On 1 July 2005, Mr Solomon (“Sol”) Trujillo joined Australia’s leading
telecommunications company, Telstra Corporation Limited (Telstra) as its
Chief Executive Officer. Mr Trujillo is one of the world’s few CEOs with
executive experience spanning 3 continents. At the age of 32, Mr Trujillo was
the youngest Officer in the history of AT&T.
From 1992-95 Mr Trujillo was President and CEO of US West Dex Inc. From
1995-1998 Mr Trujillo was President and CEO of US West Communications.
From 1999-2000 Mr Trujillo was CEO and Chairman of US West Inc. At US
West Mr Trujillo led the deployment of a series of innovative
telecommunications products including: affordable high-speed digital access
to Internet for business and consumers, incorporating the first “plug and
play” DSL; the first “one number” voicemail for home, mobile and office lines;
and, digital video over copper wires. At the end of his time at US West,
innovation was the by-word for the company amongst its 30 million
customers. These combined achievements led to the former US Presidential
Science Advisor, Jay Keyworth, to term Mr Trujillo, “the nation’s first digital
telecom CEO”.
Mr Trujillo was the first native born Hispanic-American to serve as CEO of a
Fortune 150 company.
Following his role at US West Mr Trujillo was CEO of the hi-tech company
Graviton.
Then in 2001 Mr Trujillo joined the Board of Orange SA, the London-based
multinational wireless company with 50 million customers in 19 countries in

Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Two years later, at the request of the
Board. Mr Trujillo was appointed CEO of Orange, becoming the first
American to lead a CAC-40 company.
Mr Trujillo has held board memberships in a number of international and
domestic companies including: PepsiCo, Target, EDS, Gannett and, the Bank
of America. Mr Trujillo was also a member of the Chairman’s Advisory
Council of Alcatel between 2000-2003.
Mr Trujillo has provided policy, trade and economic advice to international
and domestic governments, academic institutions and think-tanks including:
Governor of the World Economic Forum, trustee of Boston College and UCLA’s
School of Public Policy, director of the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute, and
trade policy advisor to the Clinton and Bush administrations.
Mr Trujillo has demonstrated his commitment to increasing the breadth and
depth of management experience in all companies he has led by raising the
levels of ethnic, gender and industry diversity. At Telstra he has quadrupled
the number of women Group Managing Directors since he started.
Mr Trujillo graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of
Science (Business) and later an MBA in finance. Mr Trujillo was granted
honorary doctorates from both the University of Wyoming and the University
of California.
Andrew Morawski is President of Telstra Incorporated. As President, Morawski aims to drive Telstra Incorporated to the forefront of the telecommunications industry through elevated customer service and building on Telstra's value added services for North America, South America, Asia Pacific, and European clients. Before being promoted to President, Morawski was responsible for the expanded global sales engagement initiative managing Telstra resources in the United States, Australia, India, Hong Kong, China, United Kingdom, Singapore and Japan as Senior Vice President, Sales and Global Accounts. A key member of the Telstra team, Morawski helped foster a year on year sales growth of over 20 percent for multiple years during one of the toughest periods in the Telecom industry. Before he became Telstra Inc.'s Senior Vice President, Sales and Global Accounts Morawski was responsible for managing all Telstra Incorporated sales team activities in both North and South America. Prior to this, Morawski was Eastern Regional Vice President of Telstra Inc., responsible for building and maintaining a team of sales professionals to support Telstra's rapidly growing multinational customer base in the Eastern Region of the United States. In this role he oversaw Telstra's offices in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia. He was also responsible for building a localized provisioning, order control and customer care organization to support Telstra customers in the eastern region. Before joining Telstra, Morawski held the positions of Regional VP of Sales and Director of Sales Operations at Prism Communications Services, a subsidiary of Comdisco. At Prism he built a sales infrastructure to support the sales of their next generation CLEC services in 11 cities across the eastern region of the United States. Morawski was also the Manager of Business Development at Nortel Networks' Public Networks Division in Dallas, where he managed the relationship between Nortel and Southwestern Bell through the acquisition of Pacific Telesis and SNET. At this time he was part of the team that sold the largest deal in Nortel history, displacing a large portion of Lucent's 1A switches in the combined Southwestern Bell /Pacific Bell former 7 state region. Morawski held several sales and sales management positions with Nynex Meridian Systems, a joint venture between Nortel and Nynex, selling enterprise CPE equipment to corporate customers. He started his sales career at American Communications in NYC.

Throughout her distinguished career, Kate has developed and implemented a range of policy initiatives to skilfully advocate customer interests during times of great commercial, regulatory and political change. Kate joined Telstra in 2004 as head of Telstra Regulatory. She then became Deputy Group Managing Director, Public Policy and Communication and, in addition to her regulatory portfolio, also assumed responsibility for communications and government relations. Prior to joining Telstra, Kate was Director General of the NSW Department of Commerce. She was previously CEO of the Department of Industrial Relations and CEO of the Workcover Authority, and held senior positions in the NSW Government Cabinet office.

Mark Andrew will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Common Ground's project activities. Mark is a seasoned project management professional with over 10 years as a senior project manager, and nearly 20 years experience in software development. Mark has an impressive track record of delivering large complex projects. As an executive project director for the Telstra Corporation, Mark was responsible for delivering Telstra's first large-scale Webbased application, as well as delivering Telstra's first large-scale customer relationship management system. Mark has also held key national manager roles in Telstra's Information Technology Groups. Mark is an expert in the use of innovative development methodologies, including iterative prototyping, user simulations, timeboxing, and other rapid delivery techniques as well as a published author on Information Technology issues. Mark is a Member of both the Australian Computer Society and the Australian Institute of Project Management.

As VP of Operations, Ove Stockel drives the design, development and test work of Orbyte, and in fact the entire ServiceFactory product family. Additionally, Mr Stockel is responsible for the production and maintenance of processes and methodologies for all engineering activity. Mr. Stockel has more than 15 years of experience in the telecom industry, including various senior positions at Ericsson covering over 12 years, where he focused on product development and management. Prior to joining ServiceFactory, Mr. Stockel held the position of VP Technology at BlueFactory in Stockholm. Mr. Stockel?s international experience includes 16 months in Melbourne, Australia, as project manager for Ericsson. During this time, his team developed and implemented incremental functionality on infrastructure solutions for the incumbent Australian Telecom operator, Telstra. Mr. Stockel?s career began at Ericsson Components in Kista in 1988 as a designer of linear analogue integrated circuits on chip. Mr. Stockel holds an M.Sc. in physics from the University of Umea.
Paul Fletcher is Director, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, with responsibility for the internal legal function; regulatory issues; Government relations; media relations; internal communications; corporate affairs; and the commercial interconnect relationship with Telstra. Before joining Optus in March 2000, Paul was Chief of Staff to the Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Richard Alston. During his four years on the Minister's staff, Paul dealt with a range of issues including Telstra privatisation (first and second tranches); telecommunications deregulation; and digital television. Paul had previously worked in management consulting; as a lawyer at Malleson Stephen Jacques; and in corporate strategy at TNT Limited. Paul holds dual first class honours degrees in law and economics from Sydney University, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in New York City, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
