Garry Davis was born and educated in Sydney. He graduated with a degree in Economics from Sydney University, and later gained formal qualifications in accounting. He is a past member of The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), a fellow of The Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and holds a Financial Securities Dealers license. As a stockbroker, securities dealer and financial advisor he gained considerable experience in the formation and financing of numerous companies and projects. At Bain and Company (now Deutche Bank), he was Senior Partner-Corporate Finance for a number of years, and later opened the Sydney office and was nationally responsible for corporate finance for UK based stockbroker, Smith New Court Australia Limited. He has held the positions of Chairman, Chief Executive and Non Executive Director in a number of publicly listed companies including, National Venture Corporation Limited, Ipoh Limited, Defender Limited and Solomon Pacific Resources NL. He is presently Executive Chairman of Thames Capital Pty Ltd, a corporate advisory firm and licensed securities dealer whose offices are located in Sydney and Perth.
