David Nicoli is responsible for federal and state government affairs; corporate, product, and employee communications; corporate philanthropy; ally development; and community relations.

Glenn Engelmann serves as general counsel for AstraZeneca US, while managing a diverse organization that builds relationships with key policy, scientific, medical, and regulatory decision makers throughout the US healthcare community.

Karen Gotting-Smith became a leader in AstraZeneca Clinical Development in September 2005. Karen is responsible for the US Clinical Development region, which is one of three regions within AstraZeneca that are responsible for the design and delivery of clinical development programs. These programs span the AstraZeneca portfolio from phase I to phase IV clinical trials, for products already available and for new products in development.

Kenneth's career began in 1982 with the Merck manufacturing division, where he became one of the original founders of AstraMerck in 1992. He was head of operations for AstraMerck and Astra Pharmaceuticals for seven years. Prior to his current position, Kenneth was Vice President Supply Chain Operations and Strategy for AstraZeneca.

Mark Mallon leads the marketing, sales, commercial operations, and commercial managed markets organizations. He is also responsible for the AZ Healthcare Innovation Center, and for identifying, developing, and implementing new practices within the US business.

Previously, Rich served as Vice President Primary Care for the GI and respiratory franchises. As the largest units within the US business, they include key brands such as NEXIUM (esomeprazole magnesium) and PULMICORT RESPULES (budesonide inhalation suspension). In 2005, NEXIUM attained market leadership in total prescriptions.

Todd H. Kasdan, M.D. is a licensed board-certified physician. Dr. Kasdan served his internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He earned his M.D. degree from Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine, and was awarded a B.S. degree in physiology from Michigan State University. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kasdan is on the speakers bureau for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Inc., Astra Zeneca PLC, and Abbott Labs; serves as a consultant to or sits on the advisory board of Eli Lilly & Company, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Sanofi Synthelabo; receives grant support from Novartis Pharmaceuticals AG; and, is involved in clinical research trials with Janssen Pharmaceutica LP. Additionally, Dr. Kasdan sits on Cornell Companies' (NYSE - CRN) Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee.

John Buchanan was appointed independent non-executive Deputy Chairman in 2005 and became Chairman in April 2006. He is Chairman of the Nominations Committee. He is Deputy Chairman of Vodafone Group Plc and a non-executive director of AstraZeneca PLC and BHP Billiton. He was formerly Group Chief Financial Officer of BP p.l.c.

Dr. Henney serves on a number of Boards of Directors related to her work in Cincinnati, including UC Foundation, UC Physicians, University Hospital, Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center, Medical Center Fund of Cincinnati, Bio/Start and OMERIS. She also serves on the boards of The Commonwealth Fund and the China Medical Board in New York City, AmerisourceBergen Corporation and CIGNA Corporation in Philadelphia and AstraZeneca PLC in London. Dr. Henney has received many honors and awards in her field, including election to the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine, the Society of Medical Administrators and honorary membership in the American Colleges of Health Care Executives. She is the recipient of the Excellence in Women's Health Award from the Jacobs Institute, the Public Health Leadership Award from the National Organization of Rare Disorders, the DHHS Secretary's Recognition Award and, on two separate occasions, the PHS Commendation Medal. Dr. Henney has received honorary degrees from North Carolina State University, Manchester College and the University of Rochester. A native of Indiana, Dr. Henney received her undergraduate degree from Manchester College, her medical degree from Indiana University, and completed her subspecialty training in medical oncology at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute and the National Cancer Institute.

Courtois previously served as CEO and president of Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where he led business planning and sales, marketing and services. Among his many notable accomplishments, significant improvements in customer satisfaction, enhanced regional integration and record sales growth stand out. Before his role in EMEA, Courtois was vice president of worldwide customer marketing, based out of Microsoft's U.S. headquarters in Redmond, Wash. Courtois joined Microsoft in 1984 as a channel sales representative, and after holding several leadership positions rose to general manager for Microsoft France in 1994. Outside of Microsoft, Courtois is administrator for PlaNet Finance and Microsoft's official representative at the Institut Montaigne. He has served as co-chairman of the World Economic Forum's Global Digital Divide Initiative Task Force and on the European Commission Information and Communication Technology task force. A French national, Courtois obtained his diplôme des études commerciales supérieures (DECS) from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce, Nice (CERAM).

Sir Peter Bonfield is currently Senior Non-Executive Director of the board of AstraZeneca PLC and Non-Executive Director, Corporate Board of the Department for Constitutional Affairs. Sir Peter holds Directorships on the boards of L.M. Ericsson, U.S. based Mentor Graphics Corporation Inc. and Taiwan based semi-conductor company TSMC, where he is also Chairman of the Audit Committee. His career has included Directorships of B.I.C.C. plc, Cutty Sark Trust, D.E.S.C. Ltd. and mmO2 plc. He is a Member of the Sony Corporation Advisory Board, the Citigroup International Advisory Board and International Advisory Panel, University of London. He is also Vice President of the British Quality Foundation, and Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering. He has also been a Member of the Trilateral Commission, The European Round Table (Steering Group), The High Level Working Group of the European Information Society, the EU-Japan Business Dialogue Round Table and the Civil Service College Advisory Board.

Rudy Markham was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director in October 2006. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Standard Chartered PLC and is Chairman of its Audit & Risk Committee. Rudy is an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Unilever PLC and Unilever NV. Having gained a Masters degree in Natural Sciences from Christ's College, Cambridge, Rudy went on to become a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
