Ruben J. King-Shaw, Jr. has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2005 and was named Lead Director in 2007. Mr. King-Shaw is the Chairman and CEO of Mansa Equity Partners, Inc., which he founded in 2005. As Chief of Staff, Pooser is the member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for developing athenahealth's human capital development and management strategy, in addition to building the people infrastructure, which reflects and reinforces athenahealth's unique, teaching and learning culture. In this capacity, she is responsible for the management of the Human Resource, Training, Knowledge Management and Facilities functions. Pooser joined athenahealth in 1998 and built the HR function, leading it through the company's dramatic expansion from 10 to 200 employees. From 2002 through 2003, in her capacity as Compliance Officer, she managed athenahealth's successful effort to comply with the HIPAA privacy regulations. More recently, she led the firm's efforts to create a knowledge management function and to build out athenahealth's new headquarters at the Arsenal on the Charles, in Watertown.

Dave started his career in the Navy, joining the nuclear-powered submarine force after graduation from the US Naval Academy. He served on the fast-attack ship USS Baltimore and led a shift of staff and students at a training reactor plant before leaving the service. After the military, Dave was a consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick's Federal Services Group before following his love of computer technology into an IT position at Polaroid corporation. Dave attended the MIT Sloan from 1997-1999, actively participating in the entrepreneurial community and the MIT $50K Competition. Following MIT Sloan, Dave joined Intel in Oregon, where he managed the product marketing team in Intel's motherboard division. He and his family returned to the Boston area in 2002, where he works as Director of Claims Submissions for Athena Health, a rapidly growing electronic services provider to the health care industry. Dave has a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy, an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University and an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan.

Josh Purinton is a senior developer at Athena Health and is the technical lead for the eligibility-checking system of their flagship Web-based practice management software. As president of his own consulting company, he has served as the chief technical director for The Daily Source, helping to design the site architecture, hire developers for the project and advise on site problems. His consulting has also led him to writing a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol management application in Ruby on Rails for a broadband Internet service provider, in addition to other system development roles. Richard Foster is the Managing Partner of Millbrook Management Group, LLC. Prior to forming Millbrook Management Group, Mr. Foster was with McKinsey & Company, for 31 years, 22 of which were as a senior partner and director. Mr. Foster's most recent position at McKinsey was as the leader of McKinsey's Private Equity practice. Prior to that Mr. Foster co-founded the Firm's high technology practice in the late 1970s, the chemicals practice in the early 1980s, and the healthcare practice in the late 1980s. Mr. Foster also led McKinsey's worldwide knowledge development efforts from 1995 to 1998. While at McKinsey, Mr. Foster served more than 50 leading global companies primarily in healthcare, electronics and chemicals. He devoted most of his time to the top management of a Fortune 50 healthcare company where he was a lead external advisor from 1990 2003. Mr. Foster has written two best selling business books: Innovation: The Attacker's Advantage (1986) and Creative Destruction (2001), that focus on the relationships between technological change, innovation and capital formation and destruction. Mr. Foster is a member of the board and the Executive and Nominating Committees of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, where he is Chairman of the Operational Policy Committee. He is a member of the board and the Executive Committee of the W. M. Keck Foundation. He is a member of the CEO Council of the New York Academy of Science. Mr. Foster also serves on the Advisory Board of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. Mr. Foster is a member of the board of the Trust Company of the West, Athenahealth, a private healthcare information company, Cardax an inflammatory disease drug development corporation and Hawaii Biotech, an infectious disease company and Cardax an inflammatory disease drug development corporation. Mr. Foster is a member of the board of the Council of Foreign Relations where he member of the Nominating and Membership Committees of the board.
