Donald Hamm, Executive Vice President; President and Chief Executive Officer, Assurant Health. Mr. Hamm has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant Health since January 2003. Mr. Hamm first joined Assurant Health in 1982, holding several executive positions until 1993. He then worked as a principal with William M. Mercer, as a consultant with Tillinghast-Towers Perrin and as Vice President of the Southeast Region for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Wisconsin prior to rejoining Assurant Health in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Hamm is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.

Robert B. Pollock, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director. Mr. Pollock, age 54, has been serving as a director and as our President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2006. He served as our President and Chief Operating Officer between July 2005 and March 2006. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer starting in January 1999. From 1993 to 1999, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant Employee Benefits. Mr. Pollock began his career as an actuary at CUNA Mutual Insurance Group in 1974. He then joined the Company as a staff actuary at Assurant Employee Benefits in 1981. In July 1992, Mr. Pollock was appointed Senior Vice President, Group Life and Disability at Assurant Employee Benefits. In July 1993, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant Employee Benefits. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Previously, Mr. Pollock was the Chairman of the Disability Insurance Committee for the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA) for three years.

Christopher J. Pagano, Executive Vice President and Treasurer; President and Chief Investment Officer, Assurant Asset Management. Mr. Pagano was named Executive Vice President and Treasurer in July 2007 and has been serving as President and Chief Investment Officer, Assurant Asset Management, since January 2005. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Head of Fixed Income, Assurant Asset Management. Mr. Pagano joined Assurant in March 1996. Prior to joining Assurant, he served as Vice President at Merrill Lynch, where his latest role was as the government strategist in global fixed income research. He began his career at Morgan Stanley in 1985. Mr. Pagano received a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He earned his master of business administration in 1995 from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. Mr. Pagano is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

S. Craig Lemasters, president and chief executive officer, Assurant Solutions. Mr. Lemasters has been Assurant Solutions' President and Chief Executive Officer since June 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Lemasters served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the consumer protection solutions business line of Assurant Solutions. Between 1987 and 1998, he served as a Channel executive and Marketing Manager for various American Bankers businesses at the Company's Miami headquarters. After two years as Executive Vice President with Reliance Integramark, Mr. Lemasters rejoined Assurant in August 2000 as Group Senior Vice President, International Channel and was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in June 2001.

Bart Schwartz, executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary. Mr. Schwartz is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Assurant, Inc. since April of 2008. He previously served as Chief Corporate Governance Officer and Secretary of The Bank of New York Company Mellon Corporation, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., General Counsel and Senior Vice President of The MONY Group Inc., and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Willis Corroon Corporation. Mr. Schwartz began his legal career in 1978 with Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and later joined the Los Angeles office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Mr. Schwartz serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel and is a frequent writer and speaker on corporate governance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate law topics. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California School of Law and a masters of business administration from Vanderbilt University, Owen School of Management.

Michael J. Peninger, Executive Vice President; Chief Financial Officer, Assurant. Mr. Peninger became Chief Financial Officer of Assurant on March 15, 2009, a position he had held on an interim basis since July 2007. Prior to that, Mr. Peninger had most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant Employee Benefits, a position he had held since January 1999. Mr. Peninger began his career at Northwestern National Life in 1977 as an actuary. He then joined Assurant Employee Benefits in 1985 as a corporate actuary and has held various positions within the Company. In 1991, Mr. Peninger was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and in 1993 he became Senior Vice President of Finance and Claims of Assurant Employee Benefits. In 1998, Mr. Peninger was appointed Executive Vice President. Mr. Peninger is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

"Ms. Silvester has been Assurant's Executive Vice President since January 2001. Ms. Silvester's professional career spans more than two and a half decades, much of which has been in the insurance industry in human resources management, organization development and strategy. Ms. Silvester's experience includes 15 years with different parts of the Company in the United States and with Fortis in Europe, focusing recently on world-wide senior management development, company learning, human resources strategy and post-merger integration. Ms. Silvester is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Personnel Management in the United Kingdom and holds both her F.L.M.I. and American Compensation Association Certification. "

Sylvia R. Wagner, Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Development. Ms. Wagner was appointed Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Development effective April 1, 2009. She previously served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Development of Assurant Employee Benefits since May 1995, where she was responsible for overseeing human resources and development, employee communications, clinical and behavioral health services, and community relations. Prior to that, she served in various roles in human resources at Assurant Employee Benefits and its predecessors. Ms. Wagner has more than 34 years of experience in human resources and communications. She began her career with a subsidiary of Dayton Hudson Marshall Fields and was Personnel Officer at Western Life in 1984 when it was acquired by Assurant s predecessor. Ms. Wagner currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of South Dakota Foundation.

Ronny B. Lancaster is Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations for Assurant, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining Assurant, Mr. Lancaster was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Morehouse School of Medicine. Mr. Lancaster was previously the Executive Assistant to the Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ("HHS"), where his responsibilities included a wide range of policy, program and management matters. Mr. Lancaster has also served as General Counsel of Hamilton Enterprises, Inc., Senior Washington Representative for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association, Chief of the Division of Fee-For-Service Plans at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and Executive Assistant to the Chairman at the National Institute for Advanced Studies. Mr. Lancaster earned a B.A. in Economics from the Catholic University of America, an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. He is also admitted to the Bars of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, serves as a Board member for the Morehouse College Research Institute and is a past president for the Minority Health Professions Schools as well as the Minority Health Professions Foundation.

Beth L. Bronner has been a director since November 1993, and is the chairperson of our Compensation Committee. Ms. Bronner is currently a Managing Director of Mistral Equity Partners. Ms. Bronner served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Jim Beam Brands Worldwide, Inc., from September 2003 to July 2006. From May 2001 to September 2003, Ms. Bronner served as a private consultant and president of a private realty company. Ms. Bronner also serves as a director of Assurant, Inc. (formerly Fortis, Inc.).

Robert J. Blendon is currently professor of health policy and political analysis at both the Harvard School of Public Health and the John F. Kennedy School of Government and has received outstanding teaching awards from both institutions. He has also received both the national Eisenberg award and the Mendelsohn award for excellence in mentoring. Dr. Blendon directs the Harvard Opinion Research Program, which focuses on the better understanding of public knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about major domestic public policy issues. He also co-directs the Washington Post/Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) survey project, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and previously directed a project for National Public Radio and KFF on American attitudes toward health and social policy, which was cited by the National Journal as setting a new standard of public opinion surveys in broadcast journalism. From 1987 to 1996, Dr. Blendon served as chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health and as the deputy director of the Harvard University Division of Health Policy Research and Education. Prior to his Harvard appointment, he was senior vice-president at The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Blendon was senior editor of a three volume series The Future of American Health Care and is a member of the Institute of Medicine, a former member of the advisory committee to the director of the Center for Disease Control, and a former member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Blendon is a graduate of Marietta College and received his master's of business administration and doctoral degrees from the University of Chicago and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, respectively.

"Michele Coleman Mayes has been named vice president and general counsel of The Allstate Corporation and senior vice president and general counsel for Allstate Insurance Company, effective November 12, 2007. She will also be a member of the Allstate senior management team. As Allstate's chief legal officer, Mayes will be responsible for guiding Allstate's strategy to ensure sound compliance of governance practices, fostering a healthy legal, legislative and regulatory environment. Mayes brings extensive legal, corporate and government experience to Allstate. From 1976 through 1982, Mayes served in the United States Department of Justice as Assistant United States Attorney in Detroit and Brooklyn, eventually assuming the role of Chief of the Civil Division in Detroit. In 1982, she entered the corporate sector as managing attorney of Burroughs Corporation. Her career continued to evolve as Burroughs and Sperry Corporation merged, creating Unisys Corporation, for which she was appointed staff vice president and associate general counsel for Worldwide Litigation. In February 1992, she joined Colgate-Palmolive Company as vice president and associate general counsel U.S. In 1993, she was promoted to vice president of Human Resources and Legal for North America. She next became vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary, and effective May 2001, she was promoted to vice president, legal and assistant secretary, and elected a corporate officer. In 2003, she assumed her most recent position of senior vice president and general counsel at Pitney Bowes. Mayes has received many awards and accolades, including the Margaret Brent Award from the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and the Trailblazer Award from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. She has also been identified as one of America's top African-American lawyers. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and her JD from the University of Michigan Law School. "
