Jonathan has been a partner in the firm since 1997. He has extensive corporate and personal insolvency experience specialising in receiverships, administrations and liquidations. He leads The Disqualification Team working on Director Disqualification proceedings for The Insolvency Service, an executive agency of The Department of Trade and Industry. Dickinson Dees are the sole appointed agents dealing exclusively with all disqualification proceedings across the North of England. Jonathan is the longest serving member of the R3 (North East Region) Committee.
Michael has experience of a wide range of property transactions including development work, secured lending and insolvency related transactions and property aspects of energy and railways projects. He has specialised experience in relation to wind farm projects including reviewing existing leases and title investigation and has developed, in conjunction with Northern Electric Generation Limited and subsequently EDF Energy, bespoke documentation for wind farm sites comprising a deed of licence and option and draft lease.
Nigel specialises in corporate transactions and advisory work. This includes takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs as well as joint ventures, company formation and corporate regulatory matters. He had advised for many years on the Listing Rules, AIM Rules and the Takeover Code, as well as general corporate legislation. Nigel has worked with substantial private as well as pubic companies on a wide range of issues. He advises on both sales and purchases of businesses and companies and on regional, national and international transactions, including joint ventures (structured as companies, limited partnerships or limited liability partnerships). Nigela s experience ranges over many industrial and commercial sectors, including transport, property, utilities and the service sector, including IT and telecoms. Nigel advises on complex commercial agreements on a wide variety of subject matters. He is also heavily involved with the charitable and not-for-profit sector and has formed and advised many charitable companies. He has a particular interest in the arts.
Paul spent a number of years with local authorities before joining the planning unit of a major City of London firm. From there he joined Dickinson Dees to provide a specialist planning practice. His work has included major town centre redevelopment and housing projects and extensive experience of advocacy in Public Inquiries and Tribunals. Paul also sits on the Law Society Planning and Environmental Law Committee which consults on central government legislation and regulatory powers in related fields. He has also been involved in advising public authorities in relation to private legislation and Transport and Works Act powers and in opposing private bills in Parliament.
Robin read law as part of a joint honours degree at Durham University. After training in both Manchester and the North East Robin did on qualification initially practice as a criminal lawyer which helped him to develop his advocacy skills. Following a period of general commercial litigation he has for the past 15 years specialised in employment law. Unsurprisingly given his background his particular strength is representing employer clients in contentious cases. Robin has appeared in Tribunals throughout the United Kingdom from Aberdeen to Southampton. He conducts his own advocacy irrespective of the length of the estimated hearing. Using his experience gained in conducting contested cases Robin regularly advises public sector organisations and business (including plcs) at the highest level on complex employment law issues arising from mergers, acquisitions and re-organisations. Robin joined Dickinson Dees as a partner in January 2000 since when as well as conducting his employment law practice he has helped open and acted as Partner in charge of the Tees Valley office until being appointed senior partner of the firm in May 2005.
Sally is the fourth partner in the Group. Sally trained with Dickinson Dees and became a Partner in April 2002. She is experienced in all areas of insolvency, specialising in bankruptcy work and spearheads the Groupa s personal insolvency initiative. Sally heads up the Investigation Unit of The Disqualification Team and has worked with The Insolvency Service for in excess of 10 years on Director Disqualification cases.

James B. Hayes currently serves as Chairman and CEO of the Colorado Festival of World Theatre, an important addition to the professional non-profit theatre in America and to the network of world-class international theatre festivals. James recently retired as President and CEO of Junior Achievement Inc., a nationwide not-for-profit organization providing economic education to over four million students in the United States, and an additional one million young people in nearly 103 countries around the world. Hayes served as Chairman of Junior Achievement's national board of directors from 1991-1993 and was a board member of the organization from 1987 to 1995. During his chairmanship, Junior Achievement student numbers increased over 17%. While Chairman, Hayes led a delegation of Junior Achievement directors, students, teachers, volunteers and staff to Moscow in December 1991 to participate in the founding of Junior Achievement of Russia. Prior to his years as President of Junior Achievement, Hayes enjoyed a lengthy career in magazine publishing. He joined Time Inc. in 1959 and held various executive posts in the New York, Philadelphia, and Detroit offices of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED. In 1982, he became advertising sales director of MONEY Magazine, and was named publisher of DISCOVER in 1984. He was appointed publisher of FORTUNE in 1986 and held that position until retiring in 1994 to enter the independent sector. While publisher, Hayes founded the FORTUNE 500 Forum, an annual gathering of FORTUNE 500 CEO's to discuss the major issues facing business and the nation. A longtime advocate for improvement of the U.S. public education system, Hayes established the FORTUNE Education Summit. Held annually in Washington, DC from 1988-1993, the Summit brought together government, business and academic leaders to discuss the role of the business community in education reform. In further pursuit of these interests, in 1994 Hayes founded The New American Revolution, a business led initiative to address the needs of our nation's children. Over the years he has spoken about related issues at a variety of major forums throughout the land. Hayes was a speaker at the 1989 American Bicentennial Presidential Forum - the inauguration of George Bush. In September of 1990, he was one of 15 U.S. executives chosen to join a Presidential Mission to the Soviet Union to discuss new business development and economic cooperation. He is a longtime Member of the Board and the former Chairman of the Morehouse School of Medicine. Recently he joined the Social Enterprise Advisory Board of Harvard University. In addition he serves on several community and civic boards in his hometown of Colorado Springs. Hayes received his education at the Canterbury School and Georgetown University and served for two years with the United States Army in Europe. He has three children, is a native of New York City and currently resides in Colorado Springs.
