We try to give listeners a little bit of everything that's important to their day including traffic, weather, the stock market, breaking news and frequent updates to the day's major stories people may have missed while at work. It's a great way for listeners to catch up and stay plugged in".

Bob was born somewhere on the planet earth sometime between 1900 and 2000. Since then he has gallivanted here, there and Moldova. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan and a staff worker for Mercy Corps, Bob can talk for hours about intestinal diseases and memorable outhouse experiences. Bob tricked Sean and Chris into hiring him in December 2005. After many beers, it was decided that he would be the Online Managing Editor for BootsnAll's wildly successful bastard stepchild, World Cup Blog. With more than 4 million unique visitors and 17 million pageviews, the site helped Bob achieve international fame through interviews with National Public Radio, the Associated Press and with a really drunk W.-hating German in a Berlin bar. Not satisfied with dominating the World Cup cyberworld, Bob is also the Online Managing Editor for The Offside, which is the bastard stepchild of that bastard stepchild, World Cup Blog. He frequently contributes to Cheap Ticket Links, Cruise and Vacation Packages, EU Cheap Ticket Links and the Cycling Logue. Bob is the token vegetarian at the BootsnAll global world headquarters office, but he does not enjoy long walks on the beach.

About the Author: A member of the National Turf Writers Association, Marianna Haun has covered the racing industry since 1992, first as a staff writer for the Thoroughbred Times for two years, and now as a free-lance writer for the Associated Press for the past two years, while working on The X- Factor project and book. Haun has a long association with Secretariat. Like many people, she cried as she watched him win the Belmont on television in 1973. She later photographed him in 1987 and was on the farm the day he died in 1989. Her first story, "Great Heart," which appeared in the Thoroughbred Times in April, 1993, led to the quest to understand the meaning of Secretariat's enormous heat. Nearly a year later, after months of intense pedigree research, she discovered a genetic link from Secretariat's mighty heart to Eclipse's great heart through the mare Pocahontas on the X chromosome trail. This link was called the X Factor. This was the discovery that led to the ongoing research to prove the sex-linkage of the characteristic and to find the genetic marker.

Few people in Pennsylvania can match Tony's professional and governmental experience. As leader of Triad's strategic communications practice, Tony brings more than 30 years background in media, government and public relations. He has crafted winning messages and strategies for clients involved in some of the state's most contentious issues in recent years. Before joining Triad, he was executive vice president of central Pennsylvania's top consumer advertising agency, Neiman Group. Tony launched Neiman Group's widely respected social marketing and issues management division in 1994. At Neiman, he led the communications efforts for a host of clients including Fortune 500 companies, statewide labor unions and non-profit entities. Among the successful statewide efforts were communications and marketing programs for Pennsylvania's prepaid college tuition program, insurance fraud and auto theft prevention, education reform, tort reform, adult literacy promotion, securities fraud awareness, electricity and telecommunications competition and transportation services. Prior to joining Neiman, Tony was communications director for the late Gov. Robert P. Casey. He also served as press secretary for the late Gov. Milton Shapp. He was largely credited with building a state-of-the-art communications infrastructure for the Casey administration that included the Commonwealth's first local and wide-area networks, satellite links to news media, teleconferencing and maximization of public service advertising opportunities. He supervised the selection and management of more than 100 public relations, advertising and communications professionals and managed relationships with more than a dozen advertising and public relations firms representing billings of more than $25 million a year. Tony also served as the director of communications under House Speakers K. Leroy Irvis and James J. Manderino. He is a former reporter and editor for The Associated Press and newspapers in New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania. He currently serves as chair of the Pennsylvania Public Television Network via appointments by both Govs. Casey and Tom Ridge.

Several years ago, Roy Wells envisioned a new kind of public affairs firm. Its core services would be lobbying, strategic communications and business consulting. It would capitalize on new technology to scan the public policy landscape, to reach key audiences and bolster the relationships conducive to clients' success. Triad Strategies quickly emerged as one of the largest and most successful public affairs firms in Pennsylvania, whose clientele includes Fortune 500 companies, major healthcare providers and hospital groups, agribusinesses, energy companies, non-profits, state agencies and professional trade organizations. Today, Triad is uniquely positioned to take on the tough assignments that require creative strategies. As president, Roy recruited the largest staff of registered lobbyists in the state. The team includes former legislative and executive branch staff members from both sides of the political aisle. With strategic communications practice leader Tony May, he also has assembled Pennsylvania's premier group of issue management and crisis communications professionals. The result is the triad of lobbying, strategic communications and business consulting. Building on the firm's success in Harrisburg, Triad now has a presence in Philadelphia, Washington, Lancaster and Scranton. The firm has strategic alliances with partners whose expertise includes law, finance, advertising and marketing.
