Wild.

Kerry is a Learning Strategist and Implementation Specialist whose expertise lies in training development and technical writing in the Information Technology domain. She has 12 years of experience designing, testing, and developing IT system and process documentation and developing EPSS systems. Her focus is on mapping business processes to technology and developing a training solution from that partnering. She has established self-sufficient, maintainable programs and support tools for many Fortune 500 companies. Kerry also has extensive experience in the analysis, design, development and implementation of Siebel, SalesLogix, Pivotal Relationship, and SAP solutions for a variety of companies serving various industries. Before joining TiER 1, Kerry was the President and Founder (1994) of Bulldog Solution Providers, Inc., specializing in the analysis, design, development and implementation of customized training solutions that included system and process curriculum, documentation and EPSS systems. Clientele includes Ashland Inc., Drew Marine, SouceExplorer.com, and PeopleMarket.com.

After four years away Mark Lambrecht returned to the FC Milwaukee coaching staff. A native a California Mark moved to Wisconsin in 1989. He now lives in Mukwonago with his wife Brenda and three kids Ashland, Amanda and Alec. When he is not coaching soccer he is a history teacher at Mukwonago High School. We are pleased to have Mark back with the FC Milwaukee staff. "I coach soccer because I love the game and never stop learning from the game. I enjoy working with kids and enjoy helping them develop as both players and people. I am coaching with FC Milwaukee because I enjoy working with people whom I love and respect like I would my own family. FC Milwaukee is also the most well-rounded club in the state, with the highest level of coaching and players while maintaining its integrity, which is a direct reflection of the people in charge of the program".

Rachel McKinniss is a graduate of Warburg College, Waverly, Iowa. She is a licensed social worker specializing in bereavement Coordinator at Wappner Funeral Directors, Racheal is responsible for Aftercare follow-up with families, counseling and psychosocial intervention, facilitating support groups, community education, and program consultation. Professional experience include more than 10 years in the fields of hospice and bereavement social work. Rachel is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, Ohio Funeral Directors Education Committee, the Steering Committee for the World Gathering on Bereavement, National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Chapter, Ohio Ryan White Rural Consortium, Richland County Older Adult Consortium. She is an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland, Ohio where she facilitates a Grief Share and is an adjunct faculty member in Human Services at North Central State College. Originally from Northeast Iowa, Rachel is married and is the mother of an active 5 year old daughter. She enjoys the outdoors, camping, traveling, music, public speaking, and reading.

Pastor McCartney joined us in November of 2000. Originally from Canton, Ohio, he spent the early part of his ministry at Terra Alta Church of the Nazarene and New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene, both in West Virginia. Pastor Rick is a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College and the Nazarene Theological Seminary and has recently obtained his doctorate at Ashland Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. Pastor and his wife Rose have 5 children and six grandchildren.

Trey Hieneman joined APSC in December, 2006 as Director of Government Affairs. He is a 2006 graduate of the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and a 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining APSC, Trey worked in the political arena, managing state House races. He also worked as an Account Executive for Webster/Strategies, a Washington, D.C. based consulting firm. He is the son of Paula Hieneman, an APSC shareholder from Ashland, KY. Originally from Ashland, Trey currently lives in Louisville. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies and playing basketball.

Barry Perry was appointed to the Cookson Board in January 2002. Barry was formerly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Engelhard Corporation. He is also a non-executive Director of Arrow Electronics, Inc and Ashland Inc.

"John Turner, 66, joined Ashland's board of directors in 2006 and serves on the Finance, Governance & Nominating and Environmental, Health & Safety committees. Mr. Turner served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Oceans and International and Scientific Affairs from 2001 to 2005. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of The Conservation Fund and director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He also served in the Wyoming state legislature for 19 years and is a past president of the Wyoming State Senate. He currently serves as a director of Peabody Energy Co., International Paper Co. and American Electric Power Co. Inc. He is a managing partner of Triangle X Ranch in Wyoming, chairman of the Ruckelshaus Institute of Environmental Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming, and a senior associate of The Conservation Fund. "

Ligocki is the president and CEO of Tower Automotive. Prior to Tower, she was the Vice President for customer service and parts sales for Ford in North America. In addition, she had global accountability for parts supply and logistics, vehicle service and technical support operations. Prior to that role, Ligocki was vice president, Strategy, Business Development, Canada and Mexico. She became a Ford Motor Company vice president in December 2000.

Lesley is a graduate of Southern Oregon University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies/Biology. She was Co-Director of the Ecology Center of the Siskiyous at SOU, a student-run and student-funded environmental resource center. While at SOU, she researched university paper consumption and helped shift paper procurement to 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper in certain departments on campus. She is a Board member of the Ashland-based Lomakatsi Restoration Project, the Vermont-based Global Justice Ecology Project and sits on the Grantmaking Committee of the MRG Foundation. Lesley organizes various activities for KS Wild, including the door canvass, website, film series, event planning, volunteer coordination and material development.

Mark C. Rohr is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Albemarle Corporation, a leading global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered specialty chemicals for a wide range of industries. Upon joining Albemarle in April 1999, Mr. Rohr was elected executive vice president of operations, with responsibility for the company’s Polymer and Fine Chemical global business units, global sales, marketing, and information resources. He was named president and chief operating officer in January 2000 and was elected to the company's board of directors in March 2001. In October 2002, he was named president and chief executive officer and, in August 2008, Mr. Rohr was appointed as chairman of the company's board. Under Mr. Rohr's leadership, Albemarle has substantially expanded its geographical footprint, diversified its product lines, and significantly increased shareholder return. Along with other strategic acquisitions, the company profitably integrated the Akzo Nobel refinery catalysts business, a move that has positioned Albemarle as a leading participant in the clean energy marketplace. The company has also expanded into new global markets including China and the Middle East through wholly-owned manufacturing/technical facilities and joint ventures. Since 2002, Albemarle has increased net sales from $1.0 billion to $2.3 billion; grown diluted earnings per share from $0.85 in 2002 to $2.36 in 2007; and declared annual dividends from $0.27 per share in 2002 to an annualized rate of $0.48 per share in 2008. Prior to joining Albemarle, Mr. Rohr was senior vice president for the Specialty Chemicals group of Occidental Chemical Corporation in Dallas, Texas, where he was responsible for a diverse portfolio of businesses. He has over 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, including assignments at Cain Chemical, Corpus Christi Petrochemical Company and Dow Chemical, with international experience in Asia, Latin America, and Europe. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Celanese Inc. A native of Kentucky, Mr. Rohr received B.S. degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1975 and 1977, respectively. He also completed the Executive M.B.A. Program at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1989.

The founder of Schoonover Industries, Robert Schoonover has over 30 years of experience in different areas of manufacturing, including welding, fabricating, machining, and tool and die design and construction. He has also worked as a troubleshooter for a major international structural steel company and served in different areas of management before starting his own company. He is proficient with CAD programs and Merry Mechanization's SMP/IS program. Robert was born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, where he graduated from Ashland High School in 1964. He has three children, Jim, Megan, and Amy, as well as a grandson, Josh. Along with his wife, Alyx, Robert enjoys walking, reading, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren. Robert is a member of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Small Manufacturers Council. He is a past Board member of the United Way of Ashland, the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, the Ashland City Club, ISCASH, the Domestic Violence Shelter and The Rotary Club of Ashland. During his tenure as President of the Rotary, the Club celebrated their 75th Anniversary.

"Roger Hale, 65, has been a director of Ashland since 2001. He is chairman of the Audit Committee and is also a member of the Finance Committee. Currently an independent consultant, Mr. Hale retired in 2001 as chairman and chief executive officer of LG&E Energy Corp., a position he had held since 1990. Prior to joining LG&E, he held various executive positions with BellSouth Corp. and AT&T Co. He is a director of Hospira Inc. "

Vada Manager, 47, became a member of Ashland's board of directors in 2008 and serves on the Finance and Personnel & Compensation committees. Currently an independent global consultant, Mr. Manager formerly held the position of senior director of global issues management for Nike Inc. Mr. Manager joined Nike in 1997 and held various management positions including senior strategist, advisor to senior management and project manager. Before joining Nike, he performed similar roles at Levi Strauss & Co. and was also a vice president of the Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm, Powell Tate, a part of Weber Shandwick.

Janet Smith Holbrook practices in the area of commercial law including bankruptcy, banking, creditor rights, commercial transactions and commercial litigation. Ms. Holbrook is currently a Chapter 7 panel trustee for the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. As a panel trustee for more than four years and by representing numerous creditors in bankruptcy cases, Ms. Holbrook has experience in a wide range of bankruptcy matters. Prior to becoming associated with Huddleston Bolen, LLP, Ms. Holbrook was the Director of Banking for the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions. Ms. Holbrook has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, commercial litigation, and other issues affecting banks and financial institutions. Additionally, Ms. Holbrook has handled numerous matters in the area of creditors rights. Ms. Holbrook is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. She attended Agnes Scott College and graduated with distinction in business administration from the University of Kentucky. She is active in various community matters and is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ashland, Kentucky.
