ATB Financial

As Chief Financial Officer, Jim McKillop is responsible for the team that manages the accounting, management reporting and decision support, and budgeting and financial planning functions for ATB Financial. His team also ensures proper internal controls are maintained. Prior to joining ATB Financial, Jim served as VP of Finance and CFO for Lilydale Foods, where he was responsible for the Finance, Information Systems and Legal areas. He also spent two years in Prague, Czech Republic, as Controller for a wireless phone company, as well as nine years with Telus. Jim spent nine years with Echo Bay Mines in various capacities. Jim graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Business Administration, Commerce. He is also a Chartered Accountant. In his capacity of Chief Financial Officer, Jim will operate out of ATB Financial's corporate office in Edmonton.

Ken Casey leads the Information Technology Solutions Delivery team at ATB Financial. His responsibilities include: the performance, security, architecture, and resilience of all technical platforms and communications networks; corporate project management implementation and tracking; and technical workplace services to all business units. Ken has been employed in Financial Services since 1972. Before joining ATB Financial in 1996, he gained experience with both Canadian and foreign-owned chartered banks, as well as a trust company. Ken currently sits on the board of The Canadian Payments Association. Ken is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and holds degrees in Political Science and Economics from the University of Calgary. An active volunteer, Ken sits on the board of Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta.

As Vice-President, Energy, Bruce is responsible for helping to build ATB Financial's Energy business and capabilities. His team are industry specialists in all aspects of the energy industry, including: drilling and service, pipelines, utilities, midstream, exploration and production. Before joining ATB, Bruce was a senior Royal banker and has more than 30 years of experience, with a focus on the oil and gas industry. He has been a speaker at several oil and gas industry seminars on finance, and has participated in numerous specialized training programs in corporate finance, law, securities, and management. Bruce is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, a member of the Calgary Petroleum Club, and is a very active participant in community and church activities. He is currently the Division Chair, heading up the Oil and Gas Division, for United Way.

Dean Ozanne is responsible for Central Services and Operations, providing service and support to the branch network. Central Services provides processing services for all retail, business, and agricultural loans and deposits. Operations is responsible for policy, business rules and processes for the 152 branches in ATB Financial's network. Dean's team includes Branch Support, a one-stop help desk that is the primary contact point for branches to obtain answers to any question on ATB policy, business rule or process. The team members are experts in their field, with extensive lending, administration, branch and Central Services experience. Dean joined ATB Financial in 2000, bringing with him 16 years of experience in banking with the Royal Bank. In his role as Vice-president NW Region with ATB Financial, he was responsible for sales, growth and development in the Northwest region. Dean has a degree in Economics from the University of Alberta. He has a diverse background, having held many different jobs prior to starting his banking career. They range from managing a golf course, a crane company and a hotel to script writing for Occupational Health and Safety movies to working as a construction tech for Bechtel on the construction of the Syncrude plant. Dean is a board member with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and is a volunteer advisor with CESO International Services (Canadian Executive Services Offshore). CESO provides subject matter experts in Canada and abroad to help with local economic development initiatives.

As ATB's Vice President, Corporate Financial Services, Agri-Industry and Food Group, Ed Knash is responsible for all corporate accounts and opportunities in the broadly defined Agri-industry and Food sectors. The target Agri-industry and Food sectors include all components of the agri-industry and food value-chain including Corporate level primary agricultural production, all agri-industry and food components (food processing/manufacturing, wholesaling and retail), all associated service industries, forestry and biotechnology. Ed joined ATB in March 1998 after 14 years in agriculture with a major Canadian bank in Alberta. He has worked in several positions with the provincial Agriculture Departments for both Saskatchewan and Alberta. Ed is a founding member and Past-Chairman of the Agriculture & Food Council, a founding Board Member of AVAC Ltd. (Alberta Value-Added Corporation), a founding Board Member of the Alberta Biotechnology Association, and Board Member of the Alberta Science and Technology Leadership Awards Foundation. Born and raised on a farm in eastern Saskatchewan, Ed has an ongoing interest in farming. He holds a B.Sc. in agriculture and a B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan.

Keith Hughes is responsible for the North region, consisting of 53 branches and 38 agencies, extending from Leduc to High Level and Jasper to Bruderheim. We are responsible for providing Sales and Service Excellence to our expanding marketplace through an engaged team of associates, focused on creating value for our shareholder. Keith has been with ATB for four years in various Regional VP capacities. Prior to joining ATB Financial, Keith was with Royal Bank for 16 years, involved in Retail , Conditional Sales, Business, Aboriginal and Commercial Banking. He has also had the opportunity to be involved in HR from a Training/Recruitment and Services perspective. Keith graduated from Camosun College with a major in Finance and Marketing. In 2002 he received his FICB designation (Fellows of the Institute of Canadian Banking). Currently involved with the Edmonton United Way, Keith has held various positions with many community organizations, especially focused with community-based aboriginal groups.

Rob is the Vice-President, Personal & Business Banking for central Alberta for ATB Financial. As such, he is responsible for sales and service delivery in 52 branches and 66 agencies. Rob has been in the Financial Services Industry for 18 years. He is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CFP). Rob is the Past Chair of the Institute of Canadian Bankers - Education for Manitoba. He is an active member of the University of Lethbridge Mentorship Program (Business). Currently in studies to complete his MBA, Rob's interest is in the field of human resources, specifically organizational behavior. Rob is a father of two children who keep him exceptionally busy, with coaching and participating in the various events engaging them (soccer, baseball, horseback riding). He sits as a charter member of the Lethbridge Sunrise Rotary Club.

Al O'Brien (Edmonton) is the former Deputy Provincial Treasurer. He also served as director with the Alberta Pension Administration Corporation, the Alberta Municipal Finance Corporation and the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation. He is a public member on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta, a member of the Investment Committee of Alberta Teachers' Retirement Fund and a director of IFPT Management Inc. in Montreal. Mr. O'Brien is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Economics at the University of Alberta and a Senior Fellow of the C.D. Howe Institute.

Bern Kotelko (Vegreville) is President of Highland Feeders Ltd., and serves as co-chair for Alberta Prion Research and a director for the Alberta Economic Development Authority. Mr. Kotelko was named among the Alberta Venture 50 Most Influential in 2007 and is the recipient of several Growing Alberta Leadership Awards, a University of Alberta Alumni Award of Excellence, a National Environmental Stewardship Award, an Alberta Insitute of Agrologists Distinguished Agrologist Award, an AsTec Award for Environmental Innovation and an Alberta Cattle Commission Environmental Stewardship Award. He has received certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Garnet Altwasser (Brooks) is the former President and CEO of Lakeside Farm Industries Ltd. Garnet has served on numerous boards in agribusiness as Director of the Alberta Division of the Canadian Feed Manufacturer Association, Director of Alberta Cattle Feeders Association, Chairman of Canadian Meat Council and Chairman of Veterinary Infectious Diseases Organization.

J.W. (Jack) Halpin (Calgary) is a partner with Halpin and Company Chartered Accountants and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. Mr. Halpin was a member of the Audit Committee of the Executive Council of the Province of Alberta. He has been a partner with various accounting firms and previously served as Chair of the Calgary General Hospital Board and the Holy Cross Hospital Disposition Committee. He is currently a Board member and Finance Committee Chair for the Alberta Cancer Board.
