R. Wayne Alexander, MD, PhD (Chairman) - Dr. Alexander is R. Bruce Logue Professor of Medicine, and Chairman, Department of Medicine, for Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Alexander received his PhD in physiology from Emory University and his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, and did his fellowship in cardiology at Duke University. Prior to his appointment at Emory, Dr. Alexander was Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Alexander has published extensively in the cardiovascular literature. In addition, he is coeditor of Hurst's The Heart, 8th edition and Companion Handbook of The Heart, 8th edition. He is on the editorial boards of many journals including the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Circulation Research, and Circulation. Active in many professional societies, Dr. Alexander is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American Federation for Medical Research, and Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. His research interests include the biologic basis of the pathogenesis of the coronary ischemic syndromes, the molecular mechanisms of hormonal control of vascular reactivity and the cell biology of vascular smooth muscle and endothelium.

Roger Kitterman joined Mi3 Venture Partners in 2003. Roger is an experienced venture capital investor and has guided multiple venture-backed companies through the earliest stages of development. He represents Mi3 on the Board of FlowMedica. Roger has over ten years of venture capital experience investing in healthcare companies. He has also been the startup CEO for three venture-backed companies. Prior to joining Mi3, he was a managing director at Lee Munder Venture Partners, the venture capital arm of Lee Munder Capital Group. He joined Lee Munder from Boston University's Community Technology Fund, where he made venture capital investments in the life sciences and developed spinouts from the university. Roger began his venture capital career in Eastern Europe with the Bulgarian-American Enterprise Fund, a $55 million venture capital fund. Roger's track record includes investments in AtheroGenics (NASDAQ: AGIX), Exact Sciences (NASDAQ: EXAS), NitroMed (NASDAQ: NTMD), and Sequenom (NASDAQ: SQNM). Roger received his M.B.A. (Finance and Business Development) from the Columbia School of Business and his B.A. from Harvard College.

Margaret E. (Peg) Grayson was elected to the AtheroGenics board of directors in July 2006. Ms. Grayson is President of Coalescent Technologies, a professional engineering firm that provides engineering products and services to the Department of Defense, federal agencies and commercial clients. She is also the President of Grayson & Associates, a management consulting and advisory practice for audit, policy and regulatory compliance. From 2005 until 2006, Ms. Grayson served as President of AEP Government Solutions Group and Executive Vice President and General Manager of AEP Networks. She served as President and CEO of V-ONE Corporation, before it combined with AEP Networks in 2005. Prior to joining V-ONE, Ms. Grayson served as Chief Financial Officer for SPACEHAB, Inc., and for Sirius Satellite Radio, dba, CD Radio, Inc. in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), serving at the request of President George W. Bush, and provides advice to the Secretary of Homeland Security and the President on the security of our Nation s critical infrastructure. Ms. Grayson is a member of the Financial Executives Institute of Washington D.C., the Potomac Officers Club and has been named to Maryland s Top 100 Women. She is a member of the Dean s Advisory Council for the School of Management at the State University of New York, and the Advisory Board for the Center of Excellence in Information Assurance at SUNY Buffalo. Ms. Grayson holds an M.B.A. from the University of South Florida and a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
