"Chuck del Prado, a member of the Management Board since 2006, assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer on March 1, 2008. As CEO, Chuck del Prado oversees the operations of the worldwide organization from the company headquarters in Bilthoven, the Netherlands. He is focusing on improving the Company’s Front-end operating performance and the more effective commercialization of Front-end products; these will drive improved investor returns. During his twenty-year career, Mr. del Prado has had worldwide experience in sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customer service of high technology computer and semiconductor products. From 2003 to 2008, he served as President and General Manager of ASM America, responsible for the R&D, sales, manufacturing, and service of the Epitaxy and TCP product lines, which include high-k and atomic layer CVD deposition. He also directed sales and service of ASM International’s Front-end product lines to all US customers. Previously, Mr. del Prado served as Director of Marketing, Sales & Service of ASM Europe. Prior to joining ASM International in 2001, Mr. del Prado spent five years at ASM Lithography in Taiwan and the Netherlands managing wafer stepper manufacturing and customer program management. From 1988-1996, Mr. del Prado had assignments in sales and global account management at IBM Nederland N.V. Mr. del Prado received a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Technology Management from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. "

Mr. Lee has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Science degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong; both degrees are in Electronics Engineering. He also has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. Mr. Lee joined the Group in 1980. He has over 25 years working experience in the semiconductor industry.

Arnold J.M. van der Ven became Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board in June 2005. Prior to his joining ASM International, Mr. van der Ven was Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board of Novamedia Holding B.V. from 2001 to 2004 and of Vedior N.V. from 1997 to 2000. He was Chief Financial Officer of Axxicon Group N.V. from 1991 to 1997 and started his career at McKinsey & Company in 1985. Mr. van der Ven holds a MBA degree from the University of Chicago, United States, and a law degree from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands.

" Han Westendorp, a twenty-year veteran of the semiconductor industry, holds this position since January 1, 2008. He was Chief Operating Officer Front-end Operations from February 2003 until January 2008. From July 1999 until February 2003, Mr. Westendorp was General Manager of ASM Europe where he supervised the sales, service and marketing of all ASM International’s Front-end product lines in Europe. As General Manager he was also responsible for the engineering and manufacturing of ASM International’s vertical furnace product line and during his tenure ASM Europe opened a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for its A400 and A412 vertical furnace products. Mr. Westendorp first joined ASM in 1986 as a physicist and was a key contributor in the development of one of the most successful ion implanters ever designed. Mr. Westendorp spent an initial five years with ASM Internatonal and returned to the company in 1999 after eight years with Tokyo Electon Ltd. (TEL). A recognized expert in the semiconductor industry, Mr. Westendorp has published more than thirty-five technical papers, holds seven patents and has seven additional patents pending. He earned a doctorate degree in physics and mathematics in 1986, and a master’s in physics and mathematics in 1981 from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. "

was elected a member of the Supervisory Board in May 2002 and is currently Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Mr. van Amerongen served as Chief Executive Officer of Koninklijke Swets & Zeitlinger and later as member of its Supervisory Board. Prior to that, he was active for over 10 years in the position of Group Director of Thomson-CSF (France), Chief Executive Officer of Hollandse Signaal Apparaten B.V. and President and Chief Executive Officer Europe, Middle East and Africa for Lucent Technologies. Mr. van Amerongen also serves on the boards of directors of various European companies.
