Austin Travel

Jeffrey Austin, has been President since 1996. Before heading the company, he was Vice President of Operations for 10 years and Director of Computer Operations for five years. Jeff graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania in 1978, where he studied economics and math, and earned a master's degree from New York University's Stern School of Business in 1981. He serves on the advisory board of Traveling Times magazine and Holiday Inn, on the board of directors for the Arthritis Foundation, and works with the Heart Council of Long Island and the Center for Family Business at C.W. Post campus of Long Island University.

Larry Austin, Chairman and Chief Executive, founded Austin Travel in 1955. This family-run company is currently the largest travel agency on Long Island, and one of the largest in the country. All 30 nationwide offices are owned and operated by Austin Travel. Austin is active with a number of organizations, including the Long Island Philharmonic, the Long Island Association and WLIW/21. He was named Man of the Year by United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Suffolk in 1993, and was recently honored with the Ernst & Young Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Austin is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and City College of New York.

Jamie Austin, Vice President of Sales and Account Management, oversees the corporate travel sales efforts as well as account retention. After receiving his degree from Babson College's School of Management in 1981, Jamie joined the company's accounting department as Vice President of Finance. In 1994 he became responsible for new corporate sales, and four years later took on account management responsibilities.

Lewis Semmel, Vice President of Finance, is responsible for the direction of the company's accounting department. Semmel joined the company in 1994 after 20 years at W&J Sloane, furniture retailer, and the Glemby Co. a salon concessionaire.

Patricia Wallace, is Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. Ms. Wallace coordinates employee benefit programs and policies and manages special projects including community-oriented sponsorships and promotions. A 28-year veteran of the company, Pat holds a bachelor's degree in Management and Communications from Adelphi University and is certified by the Society of Human Resource Management as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and HR Generalist.

Roz Resnick, began her career at Austin Travel 26 years ago as a trainee. As Vice President of the Leisure Division , her responsibilities include operations, sales and marketing, and business development. Her most recent accomplishments are the cruise center and the new Garden City office. The Leisure Division also includes university and hospital travel, and is home to over 100 independent contractors.

Stewart Austin, Vice President of Information Technology, joined the company in 1987 as Manager of General Operations. He maintains the company's computer network as well as the Lucent definity phone system. Stewart devotes a great deal of time on research and development, and creating programs to improve efficiency.
