Martyn Smith (Born 10/5/55) joined Avis Europe from John Menzies plc where he held the position of Group Finance Director from July 1999. Prior to joining Menzies, he was Group Financial Controller for Inchcape plc and previously held a number of financial roles with Inchcape plc and Rothmans International. He is a non-executive Director of SMG plc.

Christophe joined Avis in September 2000 as the incoming Leisure Manager, responsible for the business into France, globally in both retail and tour sectors. In October 2003 Christophe moved to the European Headquarters and took up his current position, Regional Director of Africa and Indian Ocean. Managing 37 countries in our licensee network he is responsible for developing the business into and out from Africa.

After completing a degree in Economics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Ana spent a year at an international bank before joining Avis Spain in April 1998 as a Fleet Analyst in the Planning department. In conjunction with the Fleet Manager, Ana was responsible for fleet rotation planning and its implications on the P & L and the Balance Sheet. Ana enhanced her analytical skills when she moved to work as a Revenue Analyst within 2 years, analysing revenue by business segment and providing support to the commercial department on contribution analysis for new deals and accounts. In February 2002 Ana was seconded to the European Headquarters in Bracknell to work as a Country Analyst with specific responsibility for analysing the revenue of six countries. In April 2004 she was promoted to her current position of Finance Manager Licensee Department, where she is responsible for creating licensee countries' forecasts and plans, as well as managing the financial relations between Avis and the licensees.

Gillian joined Avis straight from University, on completing a degree in Business Studies. At the end of the 18 month graduate training programme she was appointed as a Business Systems Analyst in the Business Solutions Department. Promoted in January 2004 to her current postion , IT Project Manager with involvement in projects such as Frequent Traveller Programme, retro-claims system and a speech recognition feasibility study. Gillian has also been responsible for recruiting and mentoring the work placement students and is a member of the IT Staff Forum.

Mark joined Avis in August 2002 as Global Partnership Manager, responsible for the continued business development of a number of key global airline partnerships, working closely alongside Avis countries. Having studied for three years in three countries at EAP European School of Management, which included industrial placement roles at Mercedes-Benz AG in Stuttgart and Group Pechiney in Paris, Mark went on to work in a number of international roles on graduating from university. What Mark particularly enjoys about his role at Avis is that he has the autonomy to realise the full potential of the role, whilst having the support of a network of experts within the organisation. The international dimension of the role has enabled him to practise his language skills through regular contact with the Avis countries and airline partners. Avis also offers plenty of management development opportunities, which is probably why so many people end up staying with Avis longer than other companies they previously worked for.

Lesley Colyer (Born 27/1/53) joined Avis Europe in April 1977 and was appointed to the Board in April 2002. Lesley held a variety of positions before being appointed Director of Personnel in 1990. She assumed her current responsibilities at flotation in 1997. Prior to joining Avis Europe she worked for the Jaeger Group and Harrods.
